This used to be good. Then they added a recycle bin with no option to disable it, and the junk I tried delete to free up much needed space just hung around, continuing to waste space I needed. Since there's no option to simply empty the recycle bin, I had to delete everything a second time. One Piece At A Time! This is horrible design work, it destroyed the app's usefulness, and has driven me to delete the damn thing.
Visually pleasing on layout, straightforward functionality for finding and removing unwanted files. Biggest drawback is looking through picture files is overwhelming, because 1) the icons from apps are included, and 2) the pictures are shown very close up without a lot of space in between each one, which makes them hard to process.
Best Android File Manager until factory reset. Since factory reset, I am unable to add or view my cloud drives dispite uninstalling and reinstalling Astro. Now completely unusable. Apparently Google has blocked access to this app due to security factors. Have to uninstall and look for a more secure app.
Recently access to Google Drive was denied. Without it app is useless to me. It also got very slow and buggy. Also trash can feature was added and it can not be disabled. Very disappointing since I used to love it and use it a lot. Now I am deleting it.
Used to be great, one of my favorites but dropped to one star recently bc they lost ability to connect to cloud drives like Google drive and one drive rendering it useless. Uninstalled. Now have been to find another one. Not happy.
I've used this for years. It's been my go to file manager thru my last 5 phones and 2 tablets. Unfortunately, it no longer connects to my Google drive, which makes this useless to me. Very Disappointed.
Useful for access to files when I occasionally need to. Am not a heavy user. One annoyance is that I have noticed recently that when it displays pictures, it hides the 3 buttons at bottom of screen and doesn't show a back button. So, to leave that picture or the app, I have to lock and unlock phone, which causes those buttons to reappear where they belong.
Been using this app for many years and loved it. Now, one of the important features I use the app for is gone. I like to keep shortcuts to certain folders on my home screen for quick access (mostly work documents). Since the last update the shortcuts no longer work. They only open the Astro app. Without this feature, I no longer need the app and will uninstall and part ways with Astro File Manager. I thought updates were to improve an app, not remove features.
I have managed to create backups of my apps to a SD card. When I get the message you should consider updating the backup I then have to remember which one it was and scroll down over 100 apps to find it to make the backup. It would be handy to back it up without having to scroll to find it from memory. Why can't you update from a pop up menu. Does the job well. But time consuming. But I may be doing something wrong.
This was my goto file manager because it accessed my memory card without a problem as well as Google drive. Now it can't connect anymore to Google drive. They also added a bin which you can't disable.
Restrictive. No option to open a directory by path. Zero customization options. Trash feature is Trash, you can't disable it, you can't 'select all' in trash directory, you can't select multiple files is trash as tapping on each file takes the view to the top, so scroll to bottom to select the next file. It caches attached NAS file names, so files from NAS appear in search results even when the NAS is not available. Example of a good app gone lazy and stagnant beyond redemption.
It woks great and is easy to use. I can open my word files from my PC on my Chromne book.I even have it on my cell phone for just incase. Once my son showed it to me I will not be with out it.
Very confusing to move files from internal storage to sd card .old versions were very simple to do this transfer.I an uninstalling this version and installing a much older version .when something thing is done correct the first time why change it that turns people away to use an another app .your losing users to use your app.if I can't find a old version of this app I will look for a different app that does the same job.the old saying if it ain't broken left it as it is
I am a completely blind user and usually have difficulty using apps this I have four nearly five because it's one of the easiest tile managers I've found. It works well with the accessibility apps and talk back the only problem I have is unlabeled buttons which I kind of have to feel my way through but that's okay that's one thing I have is probably a lot of apps that have several buttons that are unlabeled to the TalkBack that I'm sharing labels otherwise your names. Great at so far if it's bet
Clicked on the Android folder on internal storage. Apart from it showing the loading animation for 10 minutes, nothing happened. Oh and I hope the internal storage "Free up space" is supposed to load, but it hasn't in over the same 10 mins.
App take quite sometime when opening. It takes 1.6 sec when opening from sleep. Unlike other file managers that open Instantly. Already tested it in 2 devices with sd730, sd865. Btw I'm on android 12
A super app for viewing the structure of your phone files - great for doing house cleaning tasks like moving, copying, deleting etc.
Used to be good but getting bloated and corporitized. Google Drive mysteriously broken and no way to log a bug report!
Thank-you Astro Developers for the most reliable app on the Android market. I'm using it on an Android based, media streambox to maintain multiple storage drives. It does everything your marketing claims and then some.
I've been looking for an app that would do a sideshow from images on an sd card. This is one of the few that offer that but there is a bar across the top that shows the file name that covers about 10% of the image. There is also a bar across the bottom for no reason that I can think of. This doesn't work for me, I'm interested in seeing the images not the image names.
Used to be great. Won't let you connect Google Drive account anymore. What happened to this app. :(
Looks like a good file manager but there is no option to back up files or settings anywhere that I've seen, despite the claims that it supports backups. The website's faq page doesn't load for me and the independent tutorials I've googled for Astro all say to swipe to the side, but when I do this nothing happens. I'm not sure if the app changed recently and now all the information is outdated? But the description that you can back up with this app is not true.
Fairly straightforward gives complete access to both internal and external storage, Good set of features. One of the best ones out there.
The APP have started crashing after the phone updated to OneUI 4.0 Based on Android 12. I tried the below but still crashing: 1. Clear cache. 2. Clear data. 3. Clear cache and data both. 4. Uninstall and reinstall. 5. Etc. But its crashing only. Kindly fix this ASAP!
Like others, I can't access my Google drive which renders it useless to me. I'd been unable to add my Google account after it had suddenly stopped working recently but now I've received the message "This app is blocked. This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account. To keep your account safe, Google blocked this access.". What has changed that Google has had to do this? I loved Astro's clean interface which other apps don't have. Very disappointed.
