I used this app years ago, then updated my phone, can't remember which one, and it stopped working. So, I have reloaded the new version and it's working great so far. I love the intervalometer (sp?). Set to take a photo every few seconds for either a number of photos, or a set length of time. Lots of other great features. I'm happy to have it in my bag of apps again.
It seemed to work fine when I installed it 2 days ago, but now the controls are there but the viewfinder is just a black screen. Yesterday it started black, I fiddled with settings and got a picture that was half green, then without changing other settings suddenly it was fine. But today it's all black. Will try to reinstall, but don't have high hopes.
It says you can take long exposure pictures up to 60 seconds. The instructions arent for this app tho. Pics of the interface for basic operation dont match even a little. None of the steps in the instructions are accurate at all. None of the descriptions match up. Garbage.. I dont think this app can even take long exposures. Been messing around for a really long time trying to find the option w No luck. Gonna poke around a little more and delete it if it wont do what i downloaded it to do .
I tried using it for astrophotography, mounting the phone to the camera, but it definitely didn't work properly. Longer exposure times do not result in a deeper image. Once it had an audacity to tell me that no frames were sent for a long exposure image, so I suspect that it internally takes a series of images and coadds them, which, well, coadd the noise as well, so it is impossible to collect enough light on anything that isn't visible in the preview window. You can get star trails of the brightest stars, but any nebulosity, any faint objects, you can forget about it. Not to mention, it is very battery hungry.
This app is horrible for Android users! I downloaded the app and was even excited about the being able to control the ISO, Shutter Speed, and Exposure before taking the shot. But I often resulted to using the auto mode due to a lack of control with the exposure tool! The screen would often become very dark and the exposure tool could not be clicked on. Also images came out extremely pixilated. I got better results from my phone' s HDR settings
Decent camera but a bit slow. Out of 5 tested apps this landed in the middle of the pack. I have done several tests on various decides, clean cache and memory, clean start etc. It takes 1.5 x the amout of time from the best performers (also free) from "start of the app to the first shot and picture saved". Every second counts of you need to make picture as fast as possible.
The feature that I wanted most (interval/timelapse) does not work. It crashes the app 100% of the time. Support does not respond, and the website's FAQ self-help support page does not have any info on it at all. The search function returns 0 results, no matter what I search for. Too bad because some of the features seem nice, but I could not possibly recommend this to anyone with the fact that it crashes and offers ZERO support.
Installed and uninstalled in 30 seconds. I understand it's a free version but what I don't understand is why it gives you a max resolution of 2.1 mp. Give us photo in our cameras with full resolution with a watermark so we can get a real feel of the app. After that, we can purchased the paid version if we like it (which I won't be doing).
Interface is really not appealing. What so ever. Basic privileges are subpar due to the fact that other free apps achieve the same results or do better. Premium privileges don't seem worth the price, like why am I going to pay for high quality when my stock already shoots the highest quality. Also I'm not sure if some of the premium features are even available for my device I.E. I definitely know I can't take RAW pictures. It's just not worth the buy and free version doesnt give enough to decide
App crashes constantly and repeatedly after running only a minute or two, or less. Controls look fine, but that's rather moot, when you can't get it to run long enough to actually take a photo... The only positive thing I can say about it, is that it uninstalled flawlessly. I, unfortunately, can't give it zero stars.
Crashes and hangs Very nice when it works. However if crashes after phone goes into sleep mode and is woken up .. the camera comes back up on wake up but it's frozen and must be cleared with the task manager. Also other bugs. Love the features the layout just wish it worked without hanging and crashing.
I'd buy the paid version if it was reliable. I got a new Xiaomi Mi 9T (Redmi K20) which is still unrooted and on stock rom. Whenever I press the "Interval shooting" option, it just closes itself. I want to use my phone for making long-exposure timelapses at night. Would be great if you could look into the problem, as I said, I'd be happy to pay if it worked!
Great App. I tried this on my Samsung s9+. Too be honest I don't know why I tried it maybe just board in Lockdown. Anyway I took a few photo's and noticed straight away that Fv-5 was a lot clearer and colours where better too. I did a zoom comparison and on the phones own software the picture was not that clear on max zoom. With FV-5 it zoomed in more and was very clear. I took a photo of stones and rubble and even the smallest stones you could see clearly. Going for full ver for sure.
The exposure bracketing is not customizable good enough level. It sort of works automatically, it captures 5,6, or 7 photos (even if set to 0.7 EV and 7 photos. Also shutter speed jumps around. I only wanted to save DNG, but it saves jpg png and dng same time. Biggest positive is png save speed, it's fast, 7 photos take 15 seconds, HedgeCam takes 240 seconds.
Had the payed version of the older app. Bhought I'd try this out. But no. Like that one, I film in 1080p and it seems to work fine... but try switching to 2160p (UHD) and the app crashes the moment you presd pause... it was the same on my note4 as on my current One+5t... the fact that they went to a new app without fixing these basics seems fishy... not to mention that even if it worked on the new one I'd have to pay for something I have already payed for... so no... I do not trust these guys.
The app is unusable after paying for the pro with Xperia XZ1 Compact. It shows only 8MP max resolution (I could live with that) and it gets stuck after taking one or two photos every time. It just shows a rotating circle and won't do anything. For taking another photo I have to kill and restart the app or change to front camera and back. Weird is that the Lite version works alright.
Reasonable app. I like being in control of iso and other manual things that my onboard camera app doesn't have. I have an oppo a5s. What I don't like: Very often the app crashes. Almost every time I open it. So I need to start it several times. Minimum iso I can set is 100 though meta data of auto iso pictures tell me my phone has a lower base iso than 100. I also don't like that below 1 second you can't really control the shutter time. There is no 1/16 eg but only "short" and "long".
Very disappointed. When I first downloaded this app it WAS awesome! Settings were easily operational. Images clean clear detailed nice color. I do alot of nature and astrotography so quality and setting options are very important. You guys ruined a good thing. It also has issues with permission settings which was my final draw when I wasn't even using my phone it turned on taking pics no joke one day over 4000!!!! An it kept overiding my control n security settings not F'n cool!👎🖕✌️
This is Great! All of the basic manual controls I've been wanting on my phone! Works well. Easy to use, opens fast, no brainwork -- just adjust and capture. Now I have wayyyyyy more control over my images, and I almost feel like I have my FujiFilm with me rather than my LG Stylo 5. If I happen to have my extra lenses and tripod in my backpack, it's as though I have a full setup without feeling like I'm carrying extra gear!
To developers @FGAE , Hello dev team. I have been using this app for quite Some time now maybe a year and i am really impressed by the controls this app provied over the camera. But there are two things i think should be pointed out. Firstly the focusing in low light imaging is a little disappointing because it takes quite a while to focus. Which it does successfully sometimes. Secondly, i really think you should work on your algorithms. I have tried same combination of Camera settings on same object one with default camera and other with your app. The app gives good photos but a lot of noise gets added. Which is really disappointing considering how good this app is. I am sure with your timely updates these little issues will resolved too.
Long exposure images look like water colour and don't actually "expose" the image e.g. make it lighter, the image doesn't get any lighter even on 60+ seconds exposure on tripod, anyway to fix this? My default camera app supports 32 second exposures and it does it really well, not sure what this app is doing differently :/
This app only works on older versions of Android software. I have an old phone running 4.3 and the app works fine, but on my every day Samsung, nothing works. Probably because the app hasn't been updated in at least 3 years. So if you have the latest and greatest, don't bother, because it's not going to work. But on my old samsung Android, all functions are operating well. I would give it 5 stars for the old version, but zero stars because it's way out of date. So it gets a 3. Grab an old Android
this app is good but when i take a picture my picture is un mirrored plss fix it have a mirror botton
I just started using FV-5 lite with my Nokia 5.4 which has a decent camera for the price point, 46MB quad "Ziess" lense etc.. Only the default software is lacking, "Burst" mode was sporadic, timing was off, laggy focus etc. Now everything feels tight and responsive, burst & focus is quick and steady. I can see myself upgrading to pro very soon.
Doesn't record videos. Doesn't have full shutter or exposure control. Doesn't have a timer. I need an app with manual aperture and shutter speeds and exposure controls. Doesn't do long exposures. Only used it a few times so far but looking for these features came up empty.
Max resolution 2048x1536, or buy Pro.... As settings options apears under home button, app is quite useless. As soon as I try to change a setting, home button is activated and I'm on the home screen. If I pay, does Pro version work. Not even going to try. If you don't have the time to do it correct the first tme, when will you have time to do it correct? ISO set to 100, my guess is it really is1600. Lot of settings, but non of them change anything.
There's a bug in my Realme 3 Pro. After I do an act (settings, see album, or anything else), always close the app by itself. And when I click the album, there's another bug in the display, the photo's position is down of the display, not center. Please fix :)
A lot of options which can overwhelm users. You could try to scale down the ui and add labels for the options because i cant seem to find which option does what? Also you need to make the icons smaller.A tutorial or guide on manual photography and how to take advantages of the features would be a massive help.As it stands right now this is only meant for the "know it all" experts photography demographic.
Most unstable cam app on the market. It crashes every time you return from the gallery and every time you activate it. I mean EVERY TIME. If you set exposure to "short" or "long" or some other values it will display focus as NaN and just shoot black blank images. It's just the tip of the iceberg. Developers don't seem to test the app at all. PS. Just updated. Now it can't even focus anymore. Just keeps trying infinitely.
