Great app! I see several users experience a scratching sound when screen goes to sleep - like me. I think it is mostly related not to a 'bug', but your device setup, and android: Hints: 1. Turn battery optimisation OFF for this app. 2. If that's not enough then set your SCREEN TO ALWAYS ON while using the app. Then you can set it back. 3. In most of the cases it is enough to press the sleep /screen off phone button by yourself instead of waiting auto screen off. Hope this helps.
I like the layout and the fact that you can control each ear separately, in addition to the way you can adjust the frequency without interruptions. And the ads are not bothersome. Assesories that are usually present is that other apps explain each main frequency category but I just assumed that the developer figured that you already knew the effects of the frequencies...which is fine by me. Maybe if it had an indefinite timer, but that may be a part of the pro version. I don't regret 5 stars!
I use this app to send Delta Waves "Sleep" preset to my BlueTooth earbuds while I sleep. I really want "Brown Noise" (Similar to "White Noise") mixed in, and I found that I can run the "White Noise Lite" by TMSOFT app with the "Brown Noise" preset at the same time. It is tough to get the relative volume of the two apps to my liking, but I live with it. Having a Brown / white / pink noise option built into this app would be a great enhancement. Problem 1: This app consumes a lot of battery. Even though I am using Bluetooth (not earbuds), the battery level goes from 80% to 43% % in 7 hours. I don't like to leave my phone charging overnight because I want to avoid letting the charge level exceed 80% to preserve battery health. Either this app is wastefully sending the low frequency sounds to the headphone jack, or the ads are consuming too much power. Note that I have the White Noise App running at the same time (with ads), and it does not consume nearly as much battery. Problem 2: Since I am running two apps at the same time, I noticed that I can't hit the "back" key on my Galaxy Note 5, without causing the "Brain Waves" app to stop playing. I consider this an annoying bug. My workaround is to start the "White Noise Lite" app first (which does not stop playing when I hit the "back" key). Then I start the "Brain Waves" app. Was really frustrating, until I figured out that I have to launch the apps in a specific order. The "Brain Waves" app will stop playing in other situations way too easily. Problem 3: I tried manually setting the frequencies 57hz and 53hz. This is really difficult given the way the user interface has you adjust each ear separately, and the slider bar is way too sensitive (useless), and the +/- buttons, which increase the frequency by 0.01 hz (are not sensitive enough). Yes you can save a custom preset once you find one you find one you like. Still, it should not be so hard to tweak the left vs. right ear frequencies. I gave up and started using Delta wave "Sleep" preset which uses 75hz and 73hz. I would prefer to be able to tweak the frequencies, but the frustration factor when you are trying to relax for sleep is ironic.
Unbelievably, there is no way to quit it (other than by force). UPDATE: hitting back doesn't quit the app, there is still a constant notification that the app is running. I can turn off the notification, but the app would still be running. 2 more stars for recognizing the meaning of my alias. 👍
I have tried so many similar apps. By far I believe this is the best generator. I use it daily to relax or to sleep. But... I am really missing animated programms. I d love to be able to choose 2-3 sessions and smoothly transition from one to another! Eg sleep, deep sleep and meditation together.
I would've loved it, especially as it's the first binaural audio source I could actually hear the effect in. UNFORTUNATELY, there are seemingly random audio artifacts that sound kinda like the skip caused by a scratch on a vynl record. This is SUPER distracting & makes the app worthless to me. My music players don't have this deal-breaker of a problem, but this app's original audio engine AND this "New Audio Engine" do. -_- Major bummer. :(
I like it because I can create my own binaural beats and also play presets. I can also set the play time. Just what I'm looking for. I like the simple UI. No fancy psychedelic designs. If the pro version is one time payment then it's good. Please don't make it recurring payments. I don't mind the ads.
The audio keeps stopping after 2 mins but says it is still going. I have to restart the app to get any sound. And it happens repeatedly; I cannot just turn it on and leave it. It doesn't work
If you have crackling sounds and interruptions, try the following. Go into settings and change the audio engine to "AE 01 - Original" and restart the app. Now go back to the settings and change it back to "AE 02 - New" and restart again. Worked for me and the unwanted sounds disappeared. If it does not go away, switch to "AE 01 - Original" and see if that works.
I had an issue with pops, snaps and other sounds, but fixed it by adjusting my phone volume settings for my Bluetooth ear buds from smart audio to music(motorola phone). Clear as day now. Great app- maybe add option to long press the + or - for rapid acceleration, but not a real problem since you can manually input.
Unfortunately there are cracking and scratching noises every now and then. They will defenitely keep me awake. I've seen there were plenty of reviews written about this but it has not jet been fixed. If this would be fixed it would be a very fine app. I installed and switched to another app that works better.
No fees to access everything. No pop up adds. Has never crashed. The 'pre set sessions' are great. If I want to experiment with changing the sounds, I can easily do that. Simple app and does actually help me concentrate better!!
I played the relaxing Theta waves session, and there was a crackling noise heard at throughout the session, and they seemed to increase in occurrence as the session went on. At around 2:45 left in the session, this high pitched, ear piercing, startling screeching started, at which point I stopped. YouTube has better sessions that don't make you feel like someone stabbed through your ears with a spike. Do not waste your time. The others were the same way.
Would be 237% better if there were more presets or at least a big list of different yet exact frequencies for the different outcomes. I'd use ambiscience as a template, it's an app pretty similar but I'm pretty sure it's discontinued.
Even after trying the tricks other users suggested I couldn't get rid of the static. It would go from a low, background noise from the app, to sharp, loud static noise while trying to meditate or sleep- not helpful at all! Moving on to try another app.
Not a particularly attractive UI, but it does everything well. If you do not use speakers/headphones that can reproduce the various frequencies well you may experience pops/crackles or you may not hear it at all. Especially below 50Hz-60Hz.
I use this application daily, I didn't expect it to be as good as it is, but it even rivals some desktop applications. My only complaint is that it remembers my volume setting, but neglects it every time I initially start using the application, sometimes it's a bit of an unpleasant surprise. Thank you.
I am on and off with binaural beats but this is my preferred go to app. I love it and use it above all others. My only nitpick and this is because I'm weird and curious if it can be implemented. I want to be able to stack a gamma binauralwith a beta binaural and play both simultaneously. Is this something that can be possible?
has a great interface and good presets. i would like it better if the uppet limit was set to 1000hz rather than 528 which seems arbitrary. also a toggle for integers so the sliders are easier to control. An option to overlay pink or white noise would be very useful
This is a very versatile app! I've been using it everyday for the past 15 days, and use it while doing work at the office, meditating, running my daily 5k, and especially while doing menial and necessary tasks that I typically wouldn't enjoy- like accounting or cleaning the condo. Makes time fly by!
It works. I have a slight feeling that the UI could be cleaner, but overall this is an app that has helped me cope with my ADD. Edit: if you want to close the app, press the back button in the apps main page.
I'm extremely confused whether i should ( as if its safe or not ) keep my dolby audio on, or turn it off while listening to binaural beats. !!?? Because it sounds completely different in both cases.
Just a simple, straight to the point, Binaural tones app. Been using the "deep sleep" preset and have slept awesome and been able to remember a lot of my dreams (I rarely can remember dreams, so for me this is a mega ++)
I have been using this for a long time and absolutely love it. Sound is perfect. I use it stand alone but my favorite is being able to run it "under" other music like classical when I'm studying. Thank you so much for this!
These are good, but have you looked into the Theta and Delta waves? They keep popping loudly. Counterintuitive to relaxation when you are just about to be relaxed--- POP! Fix it please.
Extremely useful, although it often glitches or skips or something and sounds like a loop... Might have something to do with sound wave dynamics, I don't know. Lately it keeps shutting itself off whenever I leave the app, and won't run in the background... in addition, the notification won't go away, saying that brain waves are running when they're not. Please fix this.
