Cobra iRadar®

The experience is great, but it has a major flaw: you're supposed to be able to close the app from the notification pulldown screen by just tapping on the notification. However this doesn't work, and to get the app to close (which is necessary because it drains so much power--another major flaw) you have to go all the way into your general settings menu, then to apps, then find the app in the menu, then click on it, then click force stop. This is a VERY tedious process when you regularly drive!

Just about ready to throw this thing against the wall. Purchased for $800CDN to get MultaRadar - unit did not have firmware update to V1.2 so the only feature I need is NOT THERE!!! Firmware update you ask? Only if you are sitting in your car - with a laptop, with the App that you can't download to your laptop, so you can power up the device and USB to the device - for that amount of money you don't even get a USB Power Cord?!?!? Oh, and feel free to call Cobra Tech support - 'please don't return it to us at your inconvenience, go back to your online retailer and let them deal with it' - absolute nonsense. oh, and one other thing - iRadar Developers should be ashamed - where is the simple, intuitive, OFF botton for the App?!?!? Should stop running the second it loses WiFi conection with the device - when I turn off my car for example... Just silly.

App consistently disconnects, subscription is worthless without opening the app every time you drive and leaving it open for the duration. Consistently tells me that my subscription has expired after disconnecting me until I go to settings and reconnect the device manually. Never received the free month of service after paying $150 for a new detector then getting screwed for another $6 just to find out the app is complete trash. Save your money and time, buy a different brand

Horrible app, just want to use my radar detector. Can't register or log in- just says there is a problem, no details. Cannot use the contact us link, cannot stop the app without going to settings and choosing force stop. Total junk.

For someone who is new to radar, I found it difficult to figure out what the false alarms were and what bands are used more commonly and what not. I thi k it would be helpful to give more details on knowing when to expect a cop or a sensor. Other than that it's already paid for itself.

Ever since the last update it randomly chooses wrong speed limits to display. Today it showed that the speed limit was 105mph in a 65. Then in a 35 it chose a very random number, 48mph. It also constantly shows "report rejected" for no reason.

App is extremely buggy, laggy, crashes and is borderline unusable. I have to constantly clear storage and cache for it to work properly, and connecting to the radar is hit or miss.

Cobra just updated this app. Go figure, it's still garbage! The app still stays open and a force stop is needed. Horrible. Speed limit display on device is broken. It is displaying absurd limits like 90 on a 50mph road.

works great, honestly I did not think that the app would work in the town I live in because it's small but WOW was I wrong. this works so well and when I hook it up to my rad 480i it just makes it 100x better. it's almost as good as some really expensive radar detectors

The app is rather good. I own a 29LX Max CB radio and I do like the integration. I'm not entirely sure if there should be an audible tone when an alert has been picked up, but I haven't found an option to enable it. It seems that audible alerts through the cb would be the safest way of conveying information to the driver, as this does not require taking eyes off the road. The battery drain is horrible, but as long as you force close the app that can be managed.

Nice features, the map shows where previously confirmed items are, radar trap, red light scamera etc. Mute and manage the Cobra from the app. However, the battery usage on my Note9 is very high, even when it's "off". I may have to remove it. As others have mentioned, I have to force close the app, big PITA. I'd also like to see mapping and directions integrated with the map.

After "FINALLY", getting the radar detector to connect to Bluetooth; I must have hit, "forget this device", not realizing. However, it has done just that! It connected 3-4 days ago for less than 5 minutes. I looked on Cobra's websites, followed the instructions in the manual, searched Google... For whatever reason I can't get my phone to find it again Other than feeling it's missing something, the app is actually pretty nice

Promising, but not there. Great if you have time to wait and reload the app three times with every use. Reported the bugs several times with logs, but received no replies. New app is better, but I received an error about 50 times in an hour drive. I reported it, but haven't heard anything back yet. It appears the app doesn't "play nice with others", needing to be loaded last and kept in the foreground. If I do something like take a phone call, the app stopped responding.

Good in Theory, I run this app in the background while using Waze for navigation. Every 5 to 10 minutes this app stops running if left in the background, thus it must be restarted repeatedly. I have tried turning off the optimization for the app in my settings for my phone, and turning off advanced optimization on my phone, but the app still quits if left in background. The apps settings do not let me change the settings of my Cobra Dual Pro because I can't see the choices. Alerts for adjacent roads get announced unnecessary. It is not necessary to have alerts for red lights while on a limited use highway. My phone has 6 GB and I am only running Waze and Iradar when the above issues appear. In order to use the navigation feature you must be able to locate your destination on the IRadar map. No search feature is available for your destination. Update 8/31/19 If I lock my IRadar app it will run in the background without quitting.

Only thing ok with this app is you can do settings on the device. Other than that, it's really worthless. The speed limit doesn't show. Can't get many other features to work. Live traffic, car find, etc can't even be found on the app. Get one year premium for buying a DaulPro 360 is cool but not worth even if it's free if the features don't work.

Horrible app. The Cobra 480i is a low budget detector that when running without the app gets constant false alarms unless you run the sensitivity setting on low. I like the idea if how the app is supposed to work, but unfortunately it has many, many flaws. I'm running it on a Samsung S20+ and the speed constantly goes to zero, thus when you are running the sensitivity mode in auto it changes every time it goes to zero. Also the sound randomly works when connected to app. Many other issues.

F****** Great. 480i and Everything runs perfectly. Has features I didn't even know that I should be demanding out of a radar until now. Only wish there was a way to connect the alerts to the head unit that I play music on. They both use Bluetooth so I'm sure that that's the reason likely due to my phones software (Nord N10), but if you guys can help figure it out that'd be great!! No complaints either way!

Take the time to properly set it up. Also, you can adjust the sensitivity in settings. When it comes to the radar informing you of potential police, most of these are from other users and therefore may no longer be there. In your phone settings you can set it up to either run in your background or not. If your Bluetooth is set up properly it will inform you through your car stereo about your speed and potential hazards. Overall there's a few things they need to fix but the app works great. 👍👍

Huge battery drain. App will not close by normal means, it requires a force stop to end battery drain. App also requires some permissions at all times which is a concern. Radar detector it pairs with is dependent on this app for multiple sales point features. App occasionally fails to connect to radar detector causing delays in departure times while troubleshooting. All of these issues seem long standing which leads me to believe that Cobra is not interested in optimizing this software.
