I really like a lot of the shows. Functionality needs improvement. I'm glad to see a new continue watching section. But *** the closed captioning *** often doesn't work or stops working after a commercial break or if the show get paused. This is tremendously limiting. It also causes me to see more commercials because I have to rewind often. (3/22)
I've found the A&E app to be an excellent source of all things law enforcement. It's scope is wide ranging and I never find myself wanting for content. The app itself is well constructed and rarely have I had any technical issues. Lately I've been experiencing problems with the interactive commercials crashing the app. It's too bad because I had considered this as one of my favorites.
Doesnt load a lot of times on Roku. I have 50 apps but for some reason 2 of them A&E & History do not work well on Roku. When i click on a show episode app closes. This has been going on for at least a year. Somedays app works, others it doesnt. Uninstall then restart Roku, reinstall app, then restart Roku again, & that doesnt work either
5 stars if commercials were gone. Please please please come out with an paid app to not have to watch so many commercials, cause it's a ridiculous amount of commercials. Love most of the shows like Cold Case and 1st 48. I'm willing to pay like some of the other tv apps. Your app runs good except sometimes makes me watch double ads.
UPDATE: Still one of the best; however, just last night I was not able to watch "Live"...apparently there was a "glitch". I found it extremely frustrating to go to FAQ and have to search through numerous articles and still not find an answer to the question!! Sometimes "less is more" and I think that's what's needed here. My rating for app remains 5 but with a -1 for your FAQ section.
I would like to give this app 5 stars since I love a lot of the shows. But I can't give 5 stars because of the constant ads over and over. The same ads back to back at least 3 - 4 times. But overall I do enjoy the shows.
This application asserts, bizzarely, that I am NOT connected to the internet, even though my streaming device boasts a 1Gb Lan connection. All modern computers are now automatically updated by time servers. So my date and time are accurate. Good job diagnosing a non-existing problem! πππππ€£π
I love this channel, but Direct tv has taken the A&E on demand off their channel listing. You can watch A&E but on demand is NOT available so I get the A&E app thinking I would finally be able to watch all the shows I have missed but instead, I am faced with one commercial after another. How can you honestly expect people to choose your app when there are literally 6 minutes of commercials & 4 minutes of the show? Then, the option of watching more commercials OR an interactive ad! WTH!!!
I will only speak about the app. It really needs work. Way too many commercials and there is always difficulty in see an entire episode due to the freezing and, of course, the many commercials.
Awful. One of the worst streaming apps. Very broken and glitchy. You end up watching so many commercials (even when logged in) that it's useless. Forget about accidentally clicking or taping on anything bc you're gonna watch even more commercials at that point. π
Great shows but app needs desperate makeover. Always having to log in between every show. Getting sorry not able to play this video right now. Frustrating when you are into a show. Please fix. Don't think I will keep subscription.
This app is just awful! I can sign in and watch ONE episode of a show but after that I can't watch another episode or another show. It always gives me the "user not authenticated" error message. I've tried changing my password with my cable provider, setting up a profile, and the other things recommended on their website for this error but to no avail. The only thing that works is to Uninstall the app, then reinstall it and sign back in again. It is extremely frustrating!
My only negative comment is that there are too many commercial breaks. I understand that advertisers are the real revenue stream for the networks. However, placement of these commercials should be reevaluated (i.e. instead of periodically throughout the show, play the ads all at once, before or after the show). The constant interruptions are distracting from what should be an enjoyable experience.
Same as everyone else: I love that I can watch my show (The First 48), but the ads are the worst! Anytime I have to toggle away from the app, it makes you watch ads whenever you toggle back. Then, sometimes there's glitches when you choose the 30 sec ad. You end up having to choose the 3 min ad. Just today I found that an episode is frozen once it hits the 20:03 mark (The First 48, S14 E15). I tried everything and also uninstalled/reinstalled app. Doesn't work. Still frozen.
First I want to say that (my opinion only) the rating is wrong...I have had the app about a month and to me; it's a 9 star π Could be a 10 star but the ads are a little much. ..Intervention is my favorite. Great π job developers. I highly recommend this app: you will be glad you downloaded it!
I like the shows but there are to many ads!! There are ads! There is an ad like every 60 seconds. Thats crazy. So I guess I will go back to either Tubi or Pluto. Thanks anyway A&E.. Tina E.
The glitchiest app of all time. Have to restart videos constantly when they're not freezing or giving error messages. App is atrocious.
Horrible App!!! It's slow, too many commercials, hard to navigate and return to your show. The show that I downloaded the app to watch wasn't even available as advertised. Horrible App!!!ππΎππΎππΎππΎππΎ
stuck in the dark ages. no one signs in with cable anymore. says can watch without sugning in...only on like 5 shows. signed in with a friends cable log in....no better. can watch last 2 episodes of some but not prev episodes. its tge 21st century a&e...get with the times. FIX YOUR SHΓΓ!
This app is not great. The ads play over the shows. It stops playing randomly. It tells you that you are not connected to internet when it is.
I constantly have to close the app and reopen because it freezes when it goes to commercial. Also, there are a ton of commercials.
I can only get one or two episodes to play in a row before I get an error message and it crashes. It didn't used to be like this, it was a good app and I hope they fix it.
I had read through all the reviews and I just thought I'd give it a try. Once I downloaded the app, it was working(just for the very first episode I watched on the app). But after watching just one episode, the app was saying "User Not Authorized Error". And every single episode I tried to watch after that, it gave me the same error message. I uninstalled the app, downloaded it again and tried it all over again. But, to no avail. Right after I am done writing this review, it'll be uninstalled.
An excellent app. Flawless interface and performance. Update: Recently the app gets stuck in a loop where it's essentially a commercial delivery system. It doesn't return to the show. Very irritating.
I like the variety of shows on the app but I hate all the commercials. Since there has to be commercials, don't give us an option if :30 or 3:00 because tapping the button doesn't work. There is a major issue with lag time on all the shows.
Great app. Everything is nice and clear. No break up during play. Update...getting really disappointed. The commercials are way too many and way too long. There is an option for a 30 sec. ad but, approximately 7 out of 10 times if fails, I have to exit and then go back and tap continue watching which then I start out with another long set of commercials π.
