I personally like this app but since the recent update (5th April 2022) the viewport no longer fits the screen. It appears to have shifted up by 20-30 pixels ( or whatever). This makes accessing the menu quite tricky. I'm sure this will be fixed in next update and I'm willing to wait.

decent app version of the website. I paid 7ish dollars to get all the expansions (rhyming, idioms, medical, offline.) I got these expansions because I needed the offline dictionary. however, I tried to use it offline and it said there was an error loading, for something built to be offline. I restored purchases, tried again and it still didn't work. I paid 7 dollars for something it didn't even have. most other things are fine. don't waste your own money trying to get something they don't have

I've used this app for years but ever since the most recent update, it is VERY slow to load. I actually thought it was stuck and closed the app to restart but no improvement. If I wait long enough it loads and functions normally (refresh still slower than previously but still ok). The app launching speed has led me to just look words up in a browser. If I'm in the middle of a project I need better response time, if for no other reason, to manage my adhd!

I've enjoyed the app, it's been useful for me. I also enjoy the daily words. It's been fun seeing themed words around holidays or something else. My only concern is that I purchased premium at least a year ago, if not further back, but now adds are back after I changed phones. I'm using the same account though, how can I get my premium back? Edit: thank you for your response, I've downloaded the premium app which I purchased and it's working great!

Excellent dictionary in its content and format. However, every aspect of its operation is painfully slow on my Galaxy A21. I would find it much, much more useful if it were faster.

App has only offered definitions for half of the words I've searched for, so it's not useful as a companion tool for word games. It does have a nice interface and would be useful for building a vocabulary otherwise.

I downloaded a 💩 ton of dictionary apps from the playstore and I gotta say this one is by far my favorite to use. It's fairly easy to navigate and has way more content to offer than ANY of the others I've used. I'm legit thinking about buying the paid version just because of how helpful this app has been for me. I love the word of the day; they actually use uncommon words you'd want to learn and not simple words you'd likely already know. Love this app, I really can't recommend it enough! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It works really well. As does the website it is built on. The actual interface is cluttered and fussy, which is a disappointment. The new "features" that everyone has been clamouring for (apparently) seem like mere bloat to me.

i purchased the power pack only to find that i can't use the dictionary offline at all. immediately after buying, i tested the search function offline and it seemed to work, albeit missing many words and definitions. a day or so later, i went on a trip with no internet access, activating the offline dictionary. i found? the entire app does not work and displays blank ui. this was a waste of money and i can't seem to get a refund. all i wanted was a decent offline dictionary i am familiar with.

Edit: Thanks for the response. I agree it is an unreasonable expectation to have every single word. Keep doing your best to add all words. I liked the interface so much I paid for the ad free full version as I found it very easy to use when reading postgrad materials. The UI is solid and simple and easy to use as well as the app has some nice features.

Love the simplicity of the app. Very clean and easy to navigate. My only suggestion and may be a deal breaker is not able to copy out the list of favorite words. How many words can I store anyways? Can you at least make it so there's an option to copy to clipboard the entire list of favorite words as text? I want to back them up as I learn, it's a long journey to be well spoken. Thanks!

This app used to be available offline for free but now I'm being forced to pay for that feature which I'm not doing. As well as the keyboard doesn't automatically pop up like it used to, when I try to type a word. So I'm forced to tap the search area then tap again in the same search area right after. How annoying. This app used to be much better in the beginning!

I have bought the power pack for this app, which includes everything, however I can't get the offline mode to work. I've re-downloaded and it still doesn't show any definitions. Whenever I try to look up a word, it never loads up anything. I would give this app a 5 star if the offline mode was functioning properly. Other than that, the app is convenient for its purpose.

This app is handy and invaluable to me, not only because I love learning new words and knowing their meanings, but also when writing a text and am unsure of the spelling, it is easy to refer to.

Way too many ads. They have rendered this app useless. It is too slow to load and the ads are overwhelming. This use to be my go to app. Time to find another.

I like the option of hearing the pronunciation for the words. I also like the quizzes and games to make you learn more words. What I don't like is how busy the app is. There are too many features coming at you at the same thing. Sometimes, simplicity works too 👍

I have been using dictionary app since past 5-6 years and the experience is amazing throughout the journey. it's easy to use and no advertising purchase great add-on

A fine enough dictionary app but I downloaded it so that I could use it for the daily crosswords and the functionality for that is trash. It seems to save all of the individual letters you put in so that when you backspace a letter, it instead replaces it with the last letter you used, then the next one and the next one and so on until you get to the very first letter. I don't know if it's a problem with my phone or the app itself but I don't get much use out of it.

I gave this a 1 star because I couldn't give it less. I originally bought the app to utilize the function of the words being used in a sentence. And once I updated, I now have to pay for this as a new feature where previously it was a part of the premium membership. Essentially I payed for this premium app that comes with none of the previous premium features. So I payed for the free version of this app. And I emailed them before and all they did was give me a superfluous response. How sway 🙃

This app allows you to look up definitions just as one would expect. It could be made more responsive by allowing the user to look up definitions directly instead of having to go through the word of the day page/widget - if the app isn't already open - but its better than the Merriam-Webster app which exhibits significant lag when opening and so kudos to this app for its responsiveness in comparison to that one.

Voice search still not working for me, even after a few years, many clear data and several uninstall and install. I'm just going to uninstall.

All of the pop-up ads that can not be closed for several seconds are extremely disruptive and seem geared towards towards forcing a paid subscription.

It is so difficult or better said, to give a app/developer a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating so typically a 4 is best but in this case when it comes to the many digital dictionaries I've encountered over the years. This one deserves more than a 5 star rating before I upgraded to a premium. I just wish I could figure out how to on android how-to automatically use it for all my required apps when wanting to look up a word or phrase thesaurus etc... other than that . . . money well spent. It's my go-to dictionary.

It's an awesome app to learn new words and pronunciations. Also to check meaning of words. But, it will be ideal if it can show pictures of certain words where and when necessary. Like the word for today "bucchero" , I'm just hearing it for first time. I learnt how to pronounce it properly and also read its meaning, but I would have loved to see how it looks like or what it's like in picture. Then I will fully understand it. Thank you.

It used to allow you to back out of the searched word/definitions & back to whatever you were in when you clicked to look the word up (web page, Facebook, email, Instagram...) Now it just goes between the definition you were on & an ad, go back again, same thing, same page then another ad. It never lets you back to what you were doing so you have to close out & hope you can find the page or post you were on before!

Very good dictionary with words optimized and complete. One major challenge is that it won't open without internet even when in offline paid version. Fix this. Otherwise, it's a five star for me.

Very very slow response by this app it seems like this app is lagging, thank you for responding on my feedback but guys it's still lagging, need to fix it as soon as possible, everybody in thier reviews share some kind of related problem with this app, if you look into other reviews, they are quite related
