Do not even bother if you have Android. Afterlight has put ZERO effort into this app for Android. I've been a loyal user of this app for years with the iphone and it has been fantastic. The Android version is pathetic. Over 10 of the default filters are missing, one of the best features which was to create your own filters and name them is non-existant, and to add even more insult, the app CONSTANTLY crashes and saves the photos you worked hard to edit as just a black image. Don't waste your time
Used to have it on iPhone, moved to Android and went back several years with this app. I get it's a small team but at least update the app to be the same level as iOS's Afterlight 1 if you aren't going to give Android Afterlight 2. It's a waste of money in comparison and I think it costs the same despite being several versions behind Afterlight 1, let alone Afterlight 2. It doesn't even have the ability to hold press to compare edits to the original photo. Filters missing. Crashes a lot. So many glitches. Total disappointment.
I recently switched from iPhone to Android & was really disappointed w this app. On iPhone, you can swipe through pics before selecting a photo & when you're editing, you can tap on the picture to see the original to compare to. I didnt realize how much a difference those features made. Android doesn't have either & you have to start from album view and then scroll through anytime you want to change to a different picture. "clarify" is much nicer/clearer on iPhone too. Its all muddy on Android😣
a quick install/uninstall because i just had to chime in here. in regard to the negative reviews, pleas to the devs for an update, technical issues, etc.... none of this is necessary. before installing a new app or getting frustrated when an old favorite stops working, it's always good to read the description. at the bottom it will show when the app was last updated. for example, the last update for this app was seven years ago. perhaps there are other, more recently updated options. 🐬
This is my favorite editing app! Suddenly though my favorite filter (and others) are making huge black spots on the images as well as extra noise. I also wish they'd add more light and dust effects and backgrounds for boarders. This app has been the same for so many years I'd love new editions. Also, I'm pretty sure there are filters that iphones get that we dont. I can live with most of this but I cant deal with giant black spots being on my photos :/
Very good and easy to use app. I have been using it for a long time. However, my feedback to the developer would be that the warmth tool makes everything very very green, and is basically unusable. Except for that everything is great!
I thought it would be good but it was not so. I tried to edit one photograph but there are only 10 to 15 filters and there are very less options to edit the photo. I recommend not to download this app till the time they do not put updates on filters.
Please fix bug. I tried to load an image, it went blank. The image was succesfuly selected, but after I clicked "use", the screen was just blank with no image. When I clicked any button, the app abruptly closed.
Great vintage/ grunge editor on Android! I've used several apps for getting the "aesthetic look" for my photos . And trust me by far this is the best app on Android that I've come so far. The controls are really simple and the features, filter's and effects are mostly free . Im using this on my Realme 5 pro running Android 10 and this app runs smooth like butter and hasn't malfunctioned even once. I've absolutely no complaints and would rather reccomend this app to others.
I used to love this app, but the new version is not nearly as user friendly as it once was. when going back to preview images, the app takes you right to the top of your image gallery, whereas it used to remember its place in your images. you also used to be able to scroll through your photos in the app, but now you have to go all the way to your gallery and plan through loads of images. Please bring this feature back!
This app has lost a lot of optimisation for smart phones with tall screens and more recent smart phones. I'm constantly getting the warning that this app was made for an older version of Android as well. That doesn't instil cofidence in Afterlight supporting the Android platform in the future if they can't at least get this app to be more optimised for Android 11. If you want a photo editing apps with better support from their developers, I'd encourage you to look at app alternatives.
I really love this app since years ago. but recently after I changed to my new phone with tall screen, this app keep acting up. force close, can't load pictures, and lately other app can't find the edited photos in the folder. we paid for this app, can't you guys updated the app to fix the bugs and compatibility to newer phone model???
The iPhone version of this app looks great, but the Android one is sadly lacking. The controls are way less intuitive, and many features are missing: curves, selective saturation, selective lightness...I would love this app if we got the same features as iOS. When can we get these, guys?
It's ok. Just not sure why the pro version is still not available for Android devices. I have an iPhone as well, and have both versions on it. However I only use the pro version because it does SO MUCH MORE. I've written to them a few times about making it available for Samsung devices but have not heard back. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE serve other device users and not just Apple products.
Like many, many before I've been long time user of this app. I recently made the switch back to Android and I come to download my favorite photo editor and it hasn't been updated in awhile and I'm using and older version. I don't understand why developers think everyone has an iPhone or wants one. So they stop updating app services here with Android. The upsetting part is that I was supporter of this app I bought the premium version. Sad, sad guess I'll be using VSCO from now on.
I have been using this amazing app for 6 years until I switched from iPhone to Android :( please update!!! There is no other app like it. The edits and filters always look so good. I've tried other apps but they're just not the same!! Afterlight is simple and beautiful. Please please please update.
Simple, straightforward app with a huge range of effects that look really natural and are fully adjustable. I would have liked to have seen perhaps a preview of the Instant Film pack (even just on a demo photo) but I bought it and I was not disappointed. Great job guys!
Updated needed!!! I'd give it a 5 if it had been updated. I've used MANY editing apps and yes this does not have premium editing features (like air brush/ blemish fix/ red eye correction - required for more professional level editing) but the features it offers are really good and sufficient for everyday use, but as my Android phones are upgrading, this app is not that stable or easy to use. You've developed Afterlight 2 for iOS but please at least update this one for Android!!! I love this app!
It's really good, nice and easy to use, good options... and yet I can only edit 12 pictures at a time before the app crashes! But why!? Spinning wheel of doom is incredibly annoying...or the image just disappears!
I've had this app since 2016 with my galaxy s7 edge and it was great. I recently upgraded my phone to the galaxy s21+ and when I try to open up an image or even use the camera mode on the app it says an error has occurred & the app isn't downloaded from the store...but it is. Very sad to see I can't use the app anymore especially from buying filters previously.
The app can't even be used! Once I launch it says that the app is made for an older version of android and asks me to check for newer versions. But there is NO UPDATE. Also, cant even open my images, they just turn out black at preview and crashes when I press "use this"
The best best aesthetic filters I've ever seen. I would've given a 10 stars if possible. Can't decide on a particular filter because each one is so good. Maybe you could work a little on grains and light leak. Also very simple to use.
The app works well on iOS but the Android version is not as user friendly. The rotate tool is not smooth or precise. I still use it but wish it was on par with the iOS version.
Very average photo editor app. It does the very minimum to be considered a "photo editor". Only a few filters, basic editing tools, nothing great.
this was good but now it doesnt do what it's supposed to do. tried to reduce the shadows and sharpness but the effects didnt appear/apply. yes i clicked the check mark, yes i tried to reapply the preset multiple times but it still wont apply. fix this bug immediately, need this for work purposes.
I've had this app for years. It is definitely my favorite editing app. I had this first on my iPhone 4 when I first discovered Instagram, I loved the wallpapers and it was the only time I ever spent money in an app. When I got my note 5 I had to repurchase the wallpapers but it was only 99¢ I didn't mind because I love them them enough! I now have an LG phone and I'm currently trying to purchase the wallpapers but it's not allowing me to. I'd give five stars if I could get the wallpapers!
I purchased the extra filters and frames years back, and now they've been removed and are asking to like the app on Facebook, and repurchase to unlock filters which have already been paid for. Swindling doesn't fly with me. It seems the app has been abandoned and they're doing what they can to dupe you out of your money. The image quality translation is mediocre at best, anyway. Two thumbs all the way down.
