Not quite as good in it's physics as Prime Dice was, in it's prime, but customizing max die rolls and 1s makes up for it's shortcomings. I'm doing 3.5, and just got this, so I hope I can figure out how to sometimes make a custom sound for a range of numbers, like 18-20, for my critical hits, instead of just the max. 4* instead of 3 bc of the custom sounds!!!!
It works and does everything it sets out to do, something that would be nice to add a random number generator that you can set the range of as well as the ability to still interact with five while you have quicklock on, but yeah I have the pro version and I'm going to test it on a multi-device set up, because I like to have my phone and then a old beat up spare for the party to use for easy dice rolling, but rn it is needing repairs so that might be a bit
Overall good. Bought the upgrade to allow for keeping/discarding and rerolling. There are two things that bug me. 1. Sometimes the dice lock up and it won't allow me to reroll the dice by shaking the device, even though that's a setting. 2. Sometimes the dice land cocked and lock up - tilting or trying to drag a die doesn't do anything. I would prefer that all dice either land flat or be draggable to flat. Perhaps a solution would be smaller dice?
Very entertaining and useful, however it feels like there are some customization options that are missing that would be very nice. Such as setting dice texture per die in presets As well as more modifiers for rolling. I read another review asking for dice subtraction and that would be a great feature to add more depth. Multicolor dice would also be fun for certain textures. It would also be nice to choose to pop any kind of dice other than just the type rolled.
It looks very promising. The d6 is not a true die like a normal dotted 6 sided die as the rule of thumb is that opposite sides must add up to 7. So far only 1 and 6 is opposed. Rest are arbitrarily assigned. Edit: Thanks for the reply. I have upgraded to 5 stars. It is well worthwhile to install the app
Not a bad roller, but the dice have an irritating tendency to wind up behind the translucent controls at the top and bottom of the screen (i.e., the preset #1, et al), making the result hard to read. Really wish there were a way to constrain the area available to the dice and avoid this.
A highly customisable app. One thing can't find is an option to drop the lowest roll in a group of dice, e.g. roll 4d6 and drop the lowest single die from the total. This is good for generating slightly higher-than-average stats. An option to drop the highest die would also be useful. Have I missed something in the Help?
4☆ Great app needs minor changes. Absolutely wonderful physics simulation for dice rolling. No access to dice? No problem. However, as much as I'd like to rate this 5☆, I have to remove 1☆ due to how clunky the interface can be at times. My suggestions: 1. Change the modifier selection from a scrolling input to a direct numerical input. 2. Remove unused dice presets from the interface, deleting all presets should do this by default. 3. Add removing dice result history on command.
HALLOOOAH O DEVELOPERS!...Thank you for your work on this app. I'm recommending it to coplayers as we shift to roleplaying online. I have noted one problem that has continued since I first installed DnDice months ago --- when rolling dice sometimes the rolling sound cuts out. This can last a while then the sound will return, sometimes mid-roll. Is there something I can do to avoid this?
Functions very nicely, but they should have worried more about practicality than visual effects. Don't know if it's only for pro, but you cannot set up a roll to display advantage / disadvantage results. Since this is a fundamental mechanic of DnD, it would be nice to have.
I really like how this animates the roll of the dice. You should consider adding the magic 8 ball faces as a selection as it's really a 20 sided die just that it's in inky water inside a black ball and rises to a window. Should work just fine as a dice on a surface but you could also have it in say an inky pool or just a generic or crystal ball or just leave it as a 20 sided die to avoid copyright infringements.
Hehe, roll dice. Go click clack. As far as I can tell, these dice (and other objects) are pretty much fair. It seems to be a physics sim somehow, but I'm not sure if this app would be accepted in any official games. For casual application, it works great.
A bit glitchy, but works decently well. Probably the best app for truly random dice rolls. It would be nice if you could do custom colors for the dice numbers, or if there was a swirl design where you could pick multiple colors.
excellent! it does everything I need for a game especially when I can't have physical dice along with me. I play mostly Solitaire Pencil and Paper RPGs and Tabletop Skirmish games. this is perfect for those situations (e.g. -games like 4 Against Darkness) makes an already portable game even more so. ill upgrade to the pro version sometime.
Ok the settings on this don't follow what I see roll ok but when I put settings to total of roll Say 5 D8 and it is calling each a success and it's a not adding up all numbers to count 5 - 40 as a score so fix that will be worth the space it occupies on my phone! ☠️ And trying to change the surface of the dice roll Matt changed my phone wallpaper! Sort that out as well! 🤔
You have the "option" to set a background against the dice. Doesnt work. Says save failed. The dice also just aren't that pleasant to look at. The app works aside from that. My gripes are purely aesthetic.
The best virtual dice app on the market BY FAR (and I've used them all). I bought the pro version so I could build custom dice and after the generous, personal attention of the developer was able to get exactly the result I wanted. Great for the GM or tabletop gamer on the go. Perfect for the game designer or creative looking to play with original dice concepts. A well-deserved 5 stars.
The best currently available dice roller app in the play store. I've been using it since quite a while and can assure you it's worth your time. Visuals are important, and the sight of a d20 balancing on a 1, and then falling onto 19 provides your RPG session with much needed drama. Quick command typing such as "repeat 2(2d20+10>=13) would be a great cherry on top of this cake, but hey, apart form the 970 model of Volvo few things are perfect
I'm still having trouble changing the background to a custom image. I've checked the permissions and the app has authorization to storage and camera, bothe the phone and app are up to date yet it still says "save failed" whenever I attempt to pick a saved image. Any help?
While a bit complicated in some aspects, it's a vast customizable option to have, especially to save money instead of buying 100's of dice. Great app to have just in case.
great app. it'd be nice to be able to alter the roll field.. having die roll under the bottom or top buttons/options is CRAZY ANNOYING especially when you need to lock die in order to reroll others. change that and this app would be perfection! I'd buy it.
Oh I love this app. Gravity for dice, shake feature, saved sets, etc. Yet not worth $10 us to unlock a mere 10 other sets maybe 4-5 as most regular players own dice minus like d30 (I call it the pregnancy die) an IRL set of dice cost me 8-15 usd yet all the all non metallic solid which I don't care for I could see 10 for self color options, transperant dice, and metallics which I like. I endorse the free until these are met.
Solid and useful app. I upgraded to pro, but was disappointed to find that I can't get it to subtract a die from a roll - it can't parse a custom roll such as "1d20-1d4". Still, a great dice app!
This app is great! Dice have many custom color, size, and physics options. Custom backgrounds, custom presets for dice rolls, can add modifiers, no annoying ads. These dice roll true as well; no need to salt test these bad boys ;)
I've really enjoyed having this. One feature I would suggest for the paid version is the ability to create multiple characters. (Basically, a way to collect multiple presets.) I play in more than one campaign at a time, and redoing all the presets for additional characters is a bit time consuming. For now I use the digital dice for one campaign and analog dice for the others. With the ability to set up multiple characters, I could use DnDice for all. :)
