Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) treatment is a type of psychotherapy — or talk therapy — that utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach. It began with efforts to treat borderline personality disorder (also known as Emotional Instability Disorder). DBT has been conceptualized as a treatment that is broadly applicable for individuals who have difficulties regulating emotion. Empirical evidence now supports the use of DBT adapted for eating disorders, substance use disorders, and PTSD.

I'm really disappointed in the advanced experience on the app. I was really enjoying the ease of use with the diary card, so I purchased the subscription. The mindfulness exercises are voiced by an AI text to speech program. This was jarring and not relaxing. It was difficult to focus on the necessary emotions and experiences due to the uncomfortable nature of text to speech programs. When I attempted to review the lesson videos, the app crashed every 20 to 30 seconds. I will not continue my sub

Very impressed with this app!! I have been looking for a DBT app, to help me refresh my skills & that also provides a daily diary card, for over a year. I finally found this one & it has everything I need/want & even more than that! I did purchase the subscription because it has such quality content that it was worth the price in my opinion. I could spend the same amount of money buying a paper workbook and diary card book so I feel like this is the same, if not better content and saves a tree!

It was wonderful, I loved it @ 1st. The only issue was that my therapist had 2 have several ppl using the app 2 b able 2 use the therapist version so I just had 2 email my info n. I paid for the app every month and on March 4 they unsubsidized me from the app and ny app on my phone was disabled. My debit card was up to date and available so as far as I know there was no reason to remove me from the app

This is, by far, the best app I've ever used. It puts the daily DBT cards to shame. The free version is totally and fully rounded. The paid version is slightly better in that it allows some additional customization of the free version and will email your therapist with app progress. The app was recommended to me by my therapist and I LOVE IT!!!!

Such a great app that has tools that helps you take personal responsibility for your well-being! I continue to learn and grow with the daily reflections, seeing patterns as I review my data over time, and have access to wonderful mediations and breathing exercises that are practical and supportive in the moment and as a practice.

Great app, as someone who works in the mental health field I've used this with many of my patients and have had great results. The only turn off for me is the subscription platform, I REFUSE to subscribe to anything, I would much rather pay a single one-time price that's higher then have to deal with subscriptions that I'm likely to forget and continue to get charged for.

I wanted to give this 5 stars SO MUCH. it's a wonderful app that can be so helpful. But it freezes every time i try to do a journal entry and then i have to start over from scratch. when you're already upset and then it does that.... well it defeats the entire purpose of the app. If they can fix that issue i will give it 5 stars for sure.

Editing my comment and increasing the rating: previous issues seem to have been cleared up. It has a lot of options, very clean and easy to use, the explanations for dbt modules and activities are clear and concise.

I can't get into the app, I've emailed support and no word back several times. I was in the app and it worked perfectly but it logged me out and now fb says it doesn't allow this app. I tried Google, says I don't exist. I even tried just using my email, says user doesn't exist, when I try to reset the password says user doesn't exist. I just want a refund.

Brilliant, Some fantastic free content that could really make a difference to somebody's life. I would leave the feedback that a lifetime purchase option should be available as opposed to 6 months access. It does seem a little excessive of a price point.

I love it. Best DBT app ever. Only one thing on the things you do it has running. I don't run I think it should have walking too. And I wish everything was free. I would benefit from other things but I can not afford them.

Hardly any free content and the subscriptions prices are intense. I don't think it's right to charge for basic skills that a person might need to not hurt themselves.

It's helpful, from what I could see without paying, but either make it a lot cheaper or free. I uninstalled it.

Super helpful app, I have adhd and the reminders to do my diary card have been a huge help in making sure I fully participate in my dbt course.

So far so good.... Have only just spent a few hours exploring and checking out the app and have not been using the app for long but so far I'm impressed with level of info, ease of use, layout & functionality of app, to help learn & utilise DBT Skills in daily life (with or without therapist for support!) Pricing is alittle expensive & possibly excludes those who would most benefit & who need it most. If the 6mth fee was 4 a 12mth membership 4 students & unemployed itd be reasonable & affordable.

The app is quite well designed overall. However the video lessons won't start, ever. I've written to them numerous times to receive help, never got an answer so terrible customer support. Expensive & not worth the price.

I highly reccomend this app for anyone wishing to grow personally and learn mental health skills (which we should learn in childhood /school) I hope the creators make this app much more affordable because everyone deserves the right to mental health care, not just those who have higher income.

I received an email describing the app. It sounded perfect for me so I decided to sign up. I tried setting up my account & it keeps saying it's loading. Can't use app. Disappointing.

It's probably a little early to do this but holy moly this is a great app. Can't wait to dig into it more and use it with myself and my students

Kat. B. Dec 26, 2021

Not straight forward on how to use, but once you get its easy. Don't like having paying monthly to send a copy to my therapist... but to other helpful extra bits are nice.

I can't say enough good things about this app. Simple, clean, beautiful user interface. I've synced my data across three generations of phones and it has always restored perfectly, even before I bought the paid version! The free version is already perfect if you're just looking for a simple daily diary. This app is very comprehensive. It even contains meditations. I am going to love it. Still exploring and will report back

I'm finding it gotcha. I agree with the distance card. It would be ideal if we could customize to our best usage model. Mine froze when I tried to add an activity. I had to uninstall to reboot. When my objective is journaling, I'd like to go straight there. Haven't yet gotten that far, despite several attempts. 🤷 The app is sure a great idea! I wish each one of the diary measures was linked to an explanations, resources, etc. List of emotions, and so on.

I've been looking for an app to complete my diary cards. This app has it. You tap on the skills you used then you have a slide bar for your urges, etc. There's a place to enter what skills you tried to use in certain situations and how effective they were. It makes the beginning of the session much easier to remember and you don't have to worry about a paper diary card.

Unless you plan on paying $12 a month, this app is severely limited. Most of the features require a monthly subscription to use, which severely limits its. thearapudic potential. If you're looking for an alternative, I reccomend DBT Travel Guide. It's not quite as interactive, but the features are free. It also has guided meditations & reccomends exercises for emotional crisis based on your mood.

Good information. However, many lessons can load indefinitely, no video plays for the connecting with therapist in settings (effectively stopping any information on this feature), and the app crashes when trying to view lessons like (TIPS). For the price to access, these issues don't support an efficient quality assurance. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app twice now. This hasn't fixed the issue. An update is needed with adjustment to the code.

I like the app and it's really helpful for people who need it. But it's so expensive! Seriously?! LOWER THE FEE! People who need this are in therapy and paying a lot of money, then you want $12 A MONTH to add basic features like uploading my logs even to myself, add more options to log, basic things that should be in the app. I understand having a fee to pay for the development but not this much. And only for the advanced features like auto contacting the therapist or something like that.
