AIR Remote FREE for Apple TV
Jailbreaking your Apple TV is not required, because AIR Remote uses default infrared codes. AIR Remote is available for the most common android devices with built in infrared support (please see below).
AIR Remote is also compatible with any Mac products with infrared receiver (introduced since 2005). These include some MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini or the iPod Universal Dock.
All essential functions (up, down, left, right, play/pause and the OK Button) are supported. Additionally you cam press and hold the play/pause or OK Button for additional functions , like you would do with your classic Apple TV remote.
On the sidebar you will find the choice between the original remote and the swipe view. After selecting the swipe screen, you can activate the directions by swiping into a direction. Tapping once represents the confirm button and tapping twice will trigger the menu button.
Only working on devices with built-in infrared blaster!
Please consider that not every Custom ROM has built-in infrared support!

If the light of your Apple TV flashes and there is no other reaction , please check if your silver Apple TV remote is still paired and unpair it. From the Main menu from the Apple TV choose Settings > General > Remotes and Unpair Apple Remote.

It claims that it can control a MacBook and/or an Apple TV (but which generation?). OK. It will not work with my ASUS Chromebook C202SA (2017) because it needs a built in infared transmitter! Not many phones have this. Not ideal.
Another remote that functions poorly, visually looks subpar, and contains no use other than eating up my storage.
App does not open. You press on it to open it and it just brings you to a white screen and then closes it out to return to the screen you were at before. Useless
It works on Xiaomi phone with infrared support, I just had to turn on the option for old codes in settings. I would give 5 stars if it had no ads
I installed it, the box is connected to the HDMI, the new password is in my phone but it still tells no, "No thanks". I was hopeful, now just sad.
This application does not open on my phone (Honor 7). I get a white screen for a second or two before it crashes.
"Air" would imply wifi (like Air Play), but no, this app needs IR on your mobile device.

Looks great looking, but as soon as I tapped 'Get Started', they said that it cannot be used on my device, which is an Android Honor 7S. At least they can mention the devices compatible with this app in the description. Very disappointed
