Corporate Addressbook
Unfortunately the Global Address List (GAL) lookup currently available in Android is limited in functionality. It only looks up email addresses and does not return anything more. This could be frustrating when you are trying to use your phone to look up your colleague's phone number or office location.
This application looks up the GAL contact database, and returns ALL data corresponding to the contact that is available on the server. It also allows you to save the contact information retrieved to your phone for easy access.

FAQ
- Why does the app need so many permissions?Once the app looks up a name, there are links next to the phone numbers that allow you to call or send a text to the number. In order to make these links work, the app needs the permissions to make calls and send text messages. Also in order to save the search results to your address book, the app needs to be able to access the accounts on your device and add contacts to the accounts.
- Is this app ad supported or paid?Nopes, the app is completely free (both like beer and speech). There are no ads, and the source code is available on Google Code (http://code.google.com/p/corporateaddressbook/).
- Why are you asking for my credentials? Are you trying to steal my identityUnfortunately there is no way to access your account information that is configured on your device. The information you enter in the app stays on the device. Please feel free to audit the code if you are still worried.
- This doesn't work, how can I report an issue?Please feel free to email me, or report an issue at http://code.google.com/p/corporateaddressbook/issues/list
- Why is the app not available in my language?The developers are, unfortunately, not versed in several languages

Of all the various apps I've seen in the market, this one is simplest, safest and useful one. DOES NOT REQUEST UNWANTED PERMISSIONS, is light weight and very well done. Thanks Vivek... Hope to see more of such utility apps from you... Update: Got a new phone (Huawei Ascend G700) few days ago, if I click on retrieved results, the app crashes. Please Fix this.
Just to use this app you have to add name and password, that's OK but then it ask for your email server which I tried numerous times to add and this app kept refusing it.. Frustrating... Don't bother waisting your time
This is great app. I have been searching for some application to fetch GAL contacts as the in built app in Android 2.1 is not fetching all the details of contact. But this is one stop solution to that problem. Very fast and handy. Definitely a must download.....
It would be nice to scroll through the entire GAL, but at least now I can view full contact info.
Changed me feedback from 1 star to 4 stars. Works fine as it says. With high speed connection these days, it makes sense to add more features.
Not much to say, works better and faster than using contacts search on the device with note information's in return
Why the heck android doesn't do this by default is beyond me... Thank you Sir for extending the functionality of android... You might want to talk to Google and add this functionality to next android version...
Dear developer this app is not working for me since last 3weeks. Upon clicking on the search results, its getting closed abruptly. Pls fix this
Not useful if one doesn't know the exact spelling. Sync functionality soul of also be nice for offline access/getting changes
It'd be greater if I could actually see the profile pics of my colleagues. I can see their pics on the iPhone exchange.
Does not work. Nothing happens after trying to sign in. It just keeps the login form open.
Sudden app closure.. not working once when contact is searched. App stops down suddenly
Searches continually fail. Found that if I go into settings and connect to server, searching returns results as expected.
Coming from a BB that offered integration of this service inside contacts or mail - this is a great work around and was exactly what I was looking for.
App loses connectivity with server, manual re-login helps as a workaround.
Should be included in android, but this app does an adequate job. It's a bit simple in looks and features though...
Its a shame that microsoft outlook for mobile doesn't have this feature
Great app that does what it says. Google needs to buy this and integrate it into the native people app. This so also allows one to really copy a number or email address unlike the native app.
This app does exactly what it advertises cleanly in a simple and elegant way. Google should roll this into their baseline offering. Way to go!
App crashes now when clicking on a result after the latest exchange update for office 365. Please fix
It give me the power of fetching contact details of my company colleagues which was missing in ginger 2.3.6.
Not sure if it's a jb issue or what, running cm10 and after I put my info in it says it's connecting and does nothing, connecting to exchange 2010.
I wish it allows to copy ALL contacts or selected groups to my Google account. Not one-by-one.
I wish M$ will think more about the users on all platforms and less about the old classic caee of everyone-on-PC
Fantastic app. Love the completeness in data. Thanks. If possible, please add the ability to take contacts offline in a separate phone book such that when i delete the app the contacts get deleted too. Don't want to carry that data in my phonebook once I am gone from here .
The application stops after search a contact. The application was working fine untill last week. Now it is crashed.
Does the job very well. Simple interface and great functionality. Was looking for something exactly like this. You'll rarely find people who have the heart to develop something like this for free :-) thanks dev
Unfortunately its not native to my 'People' list so my SMS' are still broke. I can also only login to one domain and I need 2. However it did work just fine, but I won't be using it. Out of date at the time of writing this. Time to do more research on pulling the GAL. Local works...
