Something's broken, in a big way. Installed and wanted to use the Fender Deluxe Amp. Says I need the Irig Ua device. It takes me to the page and in big red letters says the product is no longer available. Go to the help tab and it says the help file isn't available. Still can't figure out how to make this work and I've been involved in electronic music for decades. Totally useless app as it stands today.
App is long left unmaintained, at some point using the app with iRig, the settings get "stuck" and the sound stays the same regardless of presets selected or changes to amps, pedals, etc. The micro USB is terrible and the slightest movement disconnects it from the phone; tried with multiple cables new and used. This devices was a great idea back in the day and provided great way to play while traveling, but now it's not even a novelty
The app is great. It's the iRig UA that I have problems with. It's made of cheap plastic. I had to remove my phone cover in order to get the cable to plug in. Sometimes you have to jiggle the cable to get it to work properly. For a hundred bucks they should make something a little more solid. Otherwise it sounds great. The software gets 5 stars. I've ran it through my amp into my DAW with great results. The hardware. 3 stars. Even the plastic is ok but better jacks and cable would mean it.
it's good for people who want basic sounds and are starting out but it's incredibly annoying that you can't use multiple effects and and such at once. You can make some awesome sounds with multiple effects but you aren't able to do this on this app which makes me a very sad boy. I'm pretty sure you can pit multiple effect on the apple version which is a little ignorant that they don't update it but I could be wrong. please add that feature onto android beg of you ikmedia
Sometimes it works great with my android tablet. The issues I been having is sometimes the volume is way to loud on all amp models and the volume controls do nothing on amps and effects. I tried to reboot but still same issue. Update : I figured out you have to be on wifi in online mode to adjust the volume controls will not operate in offline mode. So I give it 5 star!
This app crashes a lot on a Samsung Galaxy S20. I appreciate that the developers can't add new features to the app as it's tied to the feature set of the iRig UA DSP. However, they should really make a new build of the existing app to fix for newer androids, it would be a common courtesy for customers. Also, it would be great if IK could work with Steinberg and make the irig UA work as a direct interface for Cubasis on Android, that's more of a feature request!
The last update for this app was in 2015. Since then, we had 4 major Android upgrades and the Android phones have changed considerably in terms of compatibility and premium resources. This app is heavily outdated and the UX feels like a throw back to 10 years ago. The iOS app, on the other hand, is updated constantly. Android users deserved better treatment.
Amplitube UA works just fine with the iRig UA, I'm guessing the people having issues are trying to use an iRig 2 (which is understandable, the iRig 2 box does say there's an Android app for it.) But this is pretty much all you can do with an iRig UA. For all the grand claims made about the UA, the thing just does not work with any other apps. All you get is this right here, from 2015. Sadly, if you want to use a phone or tablet as a portable amp simulator, you're going to need an Apple device.
Doesn't work. When it loads it says to connect iRig or demo mode. Well I connected my iRig, but there's no option to click, and it doesn't even detect my iRig even though it is their product that they mfg. Also upon first loading app, I get a warning saying it was made for an older version of android, but when I tell it to look for update there is no update. So I've seen enough to know to never bother with this app again.
It would sure be nice if IKM took this product as seriously as the iOS or Windows versions. Especially after spending $100 on a proprietary interface and another $50 to get full functionality. It doesn't have but a fraction of the amps as the others, and the stomps are all generic. They're constantly adding new gear for the others (Like Mesa Boogie). Android hasn't had any updates in well over a year. My requests to support over future plans for this app have gone unanswered.
I downloaded the app to test before buying the Irig UA but as soon as it installed a message says it may not work properly since it was made for older android versions. I saw other reviewers saying it doesn't update since 2015. My phone is a Google pixel 4a. I don't want to take the risk of spending £69 for a device that doesn't work properly. So I quit and decided to buy a multi effects physical pedal for £60
Word to the wise, if you start out on android and buy a bunch of stuff and end up going to iOS, be prepared to pull out the pocket book again, because IK WILL NOT transfer your purchases between platforms. I gave it three stars because the stuff is decent most of the time...
What a waste of time, and the customer service is non-responsive. After purchasing the gimmicky iRig 2, I quickly found out how useless this product and app are. Prompted to purchase more apps and the device doesn't even connect to my device. Very disappointed and returning it ASAP. Save your money, buy locally owned used gear.
I bought the irig-hda back in 2017 when I had a Samsung s5 and I love it. I lost the phone and really missed playing my guitar on it..now I have a note 9.. and when I went looking for the original app which seems to be replaced by this one the amplitube ua which doesn't support the irig hda. so this means I have to pay out for another device and the one I bought 2 years ago is obsolete..this is very unprofessional and greedy..
Bought the iRig2 yesterday and will be returning it today. The description on the box states it's compatible with Android devices, but it isn't... Not without the UA add on. Why should Android users have to pay an extra €99 just to access the features?! You wouldn't sell a car and charge extra for the wheels! Rubbish. I'd rather spend my money on real pedals. What a sad joke of a product. Waste of time.
iRig2 users: Samsung Pro Audo no longer supported. Email from IK: Sorry to hear of your troubles. We have been informed by many users that Samsung has removed SAPA (Samsung Pro Audio) support for the Samsung Galaxy S9+ when running the latest version of Android (Pie). This unfortunately, is not under IK Multimedia control. Please feel free to use any apps which allow for headset or digital audio input. For example, the Audio Evolution DAW, ToneBridge, Deplike iRig Recorder 3 LE, or
I gave you a 1 star rating because I can't give less. I'm actually dissatisfied with the way we're not able to download the older version of this software that worked with irig and irig2 on android. It worked fine and I had what I PAID for. Now that I have a new android phone, I can't get the old version forcing me to buy more stuff. Really? Terrible way of treating customers! I thought you guys were musicians oriented. I'm not after support. Just access to something I paid for already.
Had same problem as other users: irig ua would not work on samsung galaxy s10. After using the proper connector cable though, the app works just fine and sounds great. Love IK Multimedia stuff.
Horrible... I had nothing but people pointing fingers at one another. iRig people tell me it's Samsung's fault about software being removed. So i asked Samsung and they had never heard of that software. I also like iRig doesn't tell you it won't work on Android, they just remove the wording. Slick.... iRig gave no offer for upgrade or helping out all of those impacted, even though the device was less than a year old, me and many more basically got the shaft.
This app doesn't even load on Android pads (it only loads the phone version)..and functions are so limited that you would be better off buying a $5 guitar link USB. Works much better and has more compatible apps. Cmon Amplitube ...most musicians will load this app on a secondary android device to avoid disruptions with the phone and chances are its an android pad. Please don't buy this device as it's an unsupported development product. It's expensive and unreliable. Definitely not worth it.
Absolute gank. The product description where I bought this product had no clear indication that this would only be compatible with iphones, complete mis selling knowing this would happen (as it seems to have happened to many others) and my only other option is to buy another product that costs £55 at the cheapest whereas this piece cost £8 what's the favoritism of brand all about? Just make a universal product or 2 at the same price that work on their individual devices. Really disappointed.
Disappointed.. My wife ordered the iRig2 for my birthday and as an Android user, I was able to not use AmpliTube UA. I found other apps, but just a few are free. I'm really frustrated to have it and not being able to use it as I want. To answer the reply: I got it, but you can't really see at first sight it's only for some Samsung devices. I've got a Honor phone, no IK apps running on my phone will make the iRig 2 works. It's a shame I know it's good stuff...
