ChrisFix was right, it's a simple OBD2 scanner that has a lot more options than others. Some scanners can mess with the ECU or other modules however Bluedriver will not, though I don't recommend using it with any car built after 2018 because of Bluetooth security. Overall the app is basic but does give you some insight on what might be wrong with your vehicle, there is some live data but not much to accurately diagnose the vehicle yourself.
It seems to work pretty good. There's a lot of options for modifying data display, comparing data streams, etc. It remembers past codes and links to a database of possible or probable repairs for different codes. I gave 4 stars just because I've only used it once or twice and don't know it well enough to give 5, but it hasn't given me a problen yet.
Just installed on my car to clear a CEL. It worked as advertised. Bluetooth pairing was easy and it gives lots of information that the OBD2 port reads. I like that there are no cables and I can use a tablet for better viewing of data. Shows the CEL codes, recommended fixes, where to buy parts, vehicle recalls and service bulletins plus live data. Well pleased so far. Should be able to get updates on the app also.
I was once charged $99 to turn off the check engine light at the dealership. You could pay the same to get a dedicated reader to read and clear error codes. Or you could buy a blue driver device and have access to far more information from most vehicles on a device that keeps improving with every software update. It does a lot of stuff. But in my mind, the first look at the user interface spoke of a thoughtfully designed app with plans for a bright future. Five stars.
Pretty good. Easy to use interface. Really could use bi-directional capability. If you need quick scans with powerful data including mode 6, well then BAM, Bluedriver.
This is a great OBD2 scaner. This is an edit. So I deleted my post so I can give an update. I have had my Blue Driver over two year's. I love it even more now. No problems. Works great. I like the live mode. Also the company replied to a question and comment. I think it took about one or two days. My only problem is my 2001 Saturn LW200. I wish it had more sensors so I could use more of my Blue Driver's capabilities. Such a problem to have. Buy yourself one.
I'm still liking it but it can be difficult to know where to look for info. Mechanics know...say, the oxygen levels to look for on sensors, I don't know the good levels and bad levels. I cannot find a place to reference it within the app, also idle speed, mapp sensor. Would be great if there was a "How To" for each vehicle and where to look under the hood or dash. That being said, this little device & app are invaluable! over the last 50 years honest mech. are hard to find. This keeps honest.
It reads codes, clears codes, and provides info on what the code is, as well as listing all the possible fixes, with the top fix, and fixes, designed. It provides live data useful for troubleshooting. Being Bluetooth, and not corded, is also great for troubleshooting. Cords can be too short to allow viewing of the live data, during diagnosis. It does engine, transmission, brakes, air bag system, and even body and trim. If the vehicle has sensors for it, and the computer can read them, this tool provides the information. Information varies by vehicle capabilities. If your vehicle does it, the tool will read it. If it doesn't, the tool cant read information that does not exist to the vehicle computer. The limitation is the vehicle, not the tool. Newer vehicles seem to provide more information to the tool than older ones. All in all, this is a great little tool! Whether you do your own repairs, or have them done, you'll know what's up. It's harder to RIP you off, when you know what's wrong. It's small, and easy to keep with you. Nice to have one flat price, with no subscription to keep the device viable. In addition to app updates, I have even received a flash update to the devices firmware. The firmware update did not require a computer. It updated over the Bluetooth connection via the app on my phone. I have had the BlueDriver for a few years, now. It has paid for itself, in that time, in savings related to do it yourself repairs, vs paying a mechanic. I also like the piece of mind, that in a pinch, I'm more likely to be able to get home, by knowing what the trouble is, and where to look, for example by disconnecting a failed sensor, and running on default settings, of finding a vacuum leak. I couldn't do that, if I didn't know what was causing the problem. Also, it would be harder to rip me off, when I know the possibile causes of my vehicles issue.
It stopped working today after my Samsung S21 5g updated. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, turning off and back on. This app has been great until today (it worked yesterday). Is there a fix coming anytime soon? All of my other apps work fine on my phone. I really miss being able to use the app. Yay!! It works again. It took almost 3 weeks to fix the glitch, but it is back to working great!
I used bludriver to diagnose a very expensive issue with the cat converter. It's a California emissions car so the price of the cat was $1380. With fuel prices right now driving my big thirsty truck isn't an option without bludriver I would've had to guess if it'd pass smog. Nice to see the vitals live. Pretty awesome product for the price. Wish it had more features for an 06 camry
This app is amazing and for the price it's the best deal around. The only honest app of it's kind that gives comprehensive details and doesn't nickel and dime you on updates or vehicle types. Not to mention before I ever used this app, I already loved their YouTube videos designed for real human beings. I recommend this app and sensor to everyone.
Fun to use, could be a tad more Graphic. It does respond to changes nicely. Not the super high end obd2 application, but excellent product, accurate, and priced right. Love it.
Accurate, Reliable, intuitive interface. One of the best obd2 scan tools available. It does everything an pro grade scan tool will do, reliably and quickly, for a fraction of the price. nb. It doesnt have any programming capabilities, just code clearing and service reminder resetting.
All of a sudden I'm having trouble connecting to my scanner. never did this before. I tried a different vehicle thinking it was my data link to my ecm. It's the same. my note 8 wont connect it either . I followed instructions from costumer service and made no difference. Follow up by costumer service, it's past my warranty date but I'm very impressed that they are making it right and sending me a complimentary unit. I am so happy Now!!! Thank you Lemur costumer service!
The night before I was going to give my XB to my daughter, it started to run horribly. She was going to drive 2000mi. Suddenly all sorts of unrelated lights lit up the dash! She limped home. Then I started to search for the cause. I've worked on cars for 50 yrs and hadn't found the problem on this one. My 12yr old granddaughter set up the scanner for me in about 30 seconds. I plugged it in, followed the instructions and within a minute, I found the problem. I replaced a coil pack. It's perfect!
I'm totally happy with the app. Would be nice if it had a feature where instead of sharing reports with numbers on a spreadsheet; you can share in a video format.
Advanced diagnostics support and great customer service. Had a problem with the app and the customer service responded very professionally and problem was fixed very quickly. Highly recommend their product.
Best tool out there, definitely worth the money. If you're thinking about buying but not sure let me set your mind at ease, there is no better feeling than being able to know the codes for your vehicle and with the internet being able to know what that code(s) means before you see a mechanic. If you a DIY'er then you should already know this is the tool you need.
For corolla 2004 it is not what I expected as described in ads. Later in one of your videos I understood that it is good for 2008 -> cars. Not very useful for me.
Good device when it works it works well .I find when cycling the ignition for 5 seconds as instructions on the screen the Bluetooth drops out wich is fine as the power gose off.But it dose not all ways reconnect. It then becomes a problem to reconnect you have to start over and reboot everything. When working it gives good live information and fault codes in all a very useful tool
Wow this thing rocks. Live data. Mode 6. Videos of all the functions. And more importantly if it's not for your car or truck it don't show up so you don't make really big paper weight . Very easy to use. Checks all your modules. Great price. The only downfall I have hit is I have a ford and right now only BMW can register a new battery. So either I take it in and pair the battery or wait for bluedriver to come out with a update to app. If you buy one you will not return it cause it is great.
This scanner is great! It reads much more than engine trouble codes. It helped diagnose and repair: no sound from radio, 4wd actuator replacement, and a faulty clock spring for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. In addition to reading codes, the app also has a list of potential solutions for most of the codes it reads. Saved a trip, or 2, to the mechanic and I got it on sale!
Best OBD2 scanner for your phone or tablet. I love it! I was able to save tons of money with do it your self repairs, from O2 sensors, thermostatic switches, ignition cylinder misfire, and much more. Get one now if you don't have one. The only thing that you need to purchase is the OBD2 Bluetooth adapter for the OBD2 port in the vehicle. You will save on diagnostic cost and repairs if you can learn to do it yourself. This tool makes it simple.
A mechanics best friend. I have used many Scan tools over the last 20 years. The ability to save, share, and get accurate information without any hassle has made this my go to scan tool. I have had minor troubles in the past. Overall, you can't find a better tool for the price.
I acquired a 2010 Nissan Frontier pickup that was minimally maintained before I got it. Having the Bluedriver ODBII installed has been a tremendous help in diagnosing and repairing the many issues that this truck had. With so many different things triggering the check engine light, I was able to identify and fix almost all of them so far. ***No Christmas tree lights on my instrument panel anymore!!!*** There are a few more minor issues to address which I will do in time. Great product!!!!!!
BlueDriver is fantastic! It is easy to use and the fact that is scans all modules is a huge plus! Mode 6 scan is very useful and informative. Setting it up on the iPad and Pixel phone (Apple and Android) was a breeze. The amount of information from fixes to code information is outstanding. The best part is no wires and no computer like my other OBDII scan tool! Well worth the money!
This is a great app and sensor. The reports are clear and complete, getting me going in the right direction for repairs. It's pretty cool that it will send you directly to a part you need on Amazon, but I'd like some other shopping alternatives. All in all, a huge help to this weekend mechanic.
This app and the Dongle are really great, I've used it on Jeep's Ford, VW transporter, LDV and a Micra, being able to see the freeze frame, live data and read those deep systems is amazing, I've tried others but this is streets ahead. Being able to send the results to the Garage that's brilliant, it's all there, superb.
I bought an overpriced ($500 or $600) Autel scanner which didn't meet my expectations. I returned it and replaced it with this BlueDriver scanner and have never looked back. This thing does way more than the Autel scanner (such as scanning ALL systems, not "some"), and it's compatible with a wider range of vehicles. One thing that's icing on the cake is that I can see what other users have done to fix the problems. Sometimes there's even professional advice from highly experienced mechanics.
