I have had my Sony STRDA2800ES for a about 5 years. This app always worked, until about a year ago. I have not been able to get it going again. I am interested in whether any of you are still able to use it. I have tried contacting the developera for help, but received no response. I have tried contacting Sony technical support. They had never even heard of the app 🤦🏾♂️. It's an otherwise great app to have. I would rate it a 4 star at least, if I could get it working again.
I bought an STR-DN1050 specifically because it had this remote control app. Worked for three years, then Sony updated tha app and excluded my receiver from it. No more remote app. No support on tbis issue, No announcement that they were discontinuing the remote app for my receiver. Aside from the fact that my DN1050 has been one of the flakiest products I've ever owned with random issues requiring a power reset. I will never buy another Sony product ever again.
I really liked this using this app with my STR-DA5700ES and STR-DA5800ES receivers, but with the recent update of Android to version 10, the menu function in the app no longer works, severely limiting it's usefulness. I wish Sony would update and maintain this app for the newer versions of Android.
Freaking awesome! Since I have HDMI cables running to multiple rooms/tvs/projectors it was always difficult to adjust receiver settings. Now I don't have to point and shoot a remote around the corner. Sony, you've won my heart over again.
Allows you to change source and volume only. Too limited to be of any use. No user guide that I could find.
Sometimes these reviews are just too much. People are going to give it one star because they are too lazy to read. Like your innability to read the description is Sony's fault. Last update was in 2014 so the writing reviews since then only shows how lazy and self-entitled they are, (probably democrats). If you read the description, you will see that this app only supports 4 a/v recievers that Sony makes, and ot even tells you what those 4 a/v recievers are, thank you for playing though.
This app is out of date and should be removed. Use Sony Music Center instead.
Trash app, does not work. STR-DN1080. Why don't you bother to support your products, Sony? Regret not buying another Yamaha.

Wrong app probably. You're probably looking for Sony's "SongPal" app.

This app is a major disgrace to the supposedly reputable Sony Corporation. One would expect that, having spent about $700.00 on the STR-ZA810ES receiver, the app would be compatible with it -- no such luck! Sony does not care about added value and convenience for the customer. I have installed the unit in one room to connect to a projector in another room. Imagine the frustration I'm having while trying to configure the speakers as well as all the other set-up options such as WiFi. HORRIBLE!
