Cardiograph - Heart Rate Meter

Cardiograph is an application which measures your heart rate. You can save your results for future reference and keep track of multiple people with individual profiles.
Cardiograph uses your device's built-in camera or dedicated sensor to calculate your heart's rhythm
- the same approach used by professional medical equipment!

✓ Measure your heart rate

It's never been easier to know what your heart rate is! Without any external hardware, just using the built-in camera/sensor of your smartphone or tablet, you can get accurate readings almost instantly.

✓ Know how fast your heart is beating

It can be very useful while exercising, if you're under stress, if you have a heart-related medical condition, or even just out of curiosity.

✓ Track your results

Every measurement you take is saved to your personal history, so you can keep track over time.

✓ Multiple profiles

Cardiograph is perfectly tailored to allow multiple people to use the app on a shared device. You can create profiles for each of your family members or friends, and each of them has their own individual measurement history.

✓ Clean and intuitive design

The streamlined and clutter-free design makes it seem instantly familiar, so you can focus on using the app instead of navigating through series of screens.

✓ Android Wear support

Cardiograph is specifically designed with Android Wear support. You can measure your pulse using the hear rate sensor in your smartwatch. Please note that Cardiograph will work on smartwatches with a heart rate sensor only.

Please note: If your device doesn't have a built-in camera flash, you need to take your measurements in a well lit environment (bright sunlight or close to a light source).

I have an arrythmia. Some apps don't know what to do with pauses between beats and quit. Most apps only remember the heart's rate; this one's better. I can run it as long as I want and it saves a chart of the heart's beats for that time. I also like the profiles; I give myself a new one each month; that makes reviewing easier. An improvement idea: it would be nice if the user could make a short note (up to 10 words) with each use. The activity icons are nice, but a note would enhance the record.

Very frequently double counts pulses: when counting pulses by hand shows ~60 BPM the app will show ~100, with double pulses right next to eachother, then the next will be normally spaced. Then, because it only attempts to read a pulse for a few seconds if it reads anything, it will report a pulse around 90 in the scenario above. Another pulee app on my phone does not have these flaws, so this is an issue with the app, not the hardware.

It's simple, no nonsense app. I don't know it's accuracy as I don't have any other device which accurately checks hear rate, so I can cross reference it, but for day to day or for an apparent idea of your heart rate, this app will work (Fabulously, as well). Had an suggestion though, please allow us to connect it to google fit app, will make all fitness realted data easy to access as well as maintain.

Works ok. However, I'd really Ike the ability to send data to Google Fit. It should also detect if there's a heart rate sensor on the device, and default to that if present (instead of defaulting to the camera). I'd also like the option to pay for an ad-free version. I'd pay for either of those things, actually. :) It's absurdly difficult to find a simple small app that just takes my pulse and sends it to Google. This is so close.

This app has picked up on irregularities well. And is accurate in detecting rate. But I really wish there was a way to make a note to say what was going on when I used it at that particular time. Something other than "resting", "warm up" etc. Sometimes I get palpitations and will check my rate. Would be nice to be able to add a note like "palpitations while cooking dinner". Then I can fill my doctor in when I see him next.

Questionable results - should show the raw data. I can hear my pulse clearly with my head on my pillow, and this app tended to add extra beats every now and again. There should be a display that graphs the actual data, perhaps with the analysis superimposed. Also, in night mode (greyed display) the activity icons don't change appearance - invert their background/foreground to make selection clearer for visually impaired people.

I measured my heart rate same time with this app and and taking reading in a traditional way. App gave me somewhat correct reading once. Other readings were incorrect, example 60/89. This app is not giving proper readings. But I know that camera can be used for this purpose, if it is good enough. Idea is that camera registers rhythm from tiny blood vessels on skin. So without proper light and good camera this is not recommended. Maybe good idea is to use clean finger too.

Found this quite good and near enough spot on. I have pvcs and wanted something that could pick them up. This app does that. I can clearly see the pause in my heart beats when I have 1. Although it isn't an app that will try to tell you what is wrong with your heart. I have also found that it seems to add a heart beat every now and again, but this could be movement from my twitchy finger.

This app says that it is designed with Android wear in mind and is compatible with those devices if a heart rate sensor is present. I checked ever possible menu and there was no such option to utilize my watch instead of the camera. If there is an option the developers either removed it and did not update the store or it is buried in one of the menus that do not work.

No where to connect to a wearable device, so that's a straight up lie. Doesn't work with phone sensor, or front camera, no matter how I hold the phone, or the light power. Unless you have the ability to hold your finger over the camera for a while, it does not pick up much. Pretty useless.

It's definitely a little bit hanky and the pressure has to be just right and the lighting has to be correct and please don't make the mistake of thinking you're actually seeing a real ECG QRS complex it will however be helpful if you are working out and trying to maintain a steady heart rate if you can get consistent and accurate readings but definitely very neat I am going to check but I would think that some of the other applications May perform better but kudos to the developers

First off, the rear camera option continually failed to even register a pulse. I had to use my front facing lens. Secondly, in the same setting, sitting on my bed with all lights in my room on and no movement in between readings, I took four readings and got four completely different heart rates.

It used to be a good app and was somewhat reliable. I used it most of the times when i was having heart palpitations. But now it stops every time after about 5-10 seconds. Uninstalled.

a really great app with a nice UI but it lacks synchronization with Google Health.. would be awesome if you can add that to the app - also auto checking the heart rate for smart watches would make the app perfect 👌

Glo. L. Nov 17, 2019

I can't even make a profile because it won't record my irregular heartbeat. I tried 10 times, making sure to follow the instructions closely, and it says there was a problem getting a measurement and records nothing. Useless.

I really liked this one until the sensor stopped working. I use it at night and the ones with sensors work way better than the camera. Please bring it back.

This does not use the flash on my phone and does not seem to take reliable measurements as compared with other similar apps. Great interface but more work needed.

To those who put 1*. This is not app problem, but too small fingure vs. too large camera. So fingure does not cover camera full enough (or you squash fingure too much to get camera covered). I mean I support u guys. This app never works for my wife as her fingure is small. However I insist it is 5* app. I have this app for over 5 years (3 device changed since). Always accurate for me while NEVER works for my wife.

Not acurate because it stops the measuring after 7-8 seconds, it is too short. If auto stop feature is turned off, you can see the correct result after 15-20 seconds or more.
