INTRODUCTIONWelcome to the first and original dark material UI available for the CyanogenMod 12/12.1/13 Theme Engine. With this theme, you can grasp that Android Material look whilst not blinding your eyes as you enjoy all the eyecandy animations! To regain back the stock Google icons look, try my other theme "dark regression+"!
WHY "DARK MATERIAL"?To understand why this theme doesn't follow Google's traditional "Material Dark" design with dark teal and/or blue grey, I will briefly explain.
This theme wasn't based on Google's Material Style, but was mainly influenced by the "Tinted Status Bar" mod's results, where it completely made the action bar into one fused item. I really liked this design, which made the system more minimal as it had two layers to look at, rather than 3 (Action Bar Primary, Action Bar Primary Dark (status bar darkened color) and the fragment layer (the interacting area)). The fact that I named this theme "Dark Material" over "Material Dark" was because I wanted to depict a dark, physical metamorphic rock
- "slate", and it's color. As the color scheme of this theme is mainly dark (black, grey and white text), I added the word "Dark" in front of my interpretation of "Material" hence the title "Dark Material". Themes that follow Google's Material Dark, should show up as "Material Dark" to ensure consistency (see Google keyboard settings for reference).

Disliking the notification icons, sys images also, I prefer "Dark Regression"s simplistic approach to Pure Black. Bugs: system theme as to be manually applyied with app themer, keyboard theme not applying at all. Did you try writing an email on CM13? Black on black email content we cant read big issue fixed with removing theme with app themer in Gmail.
Black text on black background when writing emails, had to disable it for the Gmail app. Gets barely ever updated to fix bugs
Love the way it looks. But chrome crashes almost every time It is launched, Navigation icons keep changing to default and some in app fonts go complete black. Fix these and You're worth 5 stars
Best black theme out there I just wish I could get my Google search bar to turn black again
Awesome theme. The only thing that bothers me is that in some windows there is a lack of contrast. For example in the review window in the play store
Visual bug in Instagram where all cross posting option are all black. It's impossible to see any button is activated or not. Please fix it. Make Facebook button turn blue when activated or something that easier to know it activated or not
Greeeeting to the team who made it. Just ultimate and gorgeous theme I ever installed on my zuk mobile. One thing is that my icon colors didn't change to dark. Tell how it is done.
I'd love to love this theme, but with Gmail, text messages, and other apps the font color is the same as the background color. I can't see what I'm typing. Shame too, I really liked the theme/icons.
Can't give reviews of apps on play store. The white texts with white background makes it impossible to read & write. Developer should amend it.
It looks great and it is integrated with the whole system almost perfectly! The only flaw is that you can't see the folders in Gmail, names are written in white font color over a white background.
One of the few AMOLED-friendly cm themes. Only problem I have is white on white in text box for landscape keyboard.
Both font and background color are the same. Most apps become useless. Otherwise slick theme. Makes the phone look sharp.
I've been using this theme for ages, but recently there has been an issue with the text being invisible when composing an email in the Gmail app. You have to highlight the text to read it. PLEASE FIX for 5 stars again!
For anyone looking to install this on CM14.1, please note that the CMTE (Theme Engine) is not implemented yet on CM14.1 (soon to be LineageOS). I do hope that devs consider updating when(if) the Theme Engine is implemented. :)
Favorite black theme. I apply just the style, status bar, and nav bar. I like that it looks very stock material, it's clean and not obnoxious like many other dark themes.
I can't see the text I type in apps like watsapp as the color of both background of writing panel and the text is same. Please suggest some way to fix it. Everything else is fine(5 *).
You can't identify for example if shuffle in Spotify is turned on or off.
Hello, I noticed that when composing an email in gmail, the message you are typing out doesn't appear visible with this theme enabled.
Using resurrection remix. Fonts are not applied system wide. Settings app with default ui
New recent bug with the new Google messenger app, can't see the text I'm trying to type.
Some icons are pretty mediocre. Check boxes look like scribbles and completely break style. AMOLED support is great!
Google Calendar isn't themed. Since I have the widget, this is a deal breaker.
I cannot see what I type when I am composing an email in Gmail, so i had to change my theme.
Overall a great theme! The only thing that is not themed was the calling screen's name display. But this theme made me stick to it!
Can't see Notifications, notification background is dark n the font is also dark, so unable to see the notifications.fix it
theres a bug that keeps some text (specifically gmail) black, making it indistinguishable from the black background. if you guys could fix this, i could use this theme again.

Hey guys, been using this for ages. Always worked like a charm. However the past few days gmail updated and i can no longer see what i type into the email body. Subject and to fields are fine, only the body has black text on black background.
