Audio Recorder

Suddenly stopped working a while ago. Record button was greyed out. No indication of why. Uninstalled and reinstalled at the advice of other users, and it worked for a while, then the same problem recurred. Then again a few weeks later. Annoying, as when it works, it works well. Having to periodically reinstall and reset your preferences is a nuisance.

The recorder is great. I use it frequently. Just wish it could be changed to MP3 format for uploading without going through a converter. And do not use the transcription service, as it's not even close to accurate and the price is rediculous for what I received. It would have taken less time for me to type it out myself as opposed to fixing the mess they sent me!!!! So mad and unhappy!

Nailed it, Sony! Thanks so much for this amazing free app. I love it from soup to nuts. The meters are great. The buttons are perfect. The filer is perfect. The quality of the audio path is pristeen. Playback is dandy. Useability is mighty fine. Please do not ever change it. The wave and mp3 encoding are tight. This career audio engineer loves you!!

This is the best free & ad-free sound recorder out there. It's a shame that the latest/last version adds an obnoxious nag screen every single time you start it. However, you can avoid this if you download the previous version ("Sony Audio Recorder 2.01.41 (noarch) (Android 4.4+)") at APKMirror. The only difference (that I can tell) between that version and this one is the lack of the obnoxious nag screen.

Same issue being described by many. Continues to give message that it can't record because mic is being used by another app. I went through every app in phone and removed mic permissions just to see what would happen. No change. So the app is basically useless now. Otherwise it was a 5 star app prior to this issue.

It's good for what it is. Don't have any experience with other app recorders so I don't have much of a reference. Why does this app need access to the 'phone' in addition to microphone and storage? (I imagine this means phone calls). The description says "handles incoming calls" Can this app record phone calls? Because it's not obvious how.

Works great but it would be nice if they released a new version that removes the warning about the transcription service going away, which happened last year. They should have built something into the app to stop showing it after some date if they weren't going to release a new version.

The app will no longer record audio, it says another app iss using the microphone. I have removed the permission of all my other apps so I can use it but it still won't work. I've done everything I can think of to troubleshoot shoot the issue but it still won't work.
