Best app for sending multiple files at one time. There is nothing wrong with this app but like everything else blackberry it's the corporate fault. Failure to be flexible when needed and content to sell software. I still have a black berry and use it everyday. Even when they tried to make a comeback it was not a real effort. Advertising was poor and flexibility of the phones couldn't compete. Too bad.
This messaging app has a lot of great features but can be glitchy. Profile pics don't show up for some, weird issues between apple and android users like sharing pics doesn't work properly. But the most annoying glitch since the latest update is the notification volume doesn't work. I kept missing messages because I didn't hear them. I finally figured out that for some reason the notification volume is linked to my ringtone volume rather than notification volume. Needs to be fixed, thanks
I once rated this app a 5, loved it. No longer. The last three updates have messed up the notifications and its been difficult to fix them. There is NO notification sound anymore again! I just did the latest update and the sound is gone again, only this time I haven't managed to get it back. The steps that I took the last time aren't working this time. OK,so I figued out how to turn on the sound, but when I get a new msg it goes back to a 5 digit code? I change , new msg, it goes back? Fix plz.
Notifications broke in the November update. The program references sound files that don't exist so there are no audible notifications after update. Once you select a sound that exists on the phone, the volume is stuck on maximum with no way to adjust it. BBM support has been useless. Update (Jan 26) - software is still broken even after updates and no response from support.
I would rate it a 4 if it didn't stop working all of a sudden so I'm givin' it 1 by now (and forever i guess 'cause it's BBM that ended cooperation with iOS and Android, not just my app loll). Notwithstanding, I recommend TELEGRAM app to all ex-users of BBM. It's BETTER all the way (it's free (BBME isn't), got higher photos and calls quality and many more other strengths)
Not nearly as good as it used to be before. The constant updates have ruined the true BBM experience that we all loved. BBM has really gone down the drain and I hope that they can bring it back. A lot of things aren't the same as before. I love blackberry phones but a lot of improvements are needed for me keep using a BB devices and BBM app
Former BlackBerry owner, still love the app, which is why I installed it on my LG G7. However have been experiencing the same issue as other Android users lately with the notification tone changing on its own. As soon as you close a chat, it recerts back to a default tone. Very annoying, as I specifically choose the BBM tone so I can differentiate between notifications. Please fix this!
really going downhill. goes to thumbnail at random, can't move it where you want it anymore, misrepresents sent/received image area, crashes and glitches frequently, aaaaaand I'm pretty sure they ignore bug reports and simple feature requests like "please add a black theme your app is always on and it's eating my battery". stop adding exciting new features and just get bbm running like the Swiss clock it once was.
Great app! Just one thing I dislike - on days when the weather is dodgey, the BBM app is also. Quite often my signal is weak or just doesn't "go." Then I'll get loads of messages, later. Hubby and I use this between us all day, every day, so this is very annoying! We then will resort to other messengers, which we like much less. We like the features that you can actually see when someone has "seen" the message, and when they are "writing" a reply, best of all.
Ok, I get that the app will no longer be supported, but do not understand why it needs to be disabled for reading past messages and media etc. this seems excessive. Please leave the reader portion of the app functional so we don't lose all those past conversations that we treasure. Some of them with now deceased friends. And the so called backup function only backs up part of the conversation to email. Dissapointed but understand why BBM is ending.
Best app I have ever used. I was surprised that the video calls were clear and it seldom has issues like poor connection or unable to hear each other. The video was stable most of time and the voice clarity was excellent. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a good app like this!
Excellent app! Both cellular data and WiFi work flawlessly for text, meaning works just about anywhere. Great for sending attachments. Also feel it's secure. Love the "D" and "R" information. It's more useful that way. It's very convenient for sending images to multiple people.
The app used to be super good. But BBM vibrate and message preview features have been changed for worse in past few months. It used to have a signature 3 Vibration pattern for Android, but now the vibration doesn't work in BBM. The message preview in notification area used to be available earlier, now it is stopped as well.
I don't know what is going on with BBM over the last few updates. I have been using BBM since having my Torch. Messages do not always go through in a timely manner. I have to open the app before messages sent to me will arrive. By then, they could be an hour old. It is frustrating and because of it I use this app less and less.
i recently started using a blackberry priv and it seems like they have integrated BBM with the browser and i havent been able to use both the browser and BBM . It keeps prompting me to update to clear issues but it is never succesful so far. what is up? i keep having issues verifying my email and my phone number and that seems to bethe issue they are trying to resolve with the update . What gives?
app does not behave like any other, can't remove icon from notification area, opens on it's own regularly since last update. broadcast advertising messages you can not opt out of. only used for a few people who have not switched to a better messaging client. BBM has become terrible.
The app downloads everything posted into my personal photo gallery, I have little to no control over notification, and if I want selective access, for example just to the text content, I can't specify that. I have a limited bandwidth cell plan and I don't want to waste it on dank memes.
This was the absolute best messaging app. Had it ever since I owned my first blackberry and continued using it as I moved into the newer Blackberry phones without BBOS. As of May 31st, they shut it down. BBM played a big part in staying connected with others and I will deraly miss its consumer service. No other messaging app could ever take its place.
This app is good... when it actually works. If I haven't used the app in several hours or days, it won't send messages. In order to get the message to actually go through, I have to notify the person through Facebook Messenger that I sent a message using BBM. It finally goes through when they open their BBM. What's the point of using BBM if you have to contact the person you are trying to reach with a different messenger app.
Always been a fan of BB, now on Android, i use BBM to communicate with my wife.... but since the latest update, i can't open web links that she sends me. I tried changing the setting to open externally, but that didn't work. When i click on web link in BBM chat, it gives me the option to delete, copy or forward the message.... no options to open link.... please fix this issue.
Other than the ads, it's hard to pin down what about BBM is not quite the same as the messaging app I loved for years on BlackBerry phones. But something just isn't as compelling. I will continue to use it as it is typically fast and it is encryption I trust unless many other platforms.
Love BBM, been using it for years as my main source of texting without any issues. HOWEVER, ever since the most recent update, i can't click on the BBM icon in the notifications bar that would normally open up BBM. Instead, i have to find the actual icon on my apps page. Gets frustrating after awhile.
For the past 4 months I do not have any sound when I get a bbm message, or any visual notification. I never know when I have a message unless I go in and look. Please fix these bugs asap so I can keep using it. I'm so disappointed as i have been using for a long time. thank you
Each update is worse than the one before, you keep removing great and useful features like deleting a contact right from their profile, so much bugs that makes the experience bad, like the messages and the time stamps just melt with each other, what is that!? I also paid so i won't see ads, but i still get ads. Hope you can fix it soon.
This is feedback for the latest update published today 25th Nov IST. BBM team, I had high hopes from you since last more then decade. Though the recent update, how can you remove one of basic notification option while adding other features. # Pop up notification only has to hide the message content... but pop is still there. You doing anything/any application and BBM pops up for every message received. Bbm has standards relatively to Privacy, this is basic need of one using bbm. Kindly add back same feature to pop up notifications. Where they just ping/vibrate/flash led light.. and pop up only when pop up's are actived. Thanks in advance.
My best app. The only app that has a sufficient number of emotions. I can hug properly even with a sticker in motion. BBM is the only app that allows me to 'ping' without having to type the letters. It's a very private app and no one can burst into my space even if they discover I use the app. I feel super comfortable posting family and personal pictures on my profile coz I know only my contacts can see them. I will miss BBM. It's a place where I celebrated the birth of all my children. 😍
What happened to BBM? It gets worse every update. Group chats get spammed non stop with bots that you remove but they come right back, no more calendar events in groups, can't reply to pictures from gallery in group anymore, app freezes and crashes at random EDIT Feb 9/19: They fixed the missing notification sound issue last update, BBM gets an extra star now.
In the past 6 months I have found reception on BBM very spotty and so have others I know. So it's not my device, confirmed after I upgraded devices. BBM was reliable maybe in the future it will be again.UPDATE the newest versions have resolved the issue. Thank you.
Used BBM for years and love the app, especially groups. Unfortunately now it's just family who use it. The calendar option was perfect for us but that has recently been removed and I can't find a decent app that integrates with the default calendar. We have resorted to a calendar that you hang on your kitchen wall - feel like I'm going backward in time. Now, I'm having problems with the notification sound, it keeps changing as soon as I close BBM, even when I change it back. please sort it!!
