Atlas Eólico e Solar do Ceará

The new Wind and Solar Atlas of Ceará makes available to society and the energy market a modern and innovative tool to support the development of the renewable energy supply chain in the state, a sector in which Ceará has historically played a leading role.

The new Atlas, which was developed based on an agreement between ADECE, FIEC and SEBRAE, shows the mapping of the most promising areas for investments in wind and solar photovoltaic generation projects in the state of Ceará, has the innovative conception of being hybrid, and brings considerable improvements compared to similar ones made in Brazil.

In addition to relying on the traditional print version, Atlas is available on an interactive online web platform with a smartphone application developed by FUNCEME. Another innovative aspect is to have a simulation tool focused on distributed power generation, a market that has been growing rapidly in recent years, being formed by more than 90% by companies whose revenues in this segment are in the range of micro and small companies. The new Atlas is available in two languages, Portuguese and English, making it easier for investors and those interested in prospecting areas to build power plants.

Aware of future trends, the Atlas also features offshore wind mapping to indicate the most promising offshore regions of the state, which show exceptional conditions for the development of offshore wind generation, as it has high capacity factors on a low continental shelf. depth. The Atlas also includes analyzes on wind behavior in Ceará and its natural advantage in a market with a tendency to trade energy on a hourly basis.

The technical conception of the project was developed by the State Infrastructure Secretariat (SEINFRA) based on sector demands identified by the Ceará Renewable Energy Sectoral Chamber aligned with the long-term planning established by the Ceará 2050 Program of the Ceará State Government. The work was coordinated by FIEC and carried out by Camargo Schubert with UL Truepower, companies with recognized competence in the renewable energy sector.

Prioritization for the implementation of this new Wind and Solar Atlas has been reinforced by
Strategic Energy Route, an integral part of the FIEC Industry Observatory, with the broad participation of the sector's specialists, combining the dentified opportunities with the regional development programs of the Ceará State Government. To this end, the Atlas highlights the semi-arid areas with little attractiveness for conventional investments, but with enormous potential for energy generation, with the corresponding creation of jobs and income.

Increasing the competitiveness of renewable energy sources and consequently the
Their increased participation in the national energy matrix offers a great opportunity for business, investment and development. The new Atlas is aligned with this reality and comes to collaborate with the creation of a favorable environment for the growth of this segment in the State of Ceará.
