Heartbroken. The app is great, but if you pay for the premium it's attached to your device and not the account. This was fine until my last cell phone became an epilepsy hazard in the middle of grocery shopping and had to be replaced. I lost all of my characters because there was no way to back it up, and I can't use the character creator to level up unless I pay for it again. Which I am hesitant to do unless it can start backing up to my Google account. I would absolutely pay more for that.
Would be better if there was a way to show in detail what each race and class did without completing a character just to see those details. Would also be nice if it was able to show what spells you could learn as whatever class you are at that level. Would be better than going back and forth in apps, that gets annoying and jumbled after a while.
I love this app. It's so easy and intuitive to use, and it makes character creation very quick and easy. However, there are some caveats. Firstly, the descriptions provided in the app are usually paraphrased, which can cause confusion (especially if they change over time). Second, if you close the app while leveling up, you're essentially screwed. Thirdly, there's a way to import custom data, but no instructions on how to create it. As I said, I love this app, but there's still work to be done
The app is great, simple and easy to use. I only have two issues: 1, it only includes feature descriptions, but no feature names. It's much easier to just say, "Do you have Dark Vision?" than to describe the entire feature to your players. 2, The import/export feature could be much more user friendly, OR the app could give you instructions on how to use it. Other than those 2 things, it's very convenient for character building and character sheet navigation.
Pretty easy to use and the layout is quite nice. Simple and effective app to make character sheets. Comes with the very occasional fault here and there but mostly pretty perfect. However I'd like to see the spells option more fleshed out, give us the list to choose from, and tell us the descriptions of them etc. That would be nice. Other than that great app
It's a great character sheet to have but the reason why I placed 4/5 is due to a certain amount of things. The first is spelling errors that occur when leveling up while this is a minor detail, it's still annoying to fix. The second is the lack of races that have been used such as Verdans, Locathahs, and Grung to name a few.
As someone who only dnd one time but want to make more characters without the DM to help, this was a huge time saver! The nikpick is that if you use the roll for the character stats but want to change it, you can't reroll but add or subtract the numbers instead (but that just my preference). Also having the backgrounds info already available via drop-down boxes while the last is blank (to typed your own info) would saved more time aswell!
I honestly feel this game deserves a 5☆ review. I have been using it for literally years, the UI is intuitive, clean, and fast. The only thing that I feel this app desperately needs, and what's holding my review at 4☆, is a way to organize the characters you've made. Whether it's alphabetical or categorical, I don't care. Just any simple way to organize... please.
This is a great way to make characters quickly and easily. It doesn't overwhelm new players with too much information and the only gripe I have is the sheer number of times an ability is only explained with (see rules) I think it would be perfect with only the addition of a note telling you which book you can find the rules text not included in this app in.
I absolutely love it. I use this for all of my dnd needs and the extremely minimal ads never get in the way. This let's me add all the homebrew stuff I want and it always seems to be updated right when each book comes out so I never need to manually add the content. I ended up paying the $2.99 for the ability to auto-level and it's been extremely useful, Google even gave me a deal so I really only ended up paying $0.99 for it all but I would have gladly paid more.
A must have for any D&D player and very useful for a DM too. A little tip, pay the 4 bucks, it's worth it. My friends on apple products have had issues where it wont save after a level up or something but on android it works great. Some minor glitches where you will level up and it will add things from other subclasses or mess up your HP but it's still way better than an analog character sheet. Also some of the ability descriptions can be a little low quality and leave out important details.
I love this app, even if you don't pay for premium it's still a very great option. Streamlined and fun character creation that does the less fun stuff for you. Only thing I'd like to see added is a way to add spells to your character within the app, you can type them into the spell slots manually, but I would make things easier to scroll through a class list. This app has been amazing to use, and has been essential in all of my games. However, I can only give it four stars because of a new issue I've found. Recently, I started playing a Wizard who was allowed access to Blackstaff Tower, and learned Every First and Second level spell on the Wizard's spell list. Unfortunately, when I began writing down all of them, I discovered each Spell Level for a mage can only have 25 spells listed, when there are over 40 spells in each level on the Wizard's spell list. Long story short, I need more room.
It'd an amazing app! Honestly better then dnd beyond as they don't charge you an arm and a leg for the content that makes dnd so much fun. My only suggestions for it would be roll 20 integration for when you need a character on that site and a way to organize your characters from the list, either by name or class or something so I don't have to scroll around for the 20 something characters I've already made on this app
Works amazing, it makes life alot easier for all the small things it like flipping through pages looking for one character detail, and pretty much everything else. I have literally 1 small things I wish they would add; the ability to display multiple special resources at once like ki points or lay on hands healing pool
It's been my go-to 5e app for years now. Everyone in my group uses it. It makes character creation easier and quicker than ever It has an easy to use transfer feature for when you get a new phone Seriously, it's actually fun to just fool around with it and try out different character builds.
I love this app, but recently I've been experiencing an issue. Apparently none of my characters were made with the "character wizard," so I cannot level them up. Even my older characters, who I've already leveled up, can't level up more because of this. This is really inconvenient, so if I could have some feedback that would be great. Still, the app is usually very helpful as I do not have a working printer that can print character sheets. EDIT: I have accidentally fixed the issue somehow.
It's AWESOME. I recommend this app wholeheartedly I would like to propose some improvements to make it even better: 1. The resources (on the offensive page) should be all visible always (will be so much easier to use them). 2. There should be a place where I can put my Passive Perception and other stuff like physical stats (age, height, weight, eyes, skin, hair). 3. I would like to rearrange all my characters from the list (I can only select or delete them from there
Overall, a bit basic, but if you're looking for an easy way to build characters quickly and without a huge, heavy, resource intensive app, this one is it. Spells and the spellcasting list is little more than just a list of whatever you write into it, so that part is only marginally useful if you don't already have a list of spell effects on you.
good app, includes nearly every available option for extremely varied creation. The only problems I have with it are there doesn't seem to be any description of what options you're picking, so if you're not familiar with them or have access to a wiki, you won't know what does what. Also there's no spell list in the app, and you have to write them in yourself, but other apps can supplement that. Overall good.
Best character sheet I've ever used. Only a few requests: more options for backgrounds, there's a lot there but still many missing; add the name of abilities in front of their descriptions, makes it easier to know what they are; and lastly, let characters have multiple types of movement, right now there are several options but you can only have one at a time. Otherwise, awesome
Very intuitive app. the pro version is very reasonably priced, though even in the free version the ads are unobtrusive. I like that a lot of the leveling is automatic, and the feats section has footnote reminders. Everything is just very well put together. If I could complain about one thing, I'm not a huge fan of the color scheme. It feels kind of "toy"-ish, and makes me miss the official paper character sheets. Some of the races are missing as well.
Generally, really good. Not built for multi-classing, and I've had issues with it resetting new characters. Thankfully none of them were in use, so it didn't really matter. But that still makes me a little nervous about my active character. But I've been using it for.... 8 months I think, and I'm mostly happy with it. There are some small tweaks that would make it perfect, but I still definitely prefer this over paper.
Fantastic app! The only thing I would say is some of their wording is a little off. I'm not sure if it's too avoid copyright laws or what, but occasionally the preloaded text can be a little hard to translate to what the actual mechanic is. However, you can edit and and all the text, so you could just copy and paste it Overall I love this app and it makes creating a quick character super easy!
Very excellent app, easy to use, especially in high mortality campaigns. Import, export feature is great for swapping devices in case I forgot to charge. It auto calculates everything, it caught a few mistakes I made when I used pen and paper, had to go over my character with the DM, and the app was correct. Try the trial, you'll buy the full version.
