AnyMote Universal Remote +WiFi

It's the only Android universal tv remote that can do that, while controlling any other device too!

Not compatible with LG G3 A or LG G3 S)Smart Remote works with Samsung Galaxy S4 to S6 (not with S7 due to hardware limitations), HTC and Medion devices with an InfraRed Blaster, and most other brand phone/tablet with an IR Blaster that runs Android 4.4 or above provided by the manufacturer. I've used this app as an IR Remote on my Galaxy Tab 4 for 3 years and it works fantastic. It does take considerable work to set it up but that goes hand in hand with it's power and flexibility. I took off one star due to the fact feedback from developers is painstakingly slow (weeks) but more importantly the built in backup/restore functionality failed me and I now have to rebuild all my remotes.

If this app was fully fleshed-out it would be the best one on the store. I have a Sony 930e and it just features a small portion of the actual remote. I also have a problem with the app connecting to the TV and staying connected but I don't have any other apps. But I will say the three layer drawer in my notification window that I can customize is my favorite part of the app and absolutely perfect for what I needed it for Being that you can also do Wi-Fi devices with Android TV, I wish it was fully-featured to have a mouse with a pointer. I use another app called remote for Android for that, but this app and that app seem to conflict so I have to leave that one uninstalled until I need it. I feel like this is basically like most of the other apps but it just has a really nice skin and UI. But I bought it so I hope they improve aswell and it is still my main remote.

This remote is great. It's got its quirks, it doesn't really close unless your force stop it, the back button is on a different screen than the rest of the buttons (on the samsung remote option), and you need to clear data/cache occasionally, but it saved me from buying a new remote and it seems like the devs are working to fix these issues.

I used to like this app a lot. It does have some good features. I do not know how well this works on the newer devices but for all of my devices it helps in a pinch. You can set up your own custom remote with only the buttons you want from any other remote you have added. This app no longer works with voice anymore so if you want a remote that can do that you may want to look into another app. Backup and restore still works for me as long as google does not delete its google+

Ads are relentless, AND features are limited. One or the other makes sense, but both at once is a problem. This app does not have IR compatibility with the LG G4, so it wouldn't be worth the $7 I'd have spent on it. I'm disappointed because this app looks like it could be really cool, but the price is too high for what it is, especially since the "demo" is such a pain to use. I can't test the features I'm interested in without a pop up ad with sound every 60 seconds.

Pros: connects to Apple TV and some features work, such as arrow keys and OK button. Cons: poor/no support and worst of all is that it does not send text to Apple TV, which means you still have to go through the painstaking letter-picking process the Apple remote makes you go through... (which in fact is the main reason I sought out for a phone app to control the Apple TV in the first place) Going to seek for a different Apple TV control app that allows for text typing.

I have been using this app for a few years now on an old HTC one m8, because it has a zapper. Brilliant app. However, recently, after making some changes to the onscreen display, I am no longer able to back it up, either thru cloud back up or Web editor upload. Google plus sign in just spins round and round and Web editor just says there are no messages. As things stand, if I have to reset the phone i will lose all my settings. Hopefully you can fix this and I will revise to 5 stars. Thanks

I do like the app....as rickety as it is. it seems to work well.... however after editing the remote for a while and using the small banner ads to help support the app I started to (suddenly) get full screen ads. A lot of them! so I go to find it will be $7... I can literally buy a universal remote at the 99 cent store here in Los Angeles!! To be fair, simply turning my wiFi off seems to cure the problem however I think Google needs to re-evaluate their priorities.

Update: I can no longer download new remotes or select new devices... which means it doesn't work. This app allowed me to build a custom remote that controls my LG TV, Spectrum cable box, Yamaha receiver (with bonus buttons) and no-name HDMI switcher... all from one screen! I bought an old Galaxy S5 just for this app and I'm pretty happy with it (except the app's cloud storage doesn't seem to work). Also looking forward to a stable Amazon Fire remote.

Adds are obstructive to the user experience. I can't even give the app a walk through to determine if it is worth anything. I suggest a free trial period with registration or some other way of showing off the app without giving the user full screen adds for 5 seconds every time they go from one screen to the next... imagine using anything like this, let alone one out of a hundred apps that pretty much do the same thing.

I purchased this app because I wanted to use the IR blaster on my HTC One M8 to control my TV from the notification area. It does that very well, and is very customisable as to which commands can be used. I use the specific HDMI inputs to quickly swap between the PC and Chrome cast. Can be a little daunting to get it set up just right and the notification should only appear when on my home WiFi but it comes on when I'm on any WiFi network. Minor points for a great app

I have a second generation Apple TV which is notoriously difficult to control over WiFi and a 2013 Samsung Smart TV which Samsung's own Smart View app doesn't recognize over WiFi. I've tried the Peel remote app and the Cider TV remote app, both of which pale in comparison. Anymote isn't perfect, but it's by far the best I've found so far.

Excellent and highly configurable, this is the goto remote I use. It controls my Wemo, Xbox S, 2 different TVs, and a Toshiba DVD player. I lost the remote to one TV and couldn't access the menu to re-scan channels...now I can! I can remap buttons, configure the notification bar and remap those buttons too, change the colors, backup the remote configurations. A little pricey but everything is all here in one remote instead of numerous apps with ads (ads go away after purchase.) All of this on my Galaxy S4:)

Very good app, it works with my old Sherwood amplifier, even if some tinkering is required (you can rename the buttons!) The low point is that some ads have sound and they ruin the music being played. So streaming with this remote can be interrupted. The paid version solves this issue and I am considering buying the bullet.

This is a great app to use if you have a IR laser on your phone but I'm able to control things I have that I don't have a remote to which is great! Only issue I'm having with my stereo (MX 3900D) Some controls don't work and does the opposite to what the controls does, like for a example. When I click volume up for my sub it goes down, but when I go down it goes up so some things are backwards but still great to use, but please fix this issue I have.

"The AnyMote apps and the AnyMote Home hub are now discontinued. October 9, 2021 When we set out to build AnyMote, the vision for it has always been to give you control over the myriad of devices in your home in a way that is unified, friendly, and truly smart. While we believe that was a noble goal and that we've gotten relatively close to it, what we also learned over time is that herding so many different types of cats is a problem that needs a completely different level of investment than"

It keeps telling me there is no Internet connection. The wifi and Internet work just fine. I've tried this app on 3 different android phones where there are no Internet problems and the result was the same. The app cannot download remotes as it claims there is no Internet. This is clearly an app problem and it should be addressed urgently if the developer want to keep the app on the Google play store.

The remote for my old JVC crt tv died, but the tv still works. I didn't really want to spend money on a replacement remote, and I couldn't get my other programmable remotes to work for this tv. I downloaded another app that didn't work at all, then tried this one. Had little hope at this point. I jumped go joy when I tried one of the JVC options given (5th one I think) and the tv turned off - yay! Used the app to turn it back on, and tried all the buttons and they all work. Took me a bit to see that there is another screen - swipe left - with more functions than volume and channel. Soooo happy!

I downloaded this because my 4 year old lost our remote for our TV. It worked, but only the one time after I downloaded it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, which worked once, but then stopped. I was on the same wifi network as the ap, I had all the right connections, but it kept telling me it couldn't connect because it wasn't on the same wifi network, which it was. If I could give no stars, I would. Just buy a universal remote. It's much easier.

Best remote there is. Only downside is 8.1 its just very buggy. Have to set it to use other ir blasters in settings and sometimes it just completely stops working and have to restart the phone to get it working. Yesterday i added a samsung tv to the list and it fully broke and had to reinstall the whole app to get working. Fix this and I'll be more then happy to go 5 stars Great fun to sit in stores and play around with there TVs ;) confuses the hell out of people 😂

This will make the seventh remote app I've installed in my ever reliable HTC One M9. I got rid of ALL the others because of their debilitating ads. Why keep something that I have to wait a minute or more to be able to use. It's March 27, 19 and if your app doesn't slow my life down because of ads I'll buy the full version in 1 month. I'm hoping for the best !!

i use this to control my apple TV because it sits in a cabinet out of line-of-site with its stock remote. Works great, very reliable. My only complaints keeping this from 5 stars is that the keyboard function on the app doesnt work with the apple TV so searching things is still a pain in the @$$ because i have to scroll and select one character at a time. And the free version only lets you set one remote... which is fine, but the paid version is 10$.. thats waaaaay to much.
