The app has been stuck on an "updating screen" for months. Tried everything from clearing cache, storage, desinstalling, reinstalling...nothing works. Customer support gets you going in circle, impossible to get someone to help. I thought Google was better than this... Thank you for your answer but the issue is NOT resolved. I reinstalled the app, cleared all cache but message is the same: app is updating so you cannot access". And the link you provided keeps me going in circle with no help.

Service has improved a lot since its launch. But we need to validate cards twice, on phone and on the watch. I'm also facing issues in offline mode. I never know when I need to be online or not. When there is no network, it sometimes work and sometimes not 🤷. Playstore is definitely not the place to follow up user review, you're asking me to type all characters of a web link to reach the customer support 😳. Google software experience became bad, and it's all product policy and vision related.

Before making a purchase using a prepaid digital wallet, I checked the balance and found it was sufficient. When I went to pay, it wasn't enough! Checked in the app again and a new, lower balance was displayed. Google Pay can't be relied upon to provide accurate information, and it doesn't give any visual indication when numbers might be stale. Lots of room for improvement here.

Looks like i just missed out on all the 'working' features of this app, as I've had it installed for about a month and so far has not worked. Either with or without WiFi, and my android version goes up to six on my phone so I don't get it. Maybe the developer hasn't updated what he s done with it. No issues with adding my card but only seems to work in the house, not outside, and i have nfc enabled. Also, keeps telling me randomly it's updating, then screen goes off.

The last update made the application useless . When I open the application a message appears saying: The application is updating, you cannot access it now! Update: Thanks developers for your kind help and support. I followed your advice however, the same problem persists. Update: Please update the application, it is not working for more than 2 months.

Not as user friendly as it SHOULD be. You would think that Google could create and offer an app that's seamless, user friendly and intuitive. Nope. Two stars because it does add a little convenience when traveling by plane, when ordering online and you don't want to give out your credit card number... If the place you're ordering from works with Google pay.

The shelves feature is great for sorting. But I wish there were some some of auto sort feature. I've used the app for so long I have too many books to go back and add them to shelves. Maybe a checkbox to auto sort to shelves when downloading based on the book tags or anopportunity on/off feature that generally auto sorts your whole library, but can be turned off if you choose to personalize the sorting. The search feature never seems helpful enough with a large library.

Worked fine until 14 February and just stopped working. I've uninstall it, re installed it, rebooted my phone, cleared cache, cleared data, removed cards, re installed cards and still it doesn't work, not in that order, tried all combinations over last 2 weeks and just will not work. Was happy with it, now there's no point having it! Feeling stressed with it now! 19 May 2022 Update. Still doesn't work. Tried everything since 14 February 3 months later still not able to use this app. AVOID!!

Needs improvement. Gift cards often can't be saved. Instead, there's an "oops" prompt. A lot of options missing in terms of re-arranging and organising cards. Barcodes often don't auto generate for loyalty cards. An error sometimes shows up saying there's a security issue with my device, when there isn't. Then it works like normal.

Will not clear from the screen on "Google pay is currently updating so you wont be able to access this app" followed by large exclamation mark. Despite clearing cache and storage and uninstalling and reinstalling the message will not clear. I installed the app on another phone and got the same message. It's been like this for weeks now. Previously I had been using the app for years without any problems.

The app won't display card nicknames upfront, so if one has a lot of cards it's really hard to manage them quickly (it let's one set nicknames for cards, but one has to click each one to view the nickname). The app also doesn't seem to enable nicknames for accounts.\ Thanks for replying to the above review. Your answer does not address the problem I raised alas. To restate that issue: when a nickname is applied to a bank card, it does NOT appear on the main screen when choosing which payment method (you have to click each card individually to check the nickname) this makes it hard to use if you have a lot of cards. The second point was that nicknames can only be added to bank cards (not other payment methods like bank accounts) it seems.

I used it for over a year. Then, I've got a new OnePlus9 with Android 12 and, as many other are experiencing, it became a complete useless tool. The existing card did not work anymore. In addition, I've been trying to add a new card and many errors came up and still no solution. I had a chat with Google support, spent two hours talking with my bank and nobody can't fix the issue. This is not what you should call an update/upgrad. Anndroi12 and Google Pay are full of bugs. What's going on??

I was very happy with it until two days ago, I started seeing 'Google Pay is currently updating...' and it has been stuck like that ever since. I've searched for a solution online and tried clearing cache and data but still the same. It still works for online payments but I can't add cards or change default etc. Very disappointing.

Been trying to get this working on my Google Pixel 6 for roughly 7 hours with the aid of Google & Youtube but no luck, tried uninstalling, clearing data, clearing catche, everything recommended to me (apparently it's a common issue) since updating my Android software it's now stuck on 'this app is updating' for the last 3 hours & will not budge from there so I've eventually given up & accepted defeat. Such a shame as I found this very handy on my old handset as I used it pretty much every day.

Been happily using this for over a year for everything and then from about 26 March have tried multiple purchases, multiple times and it has excepted 2 transactions out of all of them. Same card, same phone, money in my account.Won't register any connections to terminal, no error message, no option to prompt, reboot etc just nothing. From comments this is obviously not just me or my phone or me doing something wrong it's an issue with recent software or settings updates (running on a Pixel 4)

Google keeps saying that issue with infinite "Updating" screen has been resolved in a recent update. But it's not true! I have downloaded a 141 version of the app and oh boy, it's working! And when you update it to the latest Play Store version it's not working! So the issue has not been fixed with any of the latest updates or the update hasn't even arrived, but dev keeps responding "It has been fixed already", no it's not! Where's your QA department looking? Why am I doing their job, Google?

App isn't working! I keep getting a message saying the transaction could not be completed even though I didn't make a transaction. It won't let me access my payment methods it just keeps given that message and goes to send money. At first it did allow me to add a payment methods and then said it couldn't be added. Then back to that same message. Most of the cards are actually expired and need to be updated but I can't!

As instructed I cleared cache, data and restarted the phone as well but the problem still remains. Whenever I open the app it still tells me I'm unable to use it because it's "updating". It's been like that for a month now and you guys haven't even released a new update for this version of the app on the play store. Last released update for this app was released on March 17 with nothing new after that to fix the issue.

I can't add any loyalty cards. Whenever I go into the part where you scan it and like a camera opens up to scan it, well that part won't show up and after a few seconds it just flips back to the initial list of loyalty stores to choose from. And I can't get any to work. All of them it just does the same thing.

Still unable to view loyalty cards on the lock screen like the iPhone. The current functionality is useless to most people, as they will pay with their default card anyway. Being able to scan a Nectar card or train ticket for example would be far more useful. Please just implement it the way Apple does, as it's far more user friendly and functional.

Excellent app, prefer it over other "virtual wallet" apps. Easy-to-use straightforward UI. Has been buggy before putting me in a difficult situation during a transaction but hoping it won't happen again since it is the only app that allows me to input my debit card so far. Also, widgets would be nice for independent cards.

This is a very convenient feature but I've had nothing but issues with this app... Couldn't add CC at all through the app, managed to do it through the online auto fill option that saves your credentials when paying. Tried to add another CC and didn't work. Found the option through my online banking app to add CC to Google pay and it worked again. It shows only 1 CC in the app... But when you use the auto fill option when checking out online it shows both. Beyond annoying

It works and all that, but there is no setting to make it a requirement to authorize every payment. In Ireland the limit for no authorization payment is 50 euro - its a lot of money to spent without any control. I had to deactivate gpay and remove my credit card from it even though its very convenient. Until there is a setting to require explicit authorization for each transaction even if the phone is unlocked, I will not use gpay.

Have been using this app for months very easily. From this morning i have been told multiple times payment is denied on both registered cards even though there are plenty of funds in both accounts. I managed to get one transaction to go through and tried to book another parking space with the same card and it denied the payment. Ridiculous been playing up periodically since the last update and now doesnt work at all!

This app is great except for one thing: whenever I try to use my Smart Trip card to access the DC metro, if I'm low on value and try to add value, the two-step authentication process becomes a three-step process. I'm asked to enter my password twice and also confirm through two step authentication before I can add money to the card and pay. Please, please fix! No fun waiting at the gate while I take forever to add money.

Couldn't get contactless payment to work with most of my credit cards. Also can't delete a credit cars from the app because I apparently have it setup to pay something, but doesnt tell me what its paying. My credit card is being held hostage by the app and I'll likely need to cancel the card because of Google. 2 stars for the 2 cards that I got to work (one debit and one credit card).

Super frustrated; cleared app cache, restarted phone, still stuck in "updating". Can't open a ticket as cannot access in-app support. Furthermore, clicking the link you previously provided in dev feedback sees me stuck in a perpetual loop where it tells me that the link is incorrect and that I should use a different one, then that redirects to Google Pay India, which a) isn't the same app, and b) I'm not in India! 😶
