Car Scanner ELM OBD2
Car Scanner is a vehicle / car performance / trip computer / diagnostics tool and scanner that uses an OBD II Wi-Fi or Bluetooth adapter to connect to your OBD2 engine management / ECU.

The app requires a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth LE) OBD2 ELM327 compatible adapter (device) to work. ELM327 devices plugs into the diagnostics socket in the car and gives your phone access to car diagnostics.
Recommended adapters brands: Kiwi 3, Viecar, V-Gate, Carista, LELink, Veepeak.
If you buy one of the cheap china OBD2 ELM327 adapters from ebay / amazon, then make sure it’s not marked as v.2.1. This adapters are supported, but they have lot’s of bugs.
PLEASE NOTE: Vehicle ECUs vary in the amount of sensors supported. This app can’t show you something, that is not provided by your car.
Attention "bad" adapters! We faced the problem, that some adapters (often cheep Chinese clones), can’t connect to the smartphone or the car. Some of them can even make your car engine work unstable, often lost connection, increase time lag when reading data.
So, we recommend you to use genuine ELM327 or recommended adapter brands.

To be honest this is the best OBD2 scan app I have ever use. Why because it work very well with my ELM 327 Bluetooth interface. And it works on every car perfectly well cause I had worked with on Ford Edge 2007, 2013 and BMW X6 2010. But the things I think you should add if possible is sensor and service settings and resets.
The app worked really well with the LE Bluetooth OBDII sensor that I'd picked up online. I'd downloaded this app just to clear some long standing fault codes on an old car, and it did that with no problems. Am now looking at what else I can do with it, as the app has more functionality than I expected. Nice Job!!
What was once possibly the best has had it's features removed and now offers less than other similar free options. No thanks to an update the video watching option for more use is gone and so is a bunch of important and good features. I can no longer recommend this app. There's nothing it does anymore that a budget scanner can't on it's own. Basically this just collects your info and now adds an unnecessary step to using your scanner. Avoid until it goes back to how it was.
Very handy and excellent OB2 scanner. It provides a lot of other data, fuel consumption, 0 to 60 mph, tourque, horsepower, and much more. I just installed it 2 days ago, and am learning it. But I I think it's awesome and wanted to support the developer, so I bought the pro version. Which by the way is less than a cost of a Starbucks coffee. So, please support them.
Great app! For the amazing price of FREE! At that price it could do nothing and be worth it, but it does alot which makes it more than worth it. I would like to have a little clearer instructions on the first time connecting but I figured it out anyway. Thanks car scanner for giving us all this for none of that $
I really like it, the data available in this app is amazing just simply great. Works very well with a VGate module from Amazon, the chart data and logs are amazing as well just an all around great app. This tool should be on everyone's phone.
Ok app but contacting develop through app is buggy and non functional. Compared to my dealer's scanner, this software is showing cylinder misfires that theirs does not. So accuracy is questionable. There's also no profile for my fiat 124 spider which is a recent model car.
Awesome OBD scanner! I have the paid version and it's helped me pinpoint several Check Engine light codes. It has a bunch of other features as well, but I really haven't used those a whole lot; mostly the code reader.
I installed this on my Android tablet, bought an OBD2 to USB adapter, then a another adapter for my tablet USB, which was different. After all that, it still wouldn't connect to my car because it was looking for WiFi or Bluetooth instead. Absolutely useless. Looks like I need to buy more hardware to connect my OBD2 port to WiFi or Bluetooth. If that works, I'll report back and possibly upgrade this review.
I am a professional mechanic. A few years ago I was looking for a scanner for my phone to use on the road, in case of emergencies. Since then, Car Scanner has become my main diagnostic tool. After installing Car Scanner ELM OBD2, I recommend upgrading to Car Scanner Pro. You won't regret it. I use Veepeak OBDCheck BLE Bluetooth OBD II Scanner with Car Scanner Pro, the combination has never failed me. I chose to pay the top dollar option to support the developer, it is worth so much more.
It simply works. Used with a VeePeak VP01 (WI-FI) adapter on my Mazda BT50 2016 to reset the BCM after an incorrect wattage headlight bulb shut down the low beam headlights. Well laid out good features.
I'm not an expert in obd2, but this app is quite simple and straightforward to use, plus there's a lot of functionalities. Absolutely worth the pro price. Interface could be a bit more refined, though.
Found fault codes a traditional scanner was unable to despite the dashboard being lit up like a Christmas tree. That alone is worth the price for the full app as it saved me much more by not having to get it diagnosed by a mechanic. So many other functions that I have to explore yet too
Periodically (about once a year) my check engine light would come on with an error. I purchased the device to clear the code. My thinking was if the error was legitimate, it would come back on. But it didn't come back on for another year.
Excellent app. I've been able to enable features on my Tiguan with the pro version that I didn't have; Dynamic road signs, auto high beam, longer lane assist.
Everything is locked down. This app used to be the best now its next to useless for my uses. I feel im having oil pressure issues. 6 months ago i could have seen what the sensor was reading but due to updatez that function has been taken away, and moved to the "pro" version. Unfortunately ig its time to find a new app and uninstal this one. Maybe just time to get a real obd2 scanner.
This app is great! I can connect to my car's sensors and read/reset diagnostic codes. I especially love the dynamically updating dashboard. It lets me see my instantaneous and average gas milage. Very useful! Thank you for maming a great app!
Worked great on my truck. Free version found problem. I bought the pro version. Great program for the price. If you use someone free program and it does what you expected. Support them. It takes time and effort to write good programs.
Works great with the Fold 3 and Bluetooth scanner. I tried a few apps and this was easy to use and shows valid information and clears fault codes and gives more in depth information for faults that occur. I Purchased the pro version today .
Connected to Vgate iCar Pro OBD2 adaptor immediately via Bluetooth, and enables both reading and resetting (deleting) of fault codes, even in the free version. I think the advanced support is better for some vehicles than others, but it worked fine on my Citroen C1. I upgraded to the pro version to support the developer and because the cost was modest compared to other paid apps.
Not sure I know enough about OBD11 to say if this so is the puppy's privates yet, but it has been easy to set up and use. Initially for a BEV and now the other cars on the drive. Dashboard editor suffers from being too fiddly to use for an oldster like me, is there a way to swap dashboard config with other users? Chances are, we all want mostly the same layouts?
Overall this is a nice app. The connection to the obd2 Bluetooth tool is seamless and fast. Always connects without fail. The major drawback to me is that it doesn't disconnect when you turn the car off in your garage. That continued connection causes the obd2 tool to never go to sleep and thus drain the battery. If you don't drive for a week, a 50mah draw can be a lot on a 3-4 year old battery. I wish it had some way of knowing that the car is off and would disconnect after say 30 minutes.
works very well. better than any similar app I have used. one thing they might consider is to provide a link to a place where one can see what the live data is basically supposed to look like for comparison. the info provided about O2 sensor voltages, lean ratios, and timing advance is all great but if you don't know what it's supposed to look like you don't know much.
Excellent app! Does everything I need it too and more, I've been working on cars for 20 years now and never used a Bluetooth scanner before! I would always use the really expensive snap on scanners, but with this app I will save so much $$$$$. It works perfectly, the paid version is sooooo much better for me, but the free version was still quite impressive! Never will I buy an over priced scanner again!!!!
The app is very good and has a lot of features even with the free version and purchasing the unlimited pro version is extremely cheap. I have it Bluetooth connected to a veepeak scanner and can pull all the engine codes. You can touch the codes and the app will open up your search engine and find better descriptions, possible problems that causes it, as well as possible solutions. I'm not very car smart but it has definitely helped me troubleshoot and fix what I can in mine and friends cars.
I've been using the free version of the app, & I must say I was surprised at the features it has with it's "limitations" & Ads. I was pleasantly surprised. Well I just upgraded to the pro, to do with no "limitations" & see what happens. *Update* Good app, If & when you can "connect" . Buffers then "unable to connect" tests your patience. But works decent once 'connected' .
