CoughDrop AAC

CoughDrop is a simple, modern AAC communication and support tool that empowers individuals and the teams around them. It is a full-featured communication app built for individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Angelman syndrome, Rett syndrome, or other complex communication needs. CoughDrop is flexible and configurable enough to work with the access and comprehension needs of many communicators.
PLEASE NOTE: CoughDrop can be installed without purchasing, but a mycoughdrop.com account is required to log in, and some features such as reporting and logging are only available to paid users after the two-month trial period has ended.

The app includes starter boards for different levels of communication, and boards with large or small buttons can be personalized using the rich symbol set, user-provided images or camera photos, user-recorded audio, speech synthesis, etc.

CoughDrop runs on multiple devices, so you can log in on your tablet, phone and computer and have access to the same communication tools and interface. In addition, users can be linked so parents, therapists and supervisors can access a communicator's boards from their own devices to better facilitate modeling, and to make it easier to modify boards without taking away the communicator's device. The built-in reporting and messaging tools also help the support team have a consistent strategy and know what's working across locations and times.

My child is non verbal autistic, and we were looking at other programs. Once we found coughdrop it was a game changer! It's been easy to set up and easy to use. My child uses it everyday at home, school and when we're out and about. We really couldn't ask for a better experience from the program or the support staff. I highly recommend this!!!

Some days it won't load our boards at all. Which is hell. Some days it crashes, others it won't upload pictures in edit mode. It's also pretty hard to use for younger users. Frustrating

i really love this app, however it's not so good for practical use on my device. i'm 16 and i have nonverbal autism, i use typing and symbols. however i have found that the coughdrop keyboard function is very slow, it takes me minutes to type one word. i also cannot use the settings which turn off "voice at every button press" and "vocalise linked buttons", as these seem to stop any linked buttons from working. my device is quite old and only runs android 4. i am running out of characters sorry

Great for techies. I've been looking for an app that won't cost the world, but offer an easy way to sync between devices. I can make the PECs and boards on my PC and it all syncs to his Amazon fire. The fire is a nightmare for me to configure as the kids stuff is all locked down. The syncing is seamless and just what I wanted.

My son is 5yrs old. He is autistic. He is multimodal, emerging AAC user. He likes his Coughdrop AAC app. It can be set and arranged by motorplan or can set up categorically like Proloquo2go or can be set up like PODD pragmatically organised. I love that it has two months free trial with all premium features. It also has an affordable monthly option as well. Syncing is the best. Coughdrop has good support team. I wish it had more option for inflections like in Proloquo2go.

I've had a great experience with CoughDrop AAC. It's great the way it can be used over different platforms and it syncs with all devices so I never lose what I want to say. I highly recommend this AAC to others. 5 stars to CoughDrop 😊

We're just starting with CoughDrop for my non-speaking 3yo, the ability to model from my phone is great, and it seems very flexible.

Great app, robust and flexible. Love being able to log in on and device and sync changes to other devices using the same account.

"Free" is misleading...you can download the app for free but after 2 months you have to buy a subscription. This information to is only available after you download the app.

I couldn't get through registration. It's not scrollable on my phone so I can't click the Register button (if it even has one)

I recently started going nonverbal when I get really overwhelmed so I figured I would download an app to help me talk and its doing a good job so far

Can't open the terms of use and license agreement link to read it, so I won't know what I'm signing up to. Fix this then I can look at the app.

It wont even let me register. It wont scroll to let me finish signing up.
