Backgrounds HD (Wallpapers)

I've used Backgrounds HD for several years now and I used to really enjoy the app; however, it has taken a significant turn for the worse. My main frustration with the more recent version(s) of the app is this weird new issue I'm having (perhaps a bug). Because of this issue or bug, no matter which wallpaper I choose, the app eventually just automatically reverts to one of 3 or 4 beach wallpapers. I've gone into the app's settings and have tried to see if there is any setting in there that would correct this behavior, but to no avail. I just can't seem to find what the cause of this is! And, it doesn't matter if I choose a new wallpaper from within the Backgrounds HD app or if I select an image from the photo gallery on my phone, no matter what I do, my phone still eventually reverts back to these 3 or 4 random beach images. I've even tried clearing the app's cache but that doesn't help. It's extremely frustrating! This became so annoying, that I've recently uninstalled the app from my phone! What is the point of having a wallpaper app if it has a mind of its own and reverts back to the same 3 wallpapers of its own choosing? It would be nice if this app had a setting that allowed the user to automatically change their wallpaper based on a selected time interval (such as every 1 hour, 3 hours, day, etc.). But, the user should be allowed to decide which wallpaper is chosen; perhaps one from one of the user's selected groups or favorites. Sadly though, I don't see any setting like this. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see it. It's really a shame that I had to remove this app as there are so many beautiful wallpapers to be found via the app's community! Hopefully your experience is better than mine.

I've used this app for a long time and really loved the backgrounds. However since you radically changed the user interface and now use tags instead of categories I'm finding it confusing and difficult to navigate and view images. Tags aren't helpful unless I already know exactly what I want. With categories I could browse a general concept and be pleasantly surprised with everything related to that topic. Now it's a disappointing experience.

I've been using it for years and all I can say that the app with each update is getting worst and worse. It takes unbelievable amount of clicks to change the background. The developers are disconnected from real users pushing useless features that nobody cares about and making it as difficult to use as it could get. There are better alternatives out there.

I loved using this, it had heaps of beautiful wallpapers, easy to scroll through, it would show you the pictures full size. And all could be downloaded without an account. But after the latest update this is all gone. I can't figure out how to even search. Can't see pictures full size. Scrolling through them is not user friendly. And now I have to sign in to download anything. No thanks! You had a great little app. Now it's ruined as far as I'm concerned.

I do not like the new app update at all...it asks if I want to add each picture to my saved groups. . .pain in the a**! It should be asked once at the beginning...when first signing on to the app...not each individual picture. Very annoying, & I've had to uninstall it b/c of this. It's unfortunate, b/c I've had it on several phones, & I like the pictures. Horrible idea, folks! 👎

This used to be really great with lots of different choices but now when I search I have about 8 results and there are a lot of words and options in Chinese that I personally can't read. Disappointing as this used to be my first point of call for a new background but uninstalled now. I keep seeing responses to other similar reviews as "upgraded for functionality" but all it has done is drastically reduced functionality and stopped me from using it.

This app is just the best wallpaper so out there. it's somehow being transformed to a social media as you can follow users or comment on their photo. with such options, it is expected to be able to customize a profile which is fairly available. however, I lost access to my previous email, and now am unable to temporary delete the app or test my phone to factory settings, because if I do, I'll lose my profile with friends, and photos I've uploaded. please bring us this feature. thanks a lot.

Used it for the clock widget which looks beautiful on my home screen, but sadly had to look for anothet clock widget since it does not sync with my system clock

I don't like their aggressive marketing ethic, and I'm not into anything I have to register and/or sign into. Forget that noise. Uninstalled IMMEDIATELY.

The earlier interface was so much better and easier to navigate. But now it's just clumsy, cumbersome and difficult to wade through. This used to be one of my favourite apps and the only wallpaper app on my phone. Need to look for alternatives now. Edit: For starters, the wallpapers should be sortable according to no. of views/downloads. Luckily for me, I had already favorited my preferred wallpapers before the app got revamped. Can't imagine searching from scratch in the present version.

This used to be a great app when we could only add up to three tags. Now people are abusing the tags and all kinds of images that I'm not interested in pop up everywhere no matter what I search for. I can't find any good images anywhere in the app. It feels more like a social media app rather than a background app.

I would have given this app a five star. However, it used to have different categories such as 100,000+ downloads, Best HD background, music, monochrome, quotes, etc. But now, I cannot find these categories. It was really easy to use the app when the categories were there. Could you pls bring back this feature? Thank you.

this app used to be great. But for the last six months, no matter whatever photo I download it doesn't appear in my gallery. in the app they say that the photo is saved but it doesn't show on the gallery. I have updated the app every time and restarted my phone on many occasions but unfortunately the results remain the same. I am using android 11. please fix the issue

Agree with other comments...used this for a few years and now it is so busy / complicated. I just want pictures...I don't want to "sign in" or "invite friends" or have a "favorite creator" and all the other nonsense. It is like the developers took a simple concept ("Backgrounds" is its name) and have tried to turn it into a social media platform. No thank you.

Hi, the new update of the program is very bad because the quality of the photos is low! I liked the old update of this program more.

This app used to be best app. Now it loads adds faster than photos . New design is bad. Where did categories go??!!. The real bad thing is that most of the photos are photoshopped , even if I search natural photo of sunrise or landscape I get one or two natural photo and rest all photoshopped which do not even match with my search. Many photo is of low quality

I've been using this app for a long time now but recently it's taken away all its functionality. I can't choose categories that I want to look through. They push premium purchases and you have to scroll through thousands to images in hopes that you will find something that you like. I don't have time for that to spend on looking for wallpapers. Time to look for an alternative app.

I like the fact you can choose the category you are interested in, for example you can get wallpapers to follow seasons, wildlife, scenic views, gardens, arts, aircraft, cars, gothic, gaming I could go on and on, which is why I love this app and would recommend it. ♡

A good example for the saying "Don't fix it if it's not broken". Used to be a good app, easy search, simple interface, and a collection of images without a ton of amateur anime art. Sad. Now I see why it's not the first in the search anymore

Great selection of wallpapers. Only reason I give it 4 stars is, it doesn't clear out older pics in the buffer so it tends to run out of memory and the app stops. If there is more than a 2000 or so pics in results you won't see past a 1000 because app crashes. Don't get me wrong still a great app!

Can you please change it back to the previous interface with categories? It was easier and there were a lot more choices worth downloading. I don't understand the app right now and the images are also not that good. Its plain clumsy and confusing.

I have no idea what is happening. I was trying to buy pies for a clock but it kept charging me, not giving any pies then refunding. This happened four times with no reason as to why... However the customer service was very good and they quickly resolved the issue for me and even with this issue the app is still very good.

I love this app but here lately the clock doesn't keep the correct time it seems to fall behind. Please fix this bug. Over all I love the wallpapers, the clock and an extra gift I can change the color of the clock and day to match my wallpaper. thank you I love this app and have used it for years.

Widget no longer working correctly. I have it set up to go straight to my clock, but it does nothing when I click on it.
