My only 2 issues are with the audio. It doesn't "bookmark" where I pause and goes back to Genesis 1 every time. Even if I am just putting it down and coming back to it, if I go to another app, it loses my place. Also, each time it goes to the next chapter, it causes the notification to sound off, so I have to turn my phone ringer to silent because of that, very frustrating because I cannot go to settings and make it stop.

After latest update I did exactly that. Went to the Menu pressed on settings to change reading version and it crashed on me again. May 2020. Much better! Great app again. You've fixed all the bugs. I'm enjoying this app again. I love how you can highlight and save favourites and compare the different versions side by side without leaving the page. Very Useful. (: EDIT: 12/14/21 I've given up on this app. It no longer notifies me of my daily scripture reading. Edit March 22 all solved now.

As Melody LeViner said, I absolutely love this app. It's very well done and I use it daily. The one thing I would request is that when reading and also playing the audio portion, if you go to move to another book the interface starts you back at Gen 1:1 instead of starting from where you currently are in the Bible. Please "bookmark" the interface so when you go to change it starts you where you currently are.

Every time I'm listening to the scriptures if I press the speaker icon to see what verse I'm on it starts all over again and never let's you continue where you left off. In order to see the verse when you have it on the speaker 🔊 that is. It will take you all the way to the beginning. It doesn't allow you to copy text. Highlights only in yellow. Audio only for select translations

Love the BG computer app, but while this mobile app has many cool features, I found them very difficult/impossible to navigate/manage. The initial "tour" didn't have any in depth instruction or tips. Maybe I just need coaching. Font size changes didn't work, couldn't set starting point of the Old/New Testament Reading Plan, audible reading didn't stop when closing app (had to uninstall), etc. Clunky and unfriendly for this user. So disappointing.

Excellent Bible App & Great features I've used this app hundreds of times. The search feature is good, but gets quirky sometimes. Many helpful text features, bible study plans, highlighting verses, at least 3 dozen translations/versions of God's Word in languages of most countries. What I use it for most is when I remember specific verses but forget the book & verses. I just type in the short phrase recalled in the verse & BG gets it almost every time, 95%. Best Bible app I've used. Thank2GoD!!

None of the cross reference links within the text (where available) work, even with a paid subscription. I contacted support, but after 2-3 emails they just blew me off. Also, it's mandatory to give consent to share your email address with publishers, etc. before you can download any version for offline reading. Other than those two things, it's a pretty good app with a clean and simple UI.

I really loved this app and have had it for awhile. Even highlighted A LOT of scriptures just like the real paper pages in a Bible. Unfortunately, this app has major issues with closing on you as soon as you click to open it. I've sent feedback I know for sure twice, and I've read where other people have done the same. No one's answering or fixing anything apparently, so I guess it's a no go for me. Sad to say, but I had to uninstall. Hopefully the issue will be resolved one day.

My favorite Bible app! The interface is uncrowded and easy to use. I like the verse of the day, and the ease of switching between versions. I most often use this app for listening to longer portions of scripture. For NIV, there are several options for the audio, and i like the dramatized one. My only request: please make it possible to select a portion of scripture (verses, chapters, even a book) and play the audio on loop. This would be really helpful for memorization!

The app is great, I appreciate the resources available for study. However, since a recent update, every time I try to switch between books and chapters, the list comes up at Genesis 1 instead of where I left off. It's a minor annoyance, but I would appreciate it if the original scrolling was restored so that if I select 1 John 5, I can go back to the Bible book list and easily go back and forth within the vicinity rather than being taken to the first book and scrolling through again. An amazing array of downloadable versions. But it doesn't have an interlinear or a dictionary option. It has a variety of reading plans, but they are not personalized, so if you start your plan in the middle of the year, it starts you reading in the middle of the plan. No other option. One other minor drawback is that the index is strictly linear, unlike other apps that spread the books across the screen.

This app is mostly good. The good points are the various versions of the bible available, the ability to highlight verses, the reading plan. The main bad point is the verse search now. There was an update that happened and now if I'm listening to a sermon and using this for my Bible, I can't swap between books. It automatically takes me back to Genesis. Please fix this. Especially difficult when studying in the New testament.

I have loved this app for years now and it has flawlessly worked... till now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times now because it continues to shut down before entering into the app. Once reinstalled it barely works and not for long. When I go to change or add "dual side by side display" for an extra version, it gives me a total of two version, and that is because it has defaulted to "dutch" language which it reverts back to almost instantly after choosing another version. Not happy!

First - I've used the website for years so I could compare translations easily. Secondly - I was excited to discover they had an app too. It has most of the English translations you can find elsewhere, but also include THE VOICE translation which I've yet to see in another bible app. I really like this translation, and have it in print...but LOVE having it in this app too! The app does have several audio bibles too - some with different voices and some dramatization (e.g. light music in the background). They don't have the library of reading plans that some of the other apps have, but I'm okay with that. I can use those apps if I want to do something like that. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. Having the Voice Translation kind of makes up for the lack of variety in reading plans.

Two (2) issues; 1. The verse of the day does not refresh unless you close the app and reopen it. 2. There should be an option to navigate the books of the bible with taps instead of just having the wheel/scroll navigation. Apart from these issues the apps works fine. Another feature I would like to see is, highlights of the verse while listening to audio bible. God bless you guys. Much love and gratitude! 🥰

For some reason, when I switch modes in the menu so I can take notes or whatever, it crashes. When it does I get a note from my cell phone saying it caused issues. While stopping the app completely, waiting a moment, then restarting it works, it takes time to both do that & get back where I was. Becauase of this I've uninstalled it a few times. However, I keep coming back because even with the few troubles (like not being able to download stuff because it can't recognize I have an internet connection), it's still the best one for me out there.

The app is great and very useful in the studies and note taking. Unfortunately, like other users have expressed the app started closing whenever I tried to open it. I noticed that it needed to be updated so I did that, but it still would not open without closing. I uninstalled and re installed it. It opened without crashing, but when I came out of the app and tried to reopen it later it kept closing. Since I created an account I can access my notes on the website.

Edit #2- I have updated the app with the new update from the 24th and now it keeps crashing when I click on settings. I have no choice but to look for another bible app. Original - I love this app and have been using it for years but it keeps telling me "bible gateway has stopped" on all 3 of my devices. I have updated it and uninstalled/reinstalled and nothing works. I will update the rating when the bugs are fixed. I hope I don't lose my notes.

It works. Though occasionally I get a pop up message that it has stopped working... After I close it down. I also can't look at certain versions of the Bible without having downloaded the version or being online. Like the NIV or the KJV. I suspect that part of the reason is that some are also available to be listened to. But that still doesn't excuse the exclusion of the two most accurate modern language translations. I'm honestly considering making space for my tablet.

I had been using this app almost daily for more than a year for audio bible. For that time I would have given it 4 stars; my only objection was that it defaulted always to a certain translation and narrator. I would have liked to have been able to lock it in on my preferences. However, within the past few days this app has become nonfunctional. I can't get it to open. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it repeatedly to no avail. I'm not having problems with any other app.

Find great pleasure and comfort in listening to audio readings. Would like an easier way to access individual words in dictionary. It's difficult to read "red letter" words when highlighted. I appreciate that you don't keep bothering us with promotions and sales gimmicks. It's refreshing. Still a great app. Thankyou.

For the longest time I really loved this app, the many different versions I could choose from, the reading plan options, etc. Then recently, the app stopped working, had to uninstall and reinstall it over and over again, to no avail. Everytime I went to open it, it failed. So sad. Now to find something else.

As with everyone else, the app has recently started acting up. When I try to open it seems as if it's loading and then it shuts down. I use the app for the daily reading plan but lately have had problems. Addendum: I can get on the app but I still can't change the settings...if I try then it closes the app. I really love this app but I would love for everything to work properly.

Great in so many ways! My ongoing frustration is that the SEARCH will not go to a passage, or even book of the Bible. The method used for finding scripture is a good option, but is exceedingly unwieldy 90% of the time. I believe the SEARCH may be a Concordance search, which is a good thing to have. But could there also, right on the home screen, be a general scripture search?

I was able to clear the app cache and it is now launching! Update broke something. I have used this app for years. I have used it on my note 8 for the last 2 years. Just recently, after play pushed an update for the app, this app no longer opens on my note 8 phone. Not sure what changed, but please fix it! This is my go to at work and when laying in bed unable to sleep.

I love this app, and have never had issues with it before, but lately it continuously crashes as I try to open it. I deleted the app yesterday and immediately reinstalled it which seemed to solve the issue temporarily. Today it is crashing again. I hope this is fixed soon...! I just deleted it again and am about to reinstall. Fingers crossed it works again today...
