PLEASE BRING THIS APP BACK TO THE PLAY STORE! Google's Carboard Camera was my favorite way to capture a moment or space. It was the perfect way to revisit a past life, a past time, hear what you heard in that moment of capture as well as view it in a 3D space was incredible. What made it so perfect was that you didn't need an external device to capture a 3D space. You just needed your phone. Sure, it didn't stitch photos together perfectly 100% of the time, but that didn't matter! It still allowed you to get closer to a time and space than you could in any other way. Video doesn't give you a sense of depth like a 3D photo with sound. I'm deeply saddened there hasn't been any developments for this app. For now, I will continue to download it to my phones as long as the APK is available from other websites. Please bring it back!

One of my absolute favorite apps. People complaining that this only takes panoramas are completely missing the point. It allows you to take panoramas and then view them in stereoscopic 3d with a VR headset (Daydream or Cardboard). It uses the changing position of the camera as you turn around the panorama to record a separate image for the left and right eye, which is why you can't take photo spheres or anything like that. As nice as it would be to get a full sphere, the 3D effect is far more important to me. I use this whenever something special is going on, as it's a great way to relive a memory, especially with the audio playing back when viewing a panorama. I believe most of this app's functionality has been integrated into the main camera app, so this app is now somewhat obsolete, but still, VR panoramas are worth checking out.

Makes 360 stereo (3d) photos with sound that can be viewed by cardboard type vr goggles (by viewing it through the app). This is the most immersive photo that I can take with only a phone, and i have not found another app like it yet. Practically takes me back to the place or see the people I just photographed good for memory keeping. However, the photo browse and sharing could be improved. Cannot organize photos (into categories or put into folders) or easy method to send them to others.

I miss this app even though it takes more time to do a panoramic then my phone can do. I love that it has sound because when I get home from vacation it feels like it was actually there when I put on the headset and spin around in my swivel chair.

Amazing concept, but like much of Google's cooler stuff, it gets no love and is gathering virtual dust. Basic functionality like picking an exposure lock point, switching cameras (I'm stuck using my 5mp wide-angle with poor dynamic range and low-light performance, instead of my 46mp main) are missing and don't feel like they're ever getting added... :/

Recently went on a short break and thought I'd give this a whirl, very impressed with the results and if you have "record sound" option enabled it takes you right back to where you took the photo. Easy to use and understand, you can share your photo if you want too. Great app.

It claims it takes 3D photos that can be viewed on a VR headset, but I can't find how. I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it, but with no joy of missing features suddenly appearing. It's almost as if everyone has started to confuse "3D" with 360°. :-/

I love this app. I was able to take 360 pics of our home and garden to share with my mom who has Dementia and can't travel to visit us. I just popped my phone into a very inexpensive ViewMaster viewfinder and she was amazed. It was wonderful hearing her excited exclamations. I was looking for the app to suggest a friend install it only to discover it is no longer in the app store. I am so sorry to learn that. It was (is) a good app. Should have kept it.

Great panorama app. I had a lot of issues with panoramas using my OnePlus3t stock camera app. Switching to Cardboard Camera was the best idea ever. No more jagged lines where photos are stitched together, better colour balance and can take photos faster. Completely recommend!

Completely underrated app. To get the best pictures on the cheap use a selfie stick! Great for also picking up the sounds around the picture as well as the VR 3d effect. It's great! Can't wait for the next/more feature filled version.

Could be better It makes 360 images only at the horizontal level. There top side and bottom is not captured. I know it can't be like a professional 3d camera. But still, you can make it better

The devs should include true 360° photo taking (aka a photosphere) option. A simple long panorama can be achieved by most (simple) other apps in the play store. I believe Google can develop a photosphere app that most (if not ALL) apps lack

Loved this app. Not used in a long while as my phone is now too big for my headset. Took great VR pics with sound. Wish other platforms copied this feature, I've only seen it on Google Cardboard and still miss using it.

I hate the application. I've spent a lot of time creating various complex panos, and today my priceless panoramas from all around my country disappeared THIRD TIME. First two times happened months age, and I forgive that, as it still was painfully to me, but this time I'm full of hate. I am very very sad about you google team, for destroying my memories I had no option to properly transfer, backup or export in any way.

Most importantly it's free, good image quality and capture speed(-30s), ofc both of which depends on your device(mine is snapdragon 625, 3GB ram and 16MP cam). For those you who think it's slow; you should consider your device's hardware when reviewing apps.

Excellent! This app made my life easier; I took a photo of the living room and I could see downstairs when I was actually in my bedroom! The only negative was I had to move very slowly to capture the panaroma. But other than that, good! 😀

it works but does it expect me to damn spin around for half a damn hour practically saying "slow down" and then telling me to completely restart because I was going too fast sometimes? It works well except for that, I dont need my photos to be perfect all the time

The app is very good, epically when contributing the panoramas on Google maps, unfortunately the resolution is not that good, you should update the camera app to allow selecting a custom resolution and camera (since most phones have multiple cameras)

One of my favorites because it also records the environmental sounds One question: is there anyway to view these on a PC so they're easier to share to a group?

It only use for VR that to I have to install another app even after that it'snot working and most irritating is it's not linked directly to playstore butto chrome browser and it is not good for still camera capture because no such feature visible.

Leo. V. G. Jul 19, 2019

it's alright i guess. I was hoping for more of a "sphere shaped" panorama since it's been free on my old Windows tablet for a while. Can't find an app that does that...yet.

TBB. Dec 1, 2019

Took beautiful pictures on my Galaxy Note 8, but the pictures look absolutely horrible on my Galaxy Note 10 plus! They are dark and covered in black lines in the parts of the pictures where the sun is shining at the camera, and are over-exposed and pixelated in the parts of the picture that the sun is shining on.

Ant. M. Feb 5, 2019

This app is pointless as it's just a panorama rather than a full photo sphere. Add the photo sphere functionality that's in street view and pixel camera to this app or rename it to "Panorama for Cardboard."

Anu. A. Jan 18, 2019

it always fails to make a 360 panorama tried 100 times, and even the light is uniform and nothing is moving, not worth the effort useless app

Rya. H. Dec 12, 2020

One of the better 360° camera apps out there. Strange when I search "cardboard camera" on the play store, it's nowhere to be found. Found this link on a website.

Exposure lock missing. Generates poor image quality. Not for HD resolution with indoor windows, sea, sand, snow or other landscape that changes brightness/shot exposure.

L. M. Sep 22, 2019

Very hard to take a picture, unless my device is in perfect vertical position, it won't take one, totally USELESS!!!

This allows you to create your own vr shots but is so hard to find on the app store. I have to search my purchase library to find it when reinstalling.
