ASUS PixelMaster Camera

After upgrading to Android V. 10, camera has stopped working. Earlier I never had any issues with front camera or the flip action. It was quite smooth. After the update, there's been some problem with the front camera. Once it is flipped for Selfie more, the camera hangs, app goes black, and doesn't respond to touches. The other apps also cannot use the camera. Once restarted, as long as you're in the rear mode it works. As and when you flip for Selfie mode, it stops again.

TLDR: It seems the app is too reliant on using laser focus, and forgot to let phase focus take over when laser focus doesn't work on distant objects. So touch screen doesn't work. Long Version: I used to love this app on my Asus 3 Zoom, since it allows me to fully manually control my ISO, Shutter Speed . But now this app is bugged. When I opened the app and tried to use touch screen to focus, often times the touch screen no longer works, or only work for a split second and then no longer works. As a result I can only take photos with the physical volume button, meaning most pictures would be out of focus/focused on the wrong thing. Common fixes like clearing the cache and data doesn't help at all. I did some testing and I am pretty certain that this is related to the laser auto focus no being able to pick up a return signal. I know this because if I put my hand right in front of the laser focus sensor, the touch screen will work and I can focus on my hand. But right when I remove my hand and the laser focus had to look at distant things, the touch screen immediately stops working. I would gladly give a 5 star rating after fix.

With anti-shake enabled, most photo results are clean and crisp. Great quality for cropping. Dissatisfied with daytime skyline pics. IE: The sky is full of purple- red clouds that cause the daylight to appear redish, the resulting photo is of flat, pinkish-orange, clouds. The eye & screen show visible variations in the clouds (density, depth & distance). The photo result is a flat, boring mess. A child's finger painting has more depth. Doesn't give many options in the video settings.

Like a lot of people recently, my camera has suddenly stopped working. Occasionally it will work for maybe one picture, and then the camera app goes back to spontaneously closing every time I try to use it. None of the other apps that use the camera work either, such as an app I use to identify species when working in the field. If there isn't a solution soon, I'll be needing a new phone.

I love it. but now, when i open it, and i try to record, i can't press stop, the pause button is grayed out and when i open it again, it completely crashes! And now I'm trying to look for a new camera and all of the ones i find either require th is one or don't work. LIKE SERIOUSLY

After most recent update (firmware/system) the camera on my phone stopped working. I factory reset twice. First time, it didn't work. 2nd, the camera did work but sometime after I restored the backup from my gdrive it started crashing and giving a persistent black screen once more. I'm convinced it's a software issue since I had no other issues prior to the update and the hardware did perform momentarily after the 2nd factory reset. Fix por favor.

The clarity was gone after updates.previously it was so good but now all noise in images. Update : 03.05.2020 Now with the new problem, my camera wasn't focusing on the image,only centre part of the image iam getting clear and the remaining part of the image gets blur and high in noise. Tried all settings with expert suggestions but it won't work.

I've have increasing issue with the camera app lately. It started with errors that would back me out to home screen and then start going straight to a black screen and nothing else. Clearing data used to fix the issue for a day but now that doesn't even work and the camera is completely useless.

Optical Image stabilization on the Asus ROG phone is not functioning well as most pictures taken are blur with a slight shake even though the shutter is quick. Please apply a noise filter as most photos has noise even in the day light condition and gets worst when you zoom. Please implement a flash (LED) touch focus for taking dark/night photos so that it will decrease time to focus when taking pictures.

The recent update makes my phone auto shut down! What the hell!? Everytime I try to take a photo, it drains the battery like at a high speed, even though my battery power are still at 50%! I don't know what makes this app's getting worse, but it always drain my battery at high speed, even though my battery still have enough power to take some photos! After 1 or 2 takes, BAM, auto shut down! What the hell!?

I am using Asus 6z (48 MP). The quality of photos clicked are keeps decreasing on every update. Night or low light captured photos are very poor in quality. Initially when I've purchased smartphone, the quality of photos clicked by this app was great but, now it capturing poor quality images. It decreases clearness of photos when saved to storage.

Sometimes my z6 camera get an error. It happens on all 48mp mode (high fps 4K, 48mp photo, timelapse etc). If i go to photo settings, the 48mp option is missing. Only 13mp, 10mp and 8mp appears. Usually i restart the phone and problem fixed. But nowadays not easy like that. And i realize that logo in the middle bottom (logo for switching between left and right cam) is gone. Now only left cam (under "flip" text) is working. Big possibilites because of that. I have a video proof of that error.

I love the camera....when it works. Right now it isn't. At some point, after certain updates it will work again. Last time it quit working was when my cell restarted itself and hasn't worked since. I'll go for months without the camera working. Wish I knew how to correct this. Takes great pictures though

I'm giving 4* because when you take photos in complete dark with flash the camera sensor is mostly confused about focus give shaking images. And 2nd thing i think it's not problem but the images are very smooth when you do pintch zoom but that smoothness is little bit problem when you wanted to take a photo of the important documents with small letters so that time you definitely have have sharp photos to read the letters in documents. I hope you can consider this review. Otherwise excellent work

After updated to android 10. Camera keep said overheat and need to shutdown. Very frustrated 😡 after take few pictures then force shutdown in the very important moment. I don't know how will it go when filming video. I can't imagine how fed up will be ....... Previous version android don't have this kind of matter .

Just reset my phone to "factory" default and this got installed. I will not give the app access to microphone because it does not need it to take pictures, so now I have to find a different app. This is pathetic considering how much you pay for your phone and they want apps tonhave way to many permissions.

cant turn off sounds. sound volume doesnt affect camera sounds either. modes does not keep theyalways revert back to automode when switching apps. slowmotion is garbage it just does timelapse. the result is horrible and why it even reduces the resolution for 7fps timelapse ????

This was a good app. It could be be because of my phone it's very old but it always either ends up as a black screen or as if somethings wrong with it. I'm try uninstalling updates and installing it again. But the pic not very clear when I take photos.

this camera has a lot of issues with it the worst one is that a can't take a simple picture that looks great I've tried different routes but for some reason it won't just simply click and shoot it has delays and awkward Timing System in it for focusing and whatever it's doing that makes the photos turn out crappy

very buggy camera, when used through programs such as Google Keep it takes FOREVER to take a photo. I've had more negative experiences with the performance of this app than I care to remember, thIs combined with the Zenphone 3 cellphone is a really bad, slow acting camera, I remember when I bought the Asus Zenphone 3 how they bragged how fast the camera was to take photo's. They were very wrong!

i would give 5 star for the older version. the new version have some problems. when i zoom a little bit also, the picture quality becomes very low. i know that zoom can lower the picture quality but aftet this update it destroys the picture quality. #ASUS fix it as fas as you can.

Can I ask what JPEG quality/compression ratio does this app use? The picture quality is absolutely awful! And the size... 3 to 5 megabytes on average for a 13-megapixel image is simply put... indecent! That's such a pity because... the manual controls and the amount of customization are GREAT! Why did you ruin this app with such heavy JPEG compression? So much highlight-shadow information is lost along with it. Please, put an option for choosing the JPEG quality in a future update, or make it 100 by default! Also, maybe you'd be kind enough to ask Asus developers to include RAW support for the Zenfone Zoom. Thank you!

Initially this app was satisfactory. One year later images have a yellow tint and are often blurry. The HDR feature is no improvement and just requires camera app to process which requires another 6 seconds between shots.

Hi! After the Pie update, my main camera has been blurring the sides of my photos even though the depth effect was already turned off, how can I fix this? I already tried clearing cache, restoring camera settings, opening using safe mode. Please help, my phone is over a year now so if I ever bring it to our service station, it will no longer be covered by warranty

Since the recent update my camera is starting with a black screen then closes the app after awhile not responding. This is really frustrating. I see others commenting on here, its about time you fixed it.

Got problem with the camera. Can't use flash during video and then suddenly can't use video. I try to unistall and re-installed it and it worked again. I hope to have more updates to this app.
