Very disappointing! If you compare this app with the low cost airlines, it's awful. It has taken me over an hour to check in because it keeps crashing. I wanted to change the seat they gave me but it logs me out before I can complete that. It has even failed to download a PDF boarding card. I dread the return flight now. What an awful experience! I'm travelling with a cheaper airline in the summer and I already have my boarding passes in both paper and phone storage formats as well
When it works its great... but it's too glitchy. Checking in to the flight out was fine just a bit messy like it was just a portal to the website... checking in for our return flight was a pain. The app kept spinning out an trying to redirect me to login even though I was already logged in... so ended up not being able to select our seats an got stuck in the last 2 seats at the back of the plane which are cramped and uncomfortable. Couldn't get our boarding passes so had to get them printed off
In general, very satisfied - it usually works very well, and as it cleverly integrates the BA website, it has a rather rich functionality, although some things still only can be done via laptop and you figure this out by trial and error. It has a relatively long latency and it isn't very clear when data isn't refreshed - so at times it won't show updated booking records or the most recent avios transactions.
I think this is perhaps the absolute worst app that I've ever used. It makes me not want to fly British Airways. When you try to upload a Covid document, it doesn't show PDF, only images can be uploaded. When you want to leave feedback on the app in a constructive way, it doesn't allow text entry. So as a result, I can't get my boarding pass. So I take screenprints of the PDFs. And STILL have to wait for the pass. I can't wait until my flight is over so I can delete this horrible app.
Useless.I wanted to check in to my flight. I was unable to, as the app said my Covid documents still hasn't been verified (despite receiving a confirmation email about successful verification hours earlier). I had to queue at the airport to check in. Then my other flight was cancelled. Opened the app to rebook to the next available flight. It showed 2 available flights, selecting the first just reloads the page and it was not possible to rebook. Had to call them & hold for an hour to rebook.
Slow and very difficult to use. Very difficult to find documents especially during covid when additional documents were needed. Downloading boarding passes was not always possible via the app so had to use the web. For the same flight boarding passes for different people had completely different formats. We found ourselves entering in the same answers to the same questions which we had previously given. Wasted hours of our holiday with the app which was also stressful.
Utter trash, sorry. It is impossible to check in for flights unless you have an app called VeriFly, which doesn't even show my departure airport on the list, and three days after health requirements for entry into my destination have changed, it is still not updated and is asking for documents that are not needed. Basically with British Airways, check-in online or via this app is impossible. A good enough reason not to fly BA again in the future.
An infuriating app. Trying to book a return flight to Munich and endeavouring to use e-vouchers but they won't accept e-vouchers in different currencies even though it's a simple conversion and the app appeared to accidentally accept that at one point. So, then you have to book separate outward and return flights and the app surreptitiously increases the respective fares. And generally just technically it's not very user friendly
Utter rubbish refused to check me in or issue boarding passes. 'your check-in status could not be determined'. Tried several times, logged out/in to no avail. Had to do it on a PC and print it out - how old-skool, and far from environmentally friendly (not that flying is!!). Never had such issues with Easyjets app.
Since the upgrade, the app has gone back to the stone ages. If I could give it zero ratings I would. With the old app I could do an online payment and also check in. Now I tried paying for a trip last night I was left hanging. To make matters worse, I can't even check in. I had to use another app to book my trip still with BA. I tried checking in last night, it picked up the flight details but I could not check in. I tried this morning, now it's telling me that there is no flight. Really!?!?!!?
This has stopped working altogether now. Not good enough for a premium airline. The iPhone version of this integrates with the Apple wallet, why doesn't this integrates with Google Pay like other airlines. Also the Apple version is clear with the colour of your membership on the boarding pass. This makes being directed by staff in the airport quicker as they don't have to squint at the details to direct you.
Beyond pointless. With the lazy integration of the BA website, and during covid the requirement of an additional nonaffiliated app to upload documents is a nightmare. I could not check in online due to verifly certificates not being recognized, and once i had gotten checked in at the airport there was no way for me to access my boarding passes via app. BA is the only airline I have NEEDED to have a paper ticket in the last DECADE. This is ridiculous for a self proclaimed world leading airline.
Using the BA app to check in has been one of the most frustrating interactions I've ever had with an airline. BA relies on the shoddily written 3rd party app VeriFly for COVID test results. The entire check-in process, including seat selection, is gated by this integration, which is broken: my VeriFly 'pass' is green but BA doesn't recognize it and their call center isn't contactable. I have few options here other than to get to the airport hours early, get a bad seat and never fly BA again.
This app is so buggy it isn't funny. Between this and another OWA member, I'm beyond livid. Enter information in over 50 times and still get errors or told I need to enter the same information again. The OWA system is supposed to streamline this process, but there seems to be a HUGE chunk taken out of their communication process. Add in COVID requirements that seem to not be updated in their app and you're left with increasing frustration.
It doesn't retain details, especially if multiple bookings has been made. Online check in process is long and I have to re-type data. Frequent flyer membership has to be added everytime. If I could, I would book through easyJet app as it's definitely better and simple to use
Disappointing app from a company like British Airways... Seems to work fine to check in, then it keeps throwing errors when saving boarding passes... "Sorry, we are unable to determine your check-in status. This means we won't be able to give you a mobile boarding pass". What does that mean - what's wrong with my check-in status? I thought I just checked in?? So am I checked in or not..?! FFS
I cannot pay for a flight I am booking, then I get told to contact them urgently which is impossible right now. Flight prices have suddenly increased and it is just extremely frustrating dealing with BA today. The app is not updating either I don't know if this is causing the payment problem. BA not taking their calls whilst they insist one must use the app to book. Messed up.
Was unable to change my seat using either the app or the website. It's like BA doesn't want to take my money. From the looks of it the app is a wrapper around various web endpoints anyway. 3 stars as the app serves the main purpose I got it for, which is to have access to mobile boarding passes.
So poor, BA must lose millions as you can't use app to book a flight! Crashed several times, can't type in destination airport, how to use Avios not clear. Was going to book something on spur of moment for later this month, but now too frustrated and will leave it.
No mention on the app why I can't check in online. Get to the desk at the airport and they start talking about verifly. It's a bit late now, idiots! Have just installed verifly for my return trip, but there is no functionality at all. Can't enter trip, vaccine or testing information. What a useless app verifly is, and BA are complete morons for requiring this. This app used to be quite useful but now it serves no purpose apart from choosing my seat.
Dreadful app. Constant error messages, sometimes impossible to access, doesn't always show bookings already made. Rather like the main BA website it's cumbersome and glitchy. If Ryanair can produce a perfectly workable app with some string and a piece of chewing gum why can't BA ? The answer, of course, is that BA's reputation as an international flagship carrier went down the toilet years ago. I can only imagine BA employ trained monkeys in their IT department now.
App is awful. Won't let you change seats, won't give you option of different flights, and when it does, doesn't allow you to swap to a cheaper flight on same day. Tried to change seats 5 times and kicked out to front page every time.
Become Useless, it was fine until covid hit and now there are so many bugs with having to add all the documents when checking in that it was impossible to check in forcing me to do it online. And of course their call centres are so busy they won't even put you on hold. Terrible customer service.
Has no connection with desktop or mobile site and manages to make travel more difficult. To view separate bookings, the app requires you to leave one booking and enter another. Not the worst thing about BA but catching up with customer service as the reason why I avoid flying with them
The BA app is fundamentally broken by design. It never delivers a clean transaction. I believe the systems underpinning the app are old legacy and unfit for the purpose. BA should invest and embrace technology. The BA management has probably a British empire mentality. As the world progresses at fast rate, BA is still living in its past glory.
A very poor app. Had to get a paper boarding pass, instead of getting it on my app. Even though I had to do it in the airport. I asked them if they can put the boarding pass on to app. Then you also need to use Veryly app which isn't synced with the app. Google gave my gate number 30 minutes before it showed on the airport screen
