after paying for it i keep getting asked if i want to watch an ad to unlock a creature. not cool. It is handy and has a lot of information but could do with better filters and easier access to them. The interface as it is makes the apps clunky to use. The information in them is good and reasonably well presented, but getting to them is painful. You can favourite, sort by name or CR only - no filters which would really help.

The bestirary is great! So far everything I've looked up had been included. I'd like to be able to see the descriptions as well but Im guessing they're left out on purpose to avoid copyright issues. One thing that would be nice is if the images would zoom to the whole screen when tapped so they could be shown to players and the start block wouldn't be visible.

It's a great app with a lot of selection for monsters. Its organized well in an easy to reference way. There are a few things lacking though that could make it a lot better: 1 • I mostly use this as a quick-referance, so it would be nice if there was a way to copy the text or export the stat block as an image or something like that. 2 • The 'Favorites' section is glitchy, so when I star a creature, it shows it 3-4 times, and it REALLY annoying. (Maybe that could get fixed?) A good app though.

The app is okay. However, I noticed that it closes when I try to access the "Sea Hag" or "Werewolf". I presume there are more monsters that have this bug as I only have been using this app for 5 minutes. In addition it would be great if you could add pictures for all of them. It would enhance the gaming experience and would help the DM in describing what are the players encountering. Later edit: the last update fixed the crashes. I'm upgrading the rating to 4/5 stars.

Great tool for quick reference. I find myself grabbing my phone for a quick lookup of stats before I reach for the monster manual. The one improvement I would have liked to see is for the background info to also be included. Other than that, it's great. UPDATE: the app has been updated to include the art and all of the background info from the MM. This is a great tool, that is well worth the price.

I very much enjoy this app for browsing monsters broadly for use in my games. As others have noted, filtering options would be a fine addition, but otherwise it is quite comprehensive and well presented. A useful feature might be an indicator of what creatures are considered "secret" as I had been offered to watch an ad to view a secret creature, but upon finishing the ad nothing new seemed to be present. Thank you for the app!

Great, comprehensive app. Absolutely recommend to dungeon masters. However, it could really use some better search criteria. Being able to filter by monster type, source book, etc would be really helpful, rather than just sorting be CR or alphabetical name. Also, being able to access a separate menu of your bookmarked monsters would be really helpful. Still the most comprehensive free bestiary I've found, and the effort made to include lore and images is very much appreciated.

This compendium contains pretty much every creature released for 5e along with their stats, lore, and (most of the time) images. The search, alpha, and Challenge Rating filters are useful. An additional feature I would love to see is filtering my creature type and environment. Though that definitely doesn't break the tap. As a DM, this is a must on my phone.

I've already used this app so much since I downloaded it; it's great for reference, stats, & the new lore feature is great. The only issue I have with it is that it freezes sometimes when I scroll, but I can deal with that for how useful it is. Was going to suggest more search filters, but I read that there is a filter system in the works, which I hope will be awesome!

A decent bestiary. It would be better if there was a sort option, similar to your items app. I would like to see a list of creatures from a particular area, with a given CR range. Edit: please make a combat app/option. Give us the ability to put together an encounter, while giving quick access to the monster's information.

This is absolutely perfect for DMs. Although I own all the books, I find it inconvenient when it comes time to double check monster stats mid-session. Printing them out costs money and, unless you own a laminator, the sheets become grubby. This solves all of these problems. Now I just favourite the monsters I'm using each session so they're right there in front of me at all times.

This is a fantastic way to organize encounters without having to flip pages in books. The favorites function is a little buggy, requiring a close/opening of the app. I would like to see the ability to update the contents as new materials are released (eg: Eberron etc.)

I think it's well designed and useful. The stat block is easy to read and designed in the same fashion as the MM shop there's no confusing. The Lore tab, though not always filled out, is excellent for story ideas and making the adventure more immersive. I do wish all of this developer's apps had the option to add custom items; like common items, monsters/monster lore, spell/effects... e.t.c Although, overall, excellent app for DMs.

Very useful and has everything I need; stats, health, special abilities and most have lore info too. I think it is very useful for summoners and druids using beast shape to keep handy, DMs especially. I have only one very minor complaint and that's just that when you leave a creature's stats the keyboard pops back up. But that is a VERY minor complaint!

when you're in the app, it's very intuitive and helpful however, these are very heavyweight apps. my phone gets very warm running them and switching between apps while these are open freezes the phone and i have to reboot. very difficult to use when in a game session, which obviously is the whole point.

Very clean and user friendly. It has creatures from the base monster books to the adventure campaign books, and when they allow editing and sharing in the next month, it will be incredible. Honestly I would suggest any of their apps, except for spells, unless you simply need a reference, because there are better apps for spellbooks out there. I especially like the RPG generator. The tables are amazing.

5 stars if there were more specific filtering/sorting options e.g. the option to toggle viewing creatures from particular source books, or the option to add creatures to user defined categories rather than just "favourites" (it isn't very useful if I want to view just Dinosaurs since it's kind of a subcategory that won't show up with a search - some sort of grouping/folder system for users would be good). Otherwise it's just a glorified (albeit very beautiful, exhaustive, and very useful) list.

This app is great. Lots of different creatures, descriptions and stats are all really well done. The only thing i wish was that you could sort the monsters based on where you would usually find them. Like underdark, forest, mountain etc. Other than that, this is as good as it gets!

Great tool, needs some work however due to it working for a short time, then crashing. It's gotten progressively worse over the course of a few days, and is practically unusable. If this problem is fixed, I will happily change my rreview. Im using a Galaxy s8+

This really is a great app, and super useful for a first time DM like me. The only thing I think could make it better, outside of completing the lore for everything which I know will take time, would be the ability to sort/filter by things like enemy type or size. IE showing only undead enemies, or only fiends and humanoids

I really enjoy this app. Not all sources are exactly official, so it would be good to have a "guide to the source acronyms" somewhere. I would also love a feature to toggle different classifications. But for a free app, this is great. The ads aren't even that bad - none require you to wait any amount of time and the banner ads aren't intrusive. It just a solid app that does what it claims.

Great quartet of apps. My only complaint with any of them is small amounts of missing content, but with the frequent updates, upgrades, and fixes that list of nitpicks is getting shorter and shorter. The ads are infequent and unintrusive. The UI is good and getting better. I highly recommended the bestiary, character, and spells app for any player at a 5e table and the dungeon generator is neat too.

Fantastic app! Everything well spread out like the books (other apps not displayed so well) so it's easy to find what you need at a glance. Any plans to add interactive dice rolls when you tap an action or skill? That would make this 10 times more awesome, and practical.

Joh. P. May 5, 2019

This is a great tool for DMs. It includes tons of creatures from most, if not all, currently published materials. Ads are minimal, and can be gotten rid of for $1.49, but a $2.99 option is available and this app is absolutely worth it. EDIT: Some other reviews mention bugs, but I haven't had any issues.

Pretty good but lacks a lot of useful features such as filtering by terrain type or movement speed type (if you're wanting just creatures found in a desert or with a swim speed for instance). More importantly, a few creatures have errors, such as Barlgura missing some of its innate spellcasting for ex.
