Amazon Kindle

I've been using the app for years but all of a sudden the "search>web" option stopped working. I won't remove a star for it cause I can still copy and paste, but hopefully this is a known bug being fixed. Other than that, I'm so happy about Kindle and all its features that I have now donated all the physical books I had that I could find in kindle to have my library in my pocket, and I've now invested in an actual Kindle reader. It's the future (and well established present) of reading books.

good app overall for reading text....however...reading graphic novels can be a bit challenging on smaller devices, even with the ability to focus on a specific image. on larger devices...the sheet music side of things will display a static image, with no ability to resize the music. So it makes it almost impossible to read. Open to suggestions on apps that allow reading sheet music.

Awesome reading app - best I've used, yet. I already liked this app, but years back when they added the ability to switch back and forth between reading text and audio, while keeping your place in a book, finally made it possible for me to get through an entire book in a short period of time with my busy lifestyle. Can't recommend this app enough - love it!!!

It's good if you started a book but I'm Mostly WAY further in the book and it only gives me about 200 or 100 pages. I understand its hard but I prefer reading on my phone. Anyways, the app is perfect for beginners or people who started a book but don't want to read it actually with the book! There's always the book your looking for! Totally Ad-free

a decent app for viewing books with. would really benefit from being able to have proper 2 page or multiple page support. And maybe a whole load of other quality of life improments. also some books don't display equations at the same size as the text. I normally use science graduate books and it would be nice to have two different pages on view (in landscape orientation) so I can reference between the two. maybe even have multiple books open at the same time.

It took a minute to adjust to reading digital books, and specifically graphic novels again, but I've come to really reading on the Kindle app. I especially like the way the library is set up. The way you can toggle between what is downloaded and what is'nt appeals to my OCD, cause I like to download and put back books on a whim. If you pay for prime you ought to check it out at least. I have a DC Infinite subscription, but I think the Kindle library is a little more user friendly.

I love it, its convenient to use it since it connects directly to the ereader i sometimes edit thins here since its faster and easier to access. My only problem is the exportation of the notes and highlights, i think it could be improved. I highlighted my notes on my kindle device and the device has no colored highlighters but when I download the notes theres a color yellow in all my highlights so I hope it would be changed.

I really enjoy the availability of books on Kindle and also that prices are often times cheaper than a hard copy, although nothing replaces a hard copy book in the hand. I just wanted to add that I found the name 'Kindle Unlimited' to be deceitful because when I purchased that package, I thought by the name I could read any book for free with the monthly subscription, but it is only books that have the title "Kindle Unlimited" above them that you may read. I felt that was deceitful!

I have over 400 books that I have bought over the years. Lately though, there is a rise in past purchases in my library that are no longer recognized in the kindle store. There are reviews on the individual books saying that the series was temporarily removed, then re-added that causes an issue with the purchase order. I can no longer bulk-purchase for ongoing series since it would make me buy past books a second time.

When reading a book with citations, there are hyperlinks within the text to the reference page. However, there is no easy method for returning to your reading point after tapping the hyperlink. You are left stranded many pages ahead, having to flip back to your reading point if you can remember what page you left off on. In addition the sensitivity of tap to turn the page vs double tap to exit to the main menu is terribly incoherent and frustrating.

recently having trouble adding books to my library...brings me to a page to choose a device to download it to (which is fine) but there are no devices listed and therefore I cannot download the book...that's the only reason for my 3 stars, I literally cannot read until the app decides it wants to work. other than this it's been the best app for reading I've ever used I love everything else about it I just would like to be able to download books on the first try....not the 8th

Was great before the update. I haven't been able to use media controls for months when listening to audible through the kindle app. I hate it so much. I've looked and apparently this has been an issue since December! When is this going to get fixed? I'm sick of having to use two apps and switching back and forth between audible and kindle apps.

Should be better, very difficult to navigate around between the Library and the Store. Not logical. Even difficult to update the brightness. Auto is too dim, so I found the setting once and put it on manual, now it's too bright but I can no longer find where it is. Developers have a look at how VLC does this, it's not that difficult. Can't just use the tablet brightness since it runs independently- doh. Text size adjustability is small, medium, or huge.

like all Amazon apps, poor ui design and non intuitive steps to get from point a to point b in the application hinder ease of use and increase frustration while trying to find reading materials that suit your tastes. keep in mind that this is a consumer-facing product that is intended to sell other products, that is, books and possibly audio books, the application requires multiple clicks/touches to browse titles, and then a subsequent back back back back back sequence to return to the main shop

The new update is horrible!! I use the app on my chromebook & since the new update if you choose "resizable" (which you need to if you want the book to display across the whole page) the app doesn't work correctly or shuts down all the time. Please change it back to the way it was prior to this update! The "tablet" option makes the book display too small!

I love my Kindle app. Used for years and struggled through other issues (crashes, library disappearing, restarts) but I am just so frustrated with the continuous scroll bar being on the right. If I turn the page it is on the bottom. Being right handed I hold my phone in my hand and scroll with my thumb. Can't tell you how many times it thinks I want to jump pages. If we had the option to move the bar to the left or right so people could have their preference it would save lots of aggravation

After latest update it is so hard to get to the books you own. It feels like the apps main job is to sell you more books with zero regard that you actually read them. Ideally I would prefer a relaxing enjoyable reading experience but at this point I just want to get to my books without having to navigate a maze of confusing menus and never ending line of salesmen trying to sell me more books along the way. Edit: Create one collection with all your books in it. Makes it easier.

EDIT. So, the problem with the app has gotten worse. I can't even open it anymore, even after Uninstalling it and reinstalling it. The email for help still isn't working... The only reason my rating is 4 stars is because I keep having to uninstall and then reinstall it for it to work again. I keep doing it because I love the app, even though it IS annoying every time I have to do it lol. I try to contact someone about this but the email in the contact information needs to be changed.

I love reading on Kindle apps! You can make the print bigger or smaller when you need it, highlight text in multiple colors which can later be used for quick notes review or exported to quote in presentations, have all your favorite books accessible on all your devices from anywhere or at any time, be able to purchase (or download the free specials) the most current or classic books that interest you at the click of a button, and organize them in your library your way. It's a reader's dream! ❤

This used to be a 5 star app for me, but with latest update you cannot play or pause audio books with your earbuds, only using your phone, which is not always easy if your hands are full and someone tries to talk to you. Now you have to fumble your phone out to pause the audio just to hear something else. Very dangerous in my opinion, but they don't seem to care. Who in their right mind thinks removing that function is a good idea?

Since last update 2/22, 1. have a sample that will not remove download from device, despite having purchased the book and have it downloaded. 2. Also having glitches of downloaded book's not showing up in my library. I must do a search for them then looks like it takes me to the store to purchase again where I can choose read now. This happens randomly to a title. Can't figure a pattern to this. Love this app for years. Hope this can be fixed soon.

I used to love this app, but they have made some updates I hate. The description of a book used to be at the top. Now you have to scroll through a bunch of reviews the author hand picks about how great the book is. Blah blah, I just want to know what it's about FIRST! Also, I have Kindle Unlimited, and when I click on an author I used to be able to see which books were Kindle Unlimited from that screen. You can no longer do that. Make changes to improve the app, not make it harder.

This app is generally pretty good for my needs. For listening to audio books though it has a major flaw. Media controls don't work, though another review mentions they used to. That's a critical feature as I need to be able to pause without having to take my phone out and pause in the app. Doc that and that's one or two stars gained.

Overall the app is awesome. However, I recently found an annoying layout issue. BUG: I have a OnePlus 9 pro, and there's a camera cutout in the top left. While reading, below the camera is the in-app clock, and below that is the book. If you remove the clock there's still that wasted space where there could be another line of text from the book. The app should increase the vertical space and move the clock to the right of the camera.
