With AT&T Messages you can send and receive text and pictures messages from your tablet or computer. It used to be a very good app to see messages on my tablet. Now it has gotten worse. The notification keeps telling me I have unread messages, search and can not find any. It is sporadic on whether or not it will download messages. there is no refresh button, so I will have to restart then it might collect messages. Hope they can make it more useful again.

It just doesn't work. There are long delays (1-4 hours) before you recieve messages, assuming you get them at all (seems like you get maybe 20% of your messages). For some reason you can't set up a default messges app on AT&T tablets, so it also doesn't work for the purpose I bought it for, which is using the GrubHub drivers app and maps app open at the same time. When you send messages from this app, it doesn't sync to your phone. It's just garbage.

I can't get the app to work. I sign in, it spis, quickly goes to the setup screen, then goes back to the main sign in screen. I have called ATT a few times, but that is always frustrating. After an hour of troubleshooting, they say they have to submit a ticket, which is code for `I can't fix your issue, get off my phone!'. Very disappointing!! *Update* I went into the messenger setttings on the phone I was trying to sync, turned on backup & sync, it finally works. Att tech didnt know that step.

My experience is horrible. Tried connecting many many many times. Keeps giving me error code 4007. Goes to connect, then closes the app or gives error messages. I had no problem with numbersync. Why an issue with messaging. I pay good money for these services, I thought AT&T was solid. I'm starting to wonder. Can't even get a messaging app to work. 90's AOL didn't have a problem connecting people on a 56k. What's the deal.

Doesn't work very well. I have to sign in every 2 minutes. I can't stayed signed in long enough for the tablet to sync with the messages on my phone. And, yes, I did check the box saying to keep me signed in. What's the point of having this app? Update: It no longer works. Can't use it & I can't remove the app... pre-installed. Tried installing several other text messaging app but they won't work either. Don't know it AT&T has something in place that I need to change to use another app or what!

This app has been unusable for many, since 2016, according to it's reviews. I have a new Galaxy 8A tablet. No other app will sync for AT&T, we are told by our rep. Texts are days or weeks old when they do appear with this app. AT&T has been aware of this since 2016. They need to retire this broken app and replace it with one that works for tablets. Don't waste your time. Accept that your tablet can't sync with your phone if you have AT&T. I'm beginning to be sorry we left Cox for an ATT bundle.

I have used this in the past and was not happy . It stores all your text in the at&t cloud also. Samsung makes a great app.( call and text from other devices )unfortunately at&t disables this feature. I feel if one pays $1800 for a phone and over $100 a month in service that a carrier should not disable a very important feature that was built into a phone that a customer purchased. Many have contacted at&t to try to get this feature added back into their phone but no one has any luck. 😡😡😡

Horrible!!! At&t is feeling more and more like Sprint!!!! Can't sign in at all! I try signing in and it goes to the next screen acting like it's going to connect then BAM!! Screen comes up and says contact customer care to connect, error code 4007. Then another little box pops up and says connection expired, your message did not send, it has been saved in your inbox. How in the heck do you even get that message when you can't even get signed on for the connection to expire in the first place!!?

This app came with my S4, but it is worthless. it keeps trying to send me an access pin to my tablet when it won't even receive or send messages. I have since done numerous tweaks and updates, and even bought e spanking new Samsung S4 tablet, and it STILL does not work. It acts like it is setting up an account then it goes right back to the login screen. I've been screwing around with this since back in 2019..over a year, and it's still garbage. AT&T, can't you FIX THIS, so it actually works?

App is worthless at this point. Changing the app to where it only works with certain phones and only accessible through a app designed only for tablets defeats the purpose of having it. Messages don't download!!! Uninstalling the app doesn't help either because once you reinstall it you have to get another code as if you're a first time user. AT&T should have left well enough alone. Not worth wasting space. Not even accessible via website either!!!!

Simply doesn't work since last update. It sometimes will not login. It will never remember your login despite ticking the remember me button on login screen. Always has to perform 2- step authentication on login. What if all you had was your tablet and could not access main cell phone at the moment? Once you do login, it fails to sync. If it doesn't fail to sync, it will fail to receive any new messages or send any at all after a few minutes. Useless resolution for pic or video sharing. 👎

My Samsung Tablet was supposed to sync with Samsung S-7 on ATT. Every year it gets more and more difficult or impossible to get the tablet using this App to accept a login. Called ATT tech support and they said "check to see if you have latest version." Normally the latest update would be pushed to the device, right? AT&T just stalling with clunky server issues, maybe, but can't use this app on tablet for now.

Just when you thought this app couldn't get any worse they updated it and yes it can be worse. Instead of and occasional message not going every message errors. Have to close the app and reopen to get it to send. But now the notification won't go away until l restart the tablet. I wish AT&T would take the time to make a better app.

Abysmal This used to be a decent app but now it's junk and I've uninstalled it. It is constantly running in the background, yet it only updates intermittently, if at all. It also does a terrible job of keeping in sync with messages sent from other devices and vice versa, likely related to it's update problems. It's become a waste of time and I just go on the web now for this, which is unfortunate, because this app is supposed to eliminate that.

I bought the S4 tablet with keyboard cover featured at an ATT store with display verbage of ATT Messages and NumberSync. The concept is great. My experience is disappointing. The AT&T Messages for Tablet app will not stay loaded. I get an error message the next time I use it. The only option I have is to uninstall and reinstall from the PlayStore. This is getting super old!!! Regretting this purchase.

This app is horrible so far. i have a new att data tablet and have been trying to get this to work so i can see and respond to my text messages on my tablet. It will only go to the login screen and then back out. I "uninstalled" 3x and got as far as getting a pin number on my phone to put in. It still reverted back to the log in screen and would no go any further. This App needs a serious update to fix all the glitches so that it can be used for the purpose intended.

I really want to give this app 5 stars... but I can't. I work off my Chromebook so having the text message feature on my device keeps me from reaching for my phone often. It takes forever to sync and most of the time it lags, freezes and crashes. I am not a techie by any means but surely there has to be a fix for this somehow. If the bugs are fixed it would be 5 stars hands down.

Not sure what the problem is for most of the other reviews. Only problem I had was figuring out the right user id and password to use since my global ATT id wouldn't work. Once I figured it out it works great on my Amazon Fire 8 plus tablet. Syncs with my phone automatically. My guess is most people don't have message backup and sync turned on in their messaging app on the phone or use a third party texting app on their phone instead of the one it came with.

I've used this app for years with few problems, but with the latest update in 10/2018 the app doesn't seem to get messages immediately as it used to and I often have to restart my device to make it sync. It also requires me to re-login WAY too often, which never happened before. Very disappointing.

Use to love this app; like the previous comments, I loved being able to read & respond to text messages when my phone wasn't available. Very disappointed when it stopped working properly. I am a long-term Att costumer and don't have plans to leave, but don't create something that works fine then do an update and render the app useless. So far I haven't seen any comments to address the problem and when a resolution can be expected. By resolution, I mean fixing the app so that it works properly

The app has never worked correctly. It was difficult to set up. After several calls to the support line, it worked briefly, then crashed. With some effort I was able to get it working for a day or two ant it crashed again. At this point, I have not been able to get the app to launch. I get an error message that the app has stopped working.

Installed and logged in, but error code 4007, told me to call 611 for assistance. After 30 minutes on the phone and three people, I learned that it didn't work because my wifi-only (non-cellular) tablet was not "associated with" my AT&T account. If I wanted that to happen, I'd have to pay a $20 monthly "access fee." Maybe it's me, but $20/mo just to be able to send/receive texts seems a little excessive.

Every few days, inbound messages stop being delivered to app. To make it work again, i have to clear data. This means re-login to AT&T account followed by entering a PIN sent to my mobile phone. Joined beta program, gave detailed info to help troubleshoot, but no response and no beta apks to try after 2 months. Clearly, this app is not actively supported and even showstopping issues do not matter. This app is only for novelty. Not usable if you need to receive your text messages reliably.

Absolute worst message app for years! I have been an AT&T customer for over 20 yrs, never used this app because it's so limiting. Now I'm having to use it to sync my msgs with my tablet. Yes, I can get msgs, that's it. No options to pin people or conversations, to change colors or themes, to change notification icon/color, and every time I go into msgs on my tablet, I have to re-select "view unread only." AT&T, you should be ashamed of how few resources you have put into this, it's pathetic.
