Character Story Planner

This is the first app that made me able to put more time on planning and writing. I love the simple layout but so detailed. The only thing that bother me is the image viewer isn't available and I can't ever crop the image to fit the size and still can't see the character face properly. But this feature has in the second version of the same app it should be applied here too. I love the simplicity of this app better.

Can't export character info as pdf. Just crashes when viewed, can't upload to Google drive or share via email. It's idea of "sharing" is a screenshot of the main menu and a link to the app in the Google play store. Additionally, you can't select text to cut/copy/paste anything entered into various sections, but there is a BIG handy "Clear" button right below each window to helpfully erase all of your progress for you. Honestly, this app seems like it could be useful, but it's current execution is absolute garbage. I could have done all of this on a word processor and been able to do more with it.

When I try to save my character profile by creating a pdf, the button does not respond. Also, the images are connected to the Gallery, such that if I hide the particular album, the picture in the app vanishes too. Overall, it's a really nice app, but if the above bugs are fixed, I will definitely rate it 5 stars. I hope you look into my problems at the earliest.

It's really nice to use, works smooth and has an eye pleasing layout. My main problem with it is the lack of an in-app image viewer, the app should also have an easier way to share your characters, stories, etc. Perhaps a document with the character details and such? Besides that, I have not bought the pro version but from what I heard it is cheap and worth it! Great app.

I'm writing multiple stories and I really wish there was a way to organize everything according to story. Also, I think the characters need to be organized better. I wish the characters could be sorted based on different categories. It's confusing to be looking at a jumbled up list of characters. Sometimes, I don't even remember what story they belong to. Lastly, although I appreciate the detailed descriptions, I really would love some tools for visual thinkers, such as timelines and mind maps.

Exceeded my expectations; I love how robust this is. UI is very easy to navigate. A great amount of detail can be included regarding characters, settings, relationships, etc. to help flesh out the more intricate parts of your novel. Your work can be backed up to the SD card. There used to be an "Export to PDF" feature, which has now been removed. A shame really. Hope they add it back with the next update. There is one ad at the bottom, but its non-intrusive. Otherwise, great app.

Brilliant app that allows you to explore and detail the smallest nuances of your story. Amazing stuff. Only problem I have is that the 'clear' button is way to close to the 'show/ hide details' button. Moreover, it is wayyy too easy to erase everything you've worked on because of that button, which is unfortunate and upsetting because that's all your work gone down the drain. I think the developers should make it less easy to 'clear' content. Maybe a step system would suffice.

at first, this app was amazing. I could organize all of the characters in my universe, put their relationships with others and it was so detailed and I adored it. most recently, however the names began to get cut off which is a minor pet-peeve, but then it stopped showing the images I assigned my characters. it also got a bit buggy, and I keep restarting my phone or exiting the app then coming back, but nothing seems to work. I'm very frustrated because I loved this app before.

I really enjoyed using this app. It's quick and easy to use when created, or even just writing down, characters if your own. It also includes menus for you to make scenes, worlds, and items. You can pick the time of day in your scenes and insert your photos. You can put in the relationship between one OC to another and add notes. There's even a spot for custom writing for anything not covered by the app. There's so much more! Overall, I think this is a good, easy-to-use app. Worth it

I've always enjoyed using this app and it's multitude of variety and detail. I believe that the team that came up with the concepts, the coding, design, the program itself, is talented and thoughtful when it comes to both character and world design. With that said, there's one issue I've recently been having. I can only assume it started due to an update of some sort, but I can't be too sure or certain of any specific update. The issue I've been facing is a random program shutdown.

Been working with this app for quite a while now. It's clear, easy to use and got almost everything for a writer's needs. Be wary of your data tho. When I first started using it it crashed and all my notes were gone. Further, as I got a new phone I backed up the data to my SD card but when I wanted to restore it on my new phone it didn't work. Hundreds of notes gone, support didn't respond. It's really frustrating so make sure to save your notes somewhere else in case the app crashes.

The start of a very good app but missing some vital elements. Plenty of options to help you develop your world, places, characters. There is no ability to share your work with other applications such as a wordprocessor. Sorting is frustrating if you have more than one set of characters, different worlds etc. I bought the upgrade and have also downloaded the second version. Still hoping for more.

The app is nice and everything. It is a good way to create worlds and characters in deep detail which helps in creating subplots. The only suggestion that I have is that there should be a platform to save your files. That way we won't lose our data even if the device we use changes. Another thing I would want is to be able to segregate the characters in the character tab itself. I know that the story tab unites them all but then it doesn't let us view the characters individually there.

Pretty good, as a person who gets pretty deep into world-building, I like that I can sort out all my info instead of having a mess of files in a million different places like i usually do. I have not run into any problems so far, but I do have a few suggestions. For world, maybe add some options for countries, and to upload a map. And having a language section would be nice, so can add a vocabulary.

This a really great app. It's simple and easy to use. My only complaint is that the pictures I have set for all my character's constantly disappear except for two. Which is odd. I'm always having to reupload the picture's but after a day, they vanish again! It can be really frustrating so please fix it. I know this isn't just me having this problem according to the reviews I read for this app.

I like this app a lot, it makes me have extra questions about my characters and it's fun to fill in blanks I didn't know I had. However, I had to switch devices and I found out that none of my data had saved at all. I don't know if it's a bug that I happened to get, but the back up data to SD card button didn't work. Overall though, this is a good writing app.

It's a very in-depth character builder, but there's a lot of features that should be added. The biggest one is a custom box that is added to a category and is applied to every character, instead of being put away in Custom. Also there should be more categories for things besides Characters - e.g. Stories only has Characters and Scenes subcategories, so there should be more. Having folders to put items or characters etc in would make it easier to naviagte too. Additionally, if you select everything in the Main Text List settings, the character bios become cluttered. This app is very useful and it'll become much more useful if these features are implemented!

ok so I really enjoy a majority of the content, it's rather helpful and overall a nice idea. but the formatting is just SUCH a nightmare. the only way I could export anything was over preview --> Google drive. and then obviously it looked weird and spaces were all wrong. when you type something, say in the personality box and it's more then 3 lines, it's sort of annoying to type, you'll know what I mean If you have the same issue. finally, one time I deleted about half a page worth of ideas by accidentally clicking the clear button, would be nice to put a little 'are you sure?' there you'd get 4 stars for a way to properly get the file to my computer, and five for a more smooth overall feel cheers lads have a nice day

[New review] Pros: Great for world-building especially for the fantasy genre, organized Cons: SD card only back-up option, hard to use search function, hard to scroll text box, aesthetically displeasing combination of fonts (though there's an option to turn them off) FOR THOSE WHO "LOSE" FILES AFTER USING SEARCH: Keep pressing backspace (don't let go), even if you don't see anything in the search box. Pressing the magnifying glass adds a line break for some reason and counts as a search term.

Very handy writing tool, pretty much everything I need in one app. No annoying ads or bugs are found. Has a nice looking design, great for planning a fantasy story, which is also a plus, personally. Using it almost for two years now, love it. I wish the character sheet preview would show details, too, instead of leaving you wondering if they're even there, making you tap on every paragraph to check that. A spoiler button, appearing under each detailed paragraph would be more convenient, I guess.

I loved the app, has incredible detail, but unfortunately the back up to sd card option seems to only serve as a decorative button, as although it does save the backup files, it can not read it back to itself.I moved phones, I did the backup, moved the card and then tried to resurrect my notes from the depths of the folder sea, only to have it not do anything. After some time I did find the folder, only to meet with the file saving format. It uses .db which no app seems to be capable of reading.

The app was a little slow, but not an issue. It was great at first, but then it started glitching with the photos. When I would add a picture, it would change to a previous one. Until eventually... After over 3 house of trying to find a good app and sorting things out for a story... All the photos are blank. Not showing a SINGLE character design.

I use this app for D&D, and I can say 100% it's the best one I've used so far. Apart from not having a cloud and me being afraid of loosing what I've done, it's so helpful. I can have characters, worlds, individual stories and places within the world. Even items. For a DM, it's really useful to have all my things in one place, with details for them all. Brilliant!

This app is marvelous and I've used it to write many worlds, characters and stories! However I'm unsure wether or not this app is still updated... Of course, despite its fuctionalities, it can be pretty lackluster in certain areas: the backup function is honestly really bad and needs a complete overhaul (popping up a message that says it has been done and making the restoring overall easier on other phones and even PCs), putting a "confirm" when clearing something and reworking how the ads load.
