Says it "complete" but isn't actually complete. There are heaps of things it's missing. If it's missing things it shouldn't be called "complete" because complete implies it has everything in it. If I have to go on the forum for the info not included in the app what's the point of the app when I can go online for anything. The point of a "complete" app is for it to ALL be there.
AMAZING! A must have for any DnD player or DM! Some of the info is not where it should be (uncommon items in the rare category, monsters with improper CRs, and flat out not having something that's official content) Also the descriptions can leave out important info like save DCs and stipulations. But I can't live without it at this point. Also has the option to add new official content for free! I have all the books on mine!
Before uninstalling, id like to just say that this is the Incomplete reference for DND. 1 year of use and i still have to google the same things to get the info i need. I rate this app low because for 1 year, the developers have not added text, where it belongs. 0 effort. 1 year. No change. 2 stars.
When I look up an item like a spell, it brings up a summarized entry, but when I tap I that entry to expand it and read the full they text, there is zero content within. Just a way to bookmark the entry and a hyperlink to the spell's school. Same seems to hold true with other types of items. Can't seem to figure out how to fix it. EDIT: Reinstalling the app does seem to have fixed the issue, at least for now. Hopefully it'll last. Works great now. Super helpful app and dev support. Five Stars!
Seems the most complete of anything I've seen so far, and is really handy for looking stuff up on the go! Just wondering if there's any plans to add Ravnica? I notice that's not included yet but it is a little new. Ads also can jitter into and out of view, which can be disorienting, and when viewing in landscape (for example when viewing tables) it can tend to take up half of the screen. This is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. Other than that, really amazing app!
Excellent app. The way you import info took a bit to totally understand, but its very intuitive, adding your own content looks to be simple enough. I love the bookmark feature. The only thing I'd like to see added, is a menu option from the drop down on the right to go to initiative tracker and bookmarked entries from any screen, it could be enabled after purchase of the DM tools. I paid for the whole thing, and it's all very useful, I just find myself going back in and out of the initative screen to the main screen a lot., It slows the flow a bit. All in all, both the free stuff, the DM tools and the character tracker, are worth every penny.
A very useful app for quickly looking through all sorts of content which currently exists (taking a scroll through the Goods and Services tab showed me a lot of difficult-to-find information which I never even thought about before) and is not an app you need to spend any money to get good value out of it. Still, used some of my Google Rewards credits to unlock DM tools (which is the only one I'd suggest buying so far, as it's the only one I've purchased) and was not disappointed by what I found. My biggest issue is the custom content creator. While going into the forums to create content is quick and easy, formatting them properly is a bit awkward and takes a lot more work to make it look like the rest of the content pre-installed. The Generated format from the generic boxes is incomplete at best and formatted entirely differently than everything else.
Most useful D&D app I have (and I've got a few good ones). I have all the books but don't always have them with me, so this is a great mobile resource. The DM tools are great too, and everything is integrated well. For example, the initiative tracker allows you to add monsters and NPCs from the beastiary and you can quickly reference their stat blocks with the touch of a button.
The app is very well designed, and features continue to be expanded and refined. The character manager especially has improved greatly in the time I've been using it (more than a year,) and I'd recommend paying the very reasonable price for said character manager if you want an easy-to-use and convenient mobile character manager. Being able to download others' feats, items, classes, etc and create my own to download is also a useful feature. The app still has bugs, but most of them are minor.
This app seems like a great app and a huge help to beginners. But, unfortunately, it lacks options. There is only so many options to choose from and after paying for both the character creation and dungeon Master's tools I can't help but be disappointed. Even after updating the app with the forums content it's not as thorough as I'd like. Not to mention the lack of activity on the forums themselves. I'd like to see some more effort by the creater in adding content from the books, like domains.
I really enjoy this app for what it does. It is clean, fast, smooth, and easy to use (especially after the UI update). I don't particularly care for the Character Manager system (haven't tried the dm tools), but it has a lot of potential. The devs are really cool and very generous people. Would recommend to all those who play
I'd love to use this app as it would be easier than going through the player's handbook to find something. However, one of the first spells I went to look up had errors in it. Chromatic orb damage in this app says 2d8, 120 range, but the player's handbook says 3d8, 90 range. That makes me hesitant to trust the info in this app without double checking in the handbook which kind of defeats the purpose. Edit: developer corrected the error the same day I reported it. Much appreciated!
This is the best resource I've found for DnD. It doesn't seem like there's anything missing! Make sure you upload the additional content (I think the app provides a button to do so) and you'll have all the official stats, spells, and class info, all for free! I bought the Pro DM tools features too. I'll admit, I forget what they are because I never tried them... I think an encounter manager and dice roller, or something. I don't mind because this app offers so much, so I consider it a donation
So, having spent a great deal of time with this app, its outstanding- without a doubt the best reference guide on the Play Store. It has a lot of incredibly useful features, from rules and monster stats to random encounters and name generators. It has everything. They also allow the creation of custom content. Some features, like the DM Tools, require a payment, but its totally worth the small fee. If you like to use your tablet or phone for reference, absolutely get it.
As a reference this is an amazing app. Super easy to download what you need and super easy to make your own stuff online on their website. I would say they need to improve their search a touch, I am not able to easily search for Ritual Spells for example The changes to the character manager have solved every problem that were frustrating to me. If you tired it and gave it up, give it another go! Though ritual spells should be shown as castable even if they are not prepared. Fantastic work!
If I play D&D I tell everyone else to download this. Really helpful in finding stats for races and classes. The only thing I would have to say is that on Android the experience (at least in the past) has been far superior and had more information than on iphones which gives slight hesitation when I recommend the app with worry that they can't find what I can. Overall though, I use it every time I play for something, and this helped me learn a lot more than I ever could have in a year without it
Thanks to the forum downloads this app is amazing! I'd call it a necessity now that FANDOM has removed all the useful information from the wiki. My only complaint is that I would not buy the character manager, it's not much better than a blank piece of paper if I'm being honest, hardly anything automated and some sections aren't even on it. Edit: Oh and a way to separate feats from class and background feats and sort magic items by rarity would be a great addition.
I was kind of disappointed. The layout is all too confusing, and I can't usually find what I'm looking for. The search bar has bad results for what I search, and I couldn't find any results for info on the vale of shadows. It also needs to not have so much separate downloadable content, because all of it would take up most of my memory on my phone.
This app is pretty good. Occasionally though, the page I was looking at goes blank when the app goes into the background. It has most of the content after downloading the additional content but that needs to be updated because it is still missing at least the artificer class and some races.
Seems like it has potential. However it doesn't currently including all base races which was rather frustrating to find out after having paid for the character manager. Race in question is wood elf although I suspect there are others. Thanks for the response. It still strikes me as rather clunky to have to go through that just to add the base classes.
Paid for the ability to use the character sheet and it doesn't even add values correctly... made a Dragonborn druid (wont let me multi class so its totally useless for all my current campaigns) and it only gives a +1 to strength. Wouldn't hurt to be more intuitive too. Edit: Manage Classes does nothing because the keyboard only pops up for MAYBE a second before automatically and immediately moving to adjusting the HP given for a randomly chosen level. You can't change it.
Wonderful idea! The map maker and custom content maker need major updates because they are hard to operate and produce inefficient results. The character maker needs a way to edit the characters content (class, background, race, etc.) just in case. But the idea is great, keep it up!
I have been using the this app for a while now and truly enjoy it's lightweight install, ease of use, and ability to import additional data. I recently paid to unlock the character manager, but none of my characters will save and Sync keeps failing. I've tried reinstalling and rebooting and verifying permissions, but no luck so far. Really sad too, I like the interface of this character manager much more than any others I've used so far.
It's a great companion app for D&D. With the recent release though, I found an annoying little bug. In the Skills tab, the total modifier does not update. In fact, if the skill is non-proficient, it is set at zero. It only works properly if the skill rank is set to zero.
What is implemented is okay so far. The purchase options are definitely not ready for purchase. I expect much more functionality for paying for am upgrade. The character creator has a lot of bugs, lack of options, and typos/errors. You can manually edit things after but that defeats the purpose of the app... I'm keeping this installed and will keep checking the progress. 5/15/19 update: no apparent progress. Also posted on forum and never received a resolution even after emailing directly.
A great app, with amazing and caring developers. Quick and helpful replies to any problems, although they are far and few between. The application itself has all the content I need and enables me to get more than what's on it in base form, and is easy to navigate. They are the ideal developer, full credit where it's deserved!
With my experience the app is useful but it still needs some work. One thing about it is bad and what bothers me right now about it that. what is the point of being able to print out cards and spells and monsters if it can't even fill in enough of the information on the card template automatically for you there needs to be a different card type option to fit in spells and monster stats and abilities with full descriptions otherwise what's the point of it.
"Complete" references seem incomplete - unless I am missing something? For example only one "feat" is in the app, various paths are missing (one example: totem warrior). Note: all the examples of missing stuff in my comment is from the base rule set. It's not some exotic stuff from other books. EDIT: thanks for the fast and kind reply, I indeed missed this option. With this content the app got everything I was looking for: 5/5
