Wonderful app. Perfect. Cohesive and beautiful use of data. Unfortunatley it is way too cost prohibitive. If you want $30-40/mo it needs to be for the whole family - similar to how you can share your Netflix account. I would pay $4-9/mo to have my own account. It's ridiculous for my mother to be paying $30/mo to explore the same family tree I am paying $30/mo for. I assume that cost of scale would result in better profits if you allowed for account sharing or lower the subscription price.

The app has a long-term glitch where you cannot access your photo library (you can only take a live shot, selecting photo library does NOTHING, even with permissions enabled on my device). Also, every action comes with spam from Ancestry in the app trying to force you to BUY, BUY BUY! Kinda makes the experience feel cheap and question whether data you pay for is even credible.

This app is an absolute disaster. If you try to use the message function it either doesn't work at all or jams up halfway through the message. I still have a message jammed that I can't complete, send or delete. About the only thing that works properly are the pop-ups wanting you to buy subscriptions. Two stars is generous.

Great way to document your family history! The app is really easy to use but highly suggest you get comfortable with it on a computer before tackling the mobile app. It is clean & well-designed, not at all glitchy, but it is complicated because it is so capable. Highly recommend!

The UI/UX for this app has improved over the years. While it still has some bugs and not the full experience of the website, it's still easy to use and convenient for when you can't carry around an entire laptop for research.

Crashes constantly since March 2022 update. Can't view or work on descendents past the 4th generation without the app crashing. Cannot app files without app crashing. Back here may 2022, app still doesn't work right. Removed and reinstalled multiple times. This is crazy.

Hate the new app. It was easier to go through and view my trees, find and compare records, and use the old app interface. I don'tckniw why you messed with it, but it is not nearly as user friendly. Very disappointed.

I love this app, but since the update, pages won't load and it will say "retry"...I thought it might be a connection issue on my part, but my connection is fine. I'm only having problems with this app. I hope it gets fixed! I'm using an Android if that helps.

This app and service helped me figure out a bunch of missing pieces about my family but there are so many free trials they trick you into signing up for to get certain info. I thought I had canceled a trial through the app and it never went through was charged for a second month and when I contacted them 5 seconds after the charge they said there's literally nothing they were willing to do and NO REFUND. I spent $100 on that app in 2 months that I hadn't even opened it. Bad business.

Ancestry is my favorite app. I dislike the issues with incorrect information and when a person has hints showing but clicking at that person shows zero hints. Other than that, I use the app everyday and look forward to future improvement. It's a great resource.

I have had ancestory since last spring. Got my sample results in November. Was going good until the new update, I paid for a whole month and couldn't use it. Now I'm out of 26 bucks from last month and couldn't even use it. I emailed your team just to be told it's not you guys it's apple pay well I looked in subscriptions nothing is showing in there. I'm beyond mad, this is ridiculous that I pay and can't even use it

I dont understand why ive built my tree for over six years i had a monthly subcription and put it in hold for 2 mths only to discover if i cancel it that after ive done this. I have no access to what I have built on my tree over this time. Once Ive cancelled it. Before you still had access to your tree if you cancelled a subscription bit now I dont.

Great tool for looking into my family's history. Learned a lot in a short amount of time. Now to the 1 star review, I have been charged twice after canceling my subscription, 27$ a month for something I'm not using. They are literally stealing people's money by making the cancelation process an nightmare. Then I get told by customer support that since I never received an email of cancelation they continued to charge me, so after canceling twice it is still my fault they kept charging me money.

It's far easier to work on the Internet access site than the app! The app makes it much harder to evaluate and add records, especially if you want them as alternatives. It's far slower than working in Chrome even on my cellphone.

Not really the app but the whole company. I've been waiting for four months to get my results. They sent an email 2 months ago saying they were behind but my sample would be processed soon. When I checked it said January 22nd it was processed. Now it says March 8th. I realize they are busy with the holiday and the pandemic but four months is ridiculous

Good app. It's easy to navigate and the hints/potential parents hints are great when I get stuck on a person. I wish more of the censuses were free to look at but there are other places to look.

I'm so fed up with this app. Each time I message a potential relative, and I turn light off phone while I have to pause to help my father whom has alzhimers disease, it then freezes my message to them and It won't let me send it, edit it or even see their messages again. I have to force-stop the app & clear the cache to fix it. I've also had no replies from some relatives that have been online & have used the app longer than me, so they will most likely know about messaging. Bet its this issue!

It's such a great tool, I wish the messaging was better & that u could add photos etc in msgs , I also wish I could see other people working on the same trees , as well as a message board for the trees. Also I don't think $25 a month isn't exactly fair, that's not easy for so many ppl , 10$ a month would be fair considering I do the actual research. I also think a starting fee of $3,000 for a professional is a bit much , they should offer options like researching a specific person for $100

This is a service I really needed to find my dad's biological family, I was able to find a ton of useful information but when I clicked to access such information it asked me to sign up for a free trial... I was already subscribed for the trial and intending to pay for the monthly service, no amount of Uninstalling and deleting account info changed it... it's almost like they don't want my money.

I have uploaded photos to Ancestry gallery on my tree but it won't let me transfer to individual people saying 'having trouble displaying page' and all I get is the green buffering circle, can't get off the page so have to uninstall and reinstall to even look on the site. This is an Android phone.

It does alright, except there are a few features that SHOULD be available on the app, but instead I have to log in using a browser instead, such as adding manual sources(not ones provided by Ancestry), or the ability to add tags to people (like not having kids, never married, brick wall, etc.) These really are basic things that should be included

Every time I use this app I get returned to the home screen after 10 minutes. It freezes all the time. And it will close app all by itself. Why pay all this money for something you cant do. Thinking of cancelling service

I subscribed to this app Apr 6, 2022 and it was still pushing me to subscribe and limiting my access. After multiple attempts to contact developer (per google play IT I had to do this) I have YET to receive any response. I will NEVER again subscribe to this app because the lack of response and action from the developer. Beware if you have any technical issues with this app because NO ONE will respond to help you.

Really enjoying the app and have found out so much! Only issue is that the app lags and won't let me open messages and when it goes onto the chat it freezes with text I started to write.

I love using this program I wish there was a way to lock on to a certain part of the family tree that way if you accidentally hit the home button or it refreshes you don't lose the area of the family tree you were working and have to scroll all the way back.

I love the Ancestry app! I work between this one and FS, but find the Ancestry 'Hints' most useful and great guides. Sometimes the updates through me for a loop, but I figure them out as the app and updates are usually fairly intuitive. Keep up the good work.
