The amount of ads is unbelivable. The app turns off from time to time, so you have to open it and switch in the settings a few times to make it work, but it shows an ad literally after every tap on the screen, this is infuriating. The functionality is okay, but the amount of ads is just insane, its really maddening having to watch an ad every time you go to options screen or swipe from equalizer to "effects" tab.
When it comes to streaming music from my phone, this app is a game changer for me. Works flawlessly with Pandora! There several ads but they only occur when you are interacting with the app; typical for any freemium offering and they are more than reasonable.
trash, wouldn't let me try without pushing the subscription and ads in your face. uninstalled I never got to try it because confronted by signing up to free trial and ads preventing me from even looking at the interface.. sorry
Too many ads in the free trails, can't really test if it's good. And $Aus15.99 ($US11.15) per WEEK! sounds way way too expensive. Uninstalled straight away
Works nice, wanted to pay for no ads.. 30€ A MONTH WHAT THE F****? Who came up with this prices? I can get netflix, spotify and something else for this. Im willing to pay some amount for no ads (1-5€, 1 time payment, not monthly) and I dont need any support. Ads are only when changing settings so I hope they wont get annoying, if so, ill just change apps.
I use this because it is the only eq i have found that works with Pandora. The eq is minimal. Should be at least 10 band. As with ANY equalizer, you must be judicious in boosting frequencies to avoid distortion when you also use the volume boost. It occasionally gets the boot by the OS in low memory situations. Turning the status bar icon ON helps to minimize this. But it only takes an ON/OFF toggle to bring it back to active state, so it's not that big a deal. Use "global" mode LG-V20, LG-G8
Developer is greedy I've already paid for using this app but asking 13.99 weekly for the ads to go away is someone who scams I wish Google Play store would stop receiving these apps like this if they're just wanting money
insistent trigger about a review. eq seems to work well. lots of ads on the free version but if it keeps working and it's free... might live with it.
It's alright but 9$ a damn week. I don't like it that much. I've tried about every one that's free or pay . I can tweek a free one sound just as good or better!!!!!!¡
Lower your premium subscription to $20 per month and I will subscribe to it. $15 per week is a lot of money where I live, I do not live in USA.
Disconnects after every 10 or 15 seconds and reconnects/ gets responsive after a pause/play. This is happening just after updating the app, kindly fix this bug
Does what it's supposed to plus a few extras. One star down because it takes about half a second for the equalizer to kick in each and every song. My phone's lowest volume is still quite high sometimes, so I made a profile that's very quiet. Unfortunately falling asleep with it is still impossible, because the first half second is without the EQ. I'm not sure if that's something the devs can affect, if it's not, then I'll edit the rating to 5/5
Came back to it. It's still a great app. [[[Update, August 29, 2021: Nope. I am done with this app. I HATE "ransom ads". For a while everything is sounding great. Then your volume drops and you lose your EQ preferences. Now you have to unlock your phone screen to tap EQ FX. It then plays an ad that you're forced to watch in it's entirety before you can opt out. Then your levels are given back. Sometimes not, because another ad pops up right after that one. You owe me a star.]]]
I had this app on my last phone for 2 years, and removed it when I switched phones in late 2019. It was the best sound booster & equalizer anywhere on Play Store. Noone was touching it. It had tons of features, was easy to use, and sound was never distorted. Oh, and back then there were no ads and most features were free. To go from the best, to the rest...what were they thinking?
After many years of trial and randomly selecting audio applications that are subpar, at best, I happened upon Equalizer FX in the Play Store about four years ago. Throughout this time, I've had six or seven different phones, and this application has improved the sound quality of each of them. I continue to turn to Equalizer FX for the Motorola phone I now use, and it helps tremendously. Thank you for creating this application and continuing to update it in a timely manner.
The app is great. It has a preset for literally any genre and the sound actually changes when you change the preset. The bass gets amplified very well. There is only one thing I don't like, it could just be my phone, but after a certain point the volume doesn't get louder even if it's at 100% loudness the volume will be the same even if the sound is at 70%. If this was fixed then the app would be absolutely perfect
I really liked this app, was even going to purchase it when it stopped being free. Then it started to play a video ad - while I was listening to music in the middle of my workout, when concentration kinda matters. Probably the most arrogant ad I have ever faced. Sorry I don't like being pushed into buying something, I'll check out the other options. There's plenty.
I'm not sure if this review will be read by the developers, but I'd like to offer my feedback in hopes for future updates. I love this app and I'd even be willing to pay to remove the ads (not sure if I already can or not.) It's not a perfect equalizer app. I wish it were optimized to only use battery in the background when you're playing music. I'm always getting a notification that Equalizer FX is using battery in the background. My only other complaint is that it's a 5-band equalizer. 2-7 more bands would be nice. Other than those two things I love it and have for a while now
Recently buy a pair of earbuds which not meet my expectation. The treble is to high but not crystal clear, the mid is a bit low, and the bass is too low for me as if you are hearing the drummer playing drums to far from the stage. This apps alow me to reach my expectation though so it's all good. However, if the apps can be updated so that there is no lag during the play of music in spotify (equalizer kicked in late when you clicked to a song and starts playing the music), I'll be 5 stars.
The app now shows ads whenever you adjust the settings. It didn't before the July 1 update. "No Ads" costs $1/month. Other than that, I've liked the app. Simple design, easy to use, and user presets work well. EQ seems to be passive: it 'boosts by reducing volume on other frequencies. Stays open in the background though, even after closing...probably because it can be used with most apps, including YouTube. Need to use "Force Off" via system settings.
App itself it decent. I'd rather 10 band eq, but this does a decent job overall for a 5 band. The 3 effects, bass boost, vol boost, virtualizer are all better than fair. The problem I have is with the presets. They're good and plentiful but, the list often just disappears leaving me stuck with whatever I chose last. I haven't found a reliable method to get it to repopulate either. Frustrating...
Works only for certain apps (Spotify, Google Play Music) but not for others (Soundcloud, Amazon Music) .The bass boost is good and the only feature I found worthwhile. Virtualization and loudness tend to distort the output and are better left off. The equalizer simply has too few bands to be useful. While active, the app displays a notification but this can't be interacted with (like quick on/off), only tapped to open the app. This is poor given the notification features in recent Android versions. There is one widget which shows which effects are enabled but they can't be toggled individually. For being a merely informative widget, it's taking up too much space (3x1 cells).
Minimal permissions required, layout is simple. For those of you new to mixing, here's a simple test of an EQ: zero out all the EQ bands except the middle one. Put that one all the way up. There should be no bass but vocals should loud--the middle band its the most powerful sound changer, ideal for poorly recorded podcasts. Bass is to the left and treble to the right. Generally speaking, a V-shaped EQ should satisfy most ears. Be careful, you can blowout headphones if volume + EQ set too high.
This app is absolutely amazing. There's so much besides just loudness that you can adjust for better experience in your phone. I recommend, 10/10. You don't have to pay for anything, and it works sooo well. Lately, my airpods on my Motorola g7 power have been super quiet, even when the volume was at Mac. I could not find a solution because I didn't have an equalizer setting in my settings, and this was the perfect solution.
Useful app with minor issues. I use Equalizer FX to turn down higher frequencies when I have a headache or I'm very tired, and sometimes so I can hear quiet video's better by boosting prominent frequencies. This works great and it's easy to do, but it has two issues. A) When the app is enabled a faint beep can be heard when sound-producing apps are opened (even when not producing sound.) B) The master volume is adjusted automatically with certain settings. I'd prefer controlling it myself.
Thank you, a basic equalizer allows me get the most out of all my sound systems. Cars, home theatres, computers, headphones and my portable devices. All have been fine tuned with its own custom presets. I get improved sound (fat bass) wherever I go and have been using this app for a few years now. I haven't had many issues besides some minor crashes. Ads are barely noticable too so for what it is, you guys get top marks from me. Cheers
This app has the only volume booster on the app store that doesn't completely destroy sound with distortion. Also the only EQ that's tall enough to operate comfortably. Huge props to the dev for putting software that actually sounds decent in this EQ app. However there is a bug where the profiles keep disappearing and reappearing whenever they feel like it. Very annoying.
