I have been using this app for over 10 years and just bought new phone and cannot sync dAta from Note 3 to my new Note 5. Error message check wifi connection. Will not advice anyone waste time to enter card info which would be lost once you change phones.
I really like card star, makes it so handy for keeping all my rewards cards in one place. Recently bought a New phone and am having trouble getting my cards onto my New phone. Several emails to constant contact and I still can't get them transferred. I hope someone helps me soon.
I was skeptical when a casher told me that she could no longer accept a picture of my loyalty card to apply my discount. Instead she recommended this app. I have loaded 8 cards onto it and used three so far without a problem. Loading was intuitive and easy with and without actual cards to scan. Great concept, great app. I hope to see more stores and loyalty programs using and accepting this program. Thank you!
Great app, with this app I took 25 rewards barcode membership cards out of my physical wallet and made it 45 percent thinner. Now I only forget my loyalty cards as often as I forget my phonellll which is almost never. Great app it never malfunctions when I'm using it and it works without internet a big plus on the road with limited mobile data with zero or minimal access to Wi-Fi
Recovering to new device needs account info (it says number, but email and pin), the PIN only feature for restore hasn't worked for me. But I like the app. Cards are stored in app. Can backup to cloud. Used to have export function so you could ignore cloud. Would like to see that function brought back.
This app is great however when I switched from my iphone to my LG G 2 I couldn't restore the app settings because the two apparently don't work together, the passwords use different formats. I emailed the cards to myself and when I opened the email on my new phone, even though CardStar was installed on the phone and I had imported a card to make sure it was working, it still didn't recognize the app. It wouldn't be so frustrating except that I shouldn't have to - it just doesn't work.
2013 Original review. Great app. Thank you..... Update 7/2014 while trying to transfer all of my cards and contacts to my new phone I emailed CardStar for a question. They emailed me back within just a few minutes and helped me solve the issue I was having with login and syncing. Thank you very much card star I would definitely recommend this app
This app is a great idea so you don't have to carry all those store savings cards. Just put your card in the app and put the store savings card away. The only drawback is when you get a new phone or delete the app you have to reinstall all the cards again when you download the app again. There is no account to save the cards in for future use. Other than that the app is awesome. Still 5 stars.
Handy App BUT it is not possible to scan the barcode at some stores. The places where I visited w/this app they had to type the number on their system to see my membership. I think the reason is because of the screen's glare of the phone, not the app.
The app itself is great, you can store and scan all apps without any gimmick extras, but when i needed to set back my phone to factory settings all cards were gone and it requires some 4 digit code to reload a backup. if you dont know this code anymore, there is no way you get you backup back :-(
This app is great. I have tried others that have come preinstalled on my phone and they are not as good. I have changed phones Samsung to Samsung and had no problem backing up the cards. There aren't any ads that I have ever noticed. In one of the updates they even made the screen brighter so I have no problem scanning.
There are ample reviews describing the valuable utility of the Cardstar app. This comment is to acknowledge Cardstar’s incredible service. I was unable to restore my account to a newly acquired device. I emailed Cardstar support and within 15 minutes received the solution. I suspect that the request for assistance was aided by the email’s inclusion of my Cardstar account number. Storing the account number, and remembering where the number is stored (!), is worth doing.
Only suggestion is wish account was. easier to share cards between accounts for families that Max out rewards would be nice. Also needs option for notes when there is a pin or numbers for accounting...additional info type stuff
Barcodes still show up and the option to turn them off for some cards is available. A global setting for this might be useful but the ability to turn it off for individual cards is useful. Great app that still works great and now looks better. I would like a dark theme for the main page.
Love this app, helps keep my wallet clean. Only problem is that every time it updates I lose all of my stuff & takes a while to re-sync again. Seems like a server issue. Always corrects itself eventually but it's a little inconvenient sometimes.
Although I haven't had the opportunity to use it in any stores, I will say that I am impressed with the ease of setup and the overall look and feel. Update: after having used this app for a while, I love it. I found it to be very convenient and could port the data over to my new phone easily. It definitely a keeper.
Love that you can back this up just in case your phone craps out on you and you have to get a new one. Saved me from trying to find my cards again to input then in a new phone 3 times (yeah I'm hard on my phone's)
Do not update or upgrade your phone if you plan on keeping the cards you've saved throughout the years on this app! I went from having 10 work-related cards, to absolutely nothing. What's the point of this app if each time, I am booted out due to updates, I lose everything? This does not sync or have a "log in" option, so everything is gone AGAIN! I've given this app more chances than most because it's easy to use, but I think it's time to find something reliable & consistent.
Makes my wallet and key fob smaller and untangled. Keeps all my membership and reward cards in one convenient place. A number of barcode scanners can't scan from the device because the screen reflects the beam before it hits the LCD, but the merchant can always key in the number.
I have eliminated over 16 cards from my wallet. Stores that are not on the list are easily added. I no longer carry any store cards with me. Cashiers at stores are asking me what the name of this app is so they can download it too. I don't normally rate apps but this one is worth taking the time to rate!
Definitely one of the best apps out there, but missing key features which makes it fall behind: The ability of creating a home screen shortcut for specific cards that you use often, so checking in at the gym is quicker than having to go through the app and down the list! Logo icons of each card instead of the actual name list, or at least be given the choice (only app out there missing this feature!) And pre-selectable sizes for barcodes per card, to help with some finniky scanners, and a screen freeze.
I have this app on two other devices. But after installing on my nexus 5, it won't let me sync either with my account (unknown device) or my other devices (allegedly no internet connection, which is funny since I re-downloaded the app on the allegedly missing internet connection). So it rates only one star with me. UPDATE I FOUND A WAY TONSYNC THE APP AND ALL IS WELL NOW. Four stars
I absolutely LOVE having all my cards in my phone instead of having to drag them all along in my wallet or on my key chain. It sure makes it so much more convenient, organized and much less messy! Everything in one place....this is a MUST HAVE for anyone who is even the slightest bit on the OCD side.
For some reason the baroda doesn't display on all the cards. The person behind the counter still has to type it all in. It's useless at that point.

Only one suggestion. This app does not have option to mark how much balance left on saved gift cards. Neither it allows to enter it manually. App is also not for storing your receipts. If developers add these two features, this is going to be a great app.
Love this app! Now I always have all those annoying little cards w me whenever I go! No need to have 10 hanging off my keychain, another 20 stuffed in my wallet. When you need them you can never find them anyway! Not anymore!!! I always have my phone & now I always have all my cards in one convenient place! No hunting, lost cards, or stacks of cards in the way. Thank you for a great app! SO Convenient <3
This program has been around for years and yet has not got to the point where you're holding the information in a account rather than on the phone itself. The apps for IOS and Android are incompatible so you can't save your information and passed them to a new phone. Support literally told me to reenter all of them. Not helpful
