Update: the developer responded to emails and has indicated that there is an issue with Android users connecting to the military sonar device. A fix is expected in roughly 2 weeks. Original: The app won't connect to the finder on Android phones. When you select the sonar button it never gives the option to pair to the sonar. You have two options, pro or dir3d but no military. Did the military one get phased out? I connect using an iPhone but not the Android.
Only connects for 10-20 min then disconnects.and then trying to reconnect it takes about another 10 min for it to work right. Full charge on the fishhunter too. Edited: for some odd reason, I have to turn my phone to "airplane mode" for this to work 100% of the time. Can you include that in your directions? Also- if your fishing 10 ft of water and the flasher is showing more orange, click on the 33ft again. It resets it.
Change the app so you don't need to be signed in to use your fishhunter or at least so you don't need wifi internet to sign in to your account. When the app messes up and reverts to the login screen you're in the field and don't have wifi internet which keeps you from signing in and using your equipment. This is extremely frustrating. Update: To clarify, I'm not signing out by choice, the app will sometimes randomly sign me out.
I downloaded the app and everything works except any of the demo modes. Works on IOS (ipod). Checked all permissions and all are open. Haven't charged or used the Fish hunter 3d yet but demo mode is no good for Samsung 5 neo. If it doesn't work with this phone I will have to return it and order Deeper Pro. However it works just fine on my daughters ipod. As requested I am using android 7.0. If you can iron out this bug for me I will gladly give you a great star rating. I think the app is great otherwise. I have updated my phone and now the app still does not fully function. Screen stays black in demo mode and then a notification comes up that Fish hunter app is not responding.
I never thought I would be able to afford sonar but lawrence has made that possible. I'm a bank fisherman and there's not alot of technology to give us guys an edge. I knew that if I could have the same advantage as the professional anglers I could Certainly catch more and bigger fish, well the lawrence pro allows you to do just that! It's very easy to install. And the on phone app makes using the sonar very easy-going. It really does help you catch more fish!
No problem connecting to it using s7 or s8 active. Works good overall. only problem i have is that the screen scroll rate gets a bit Choppy and not a smooth flowing sonar. not sure if thats the app or the sonar ping rate itself but watching this right next to a Deeper sonar screen makes it seem like dial-up internet vs 100mbps
While the sonar seems to work well and be accurate, the app is buggy and cumbersome when used on the water. I constantly get the 'can not get map authorization' error, so the mapping features I bought the sonar for won't work. I'll update if I get feedback from the developer.
Works fine on a cell phone. Will not connect to a tablet. Connected at home just fine. Spent 3 hours on the ice trying to get It to connect with no luck. Tried at home again. No luck. Ive turned off every other device. Reinstalled. Started new account. It will not connect. Wifi shows its connected, green light on, app says please connet to wifi.
I love this fish finder, I predominantly use it for ice fishing. Works excellent...... When it's working lol. I seem to have alot of disconnect issues after prolonged use? I have it plugged into an external battery source, so it's not that. Too cold possibly? Either way it's handy when it's working.
Big issue is that you have to log in before using the sonar. you can not log in without a land wifi signal therefore if you don't have the app open and past the log in screen before you get out on the water you will be unable to use your sonar. The sonar screens are quite good but if you can't get last the log in screen the app is worthless.
App is fine if you don't need to reset your pw and are fishing from a pond in the middle of town. Otherwise... it won't let me reset password, but won't let me start a new account with my email address. Won't let you login without cell connection - hellllooooo, this a FISHING APP IDIOTS! I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS!!!
App is extremely disappointing, needs to be updated. It doesn't even have the menu options that the instruction manual refers to. Great idea and would be amazingly helpful if it worked properly
I use the fishhunter primarily for ice fishing. Works great! Only issue is with the min depth in ice fishing mode. I fish for splake in under 15 ft, usually 8-12 ft. The min depth on app is 33 feet meaning less than 1/4 of the flasher is used. It's very hard to see any marks plus my lure in such a small area on flasher wheel. I would give 5 star if next update would make min depth 15 feet or an auto depth like in standard fishing view.
The bathymetric maps are expired so they don't show. The GPS also is unreliable and jumps all over when making a map. Constantly having to disconnect wifi and reconnect the device.
Can be buggy at times. Now hii come to find that it doesn't work on my new phone. Google pixel 3. I have had to resort to bringing another device with me to use my finder. Even then, sometimes my finder will conk out and show 0 depth, and I have to give it more power just to get it to read.
great idea ,if only the sonar unit worked for more than 4 months . emailed tech support over a month ago and have not heard back from them. i have purchased 3 units in total (1 base model and 2 of the pro units ) and I'm not going to continue to use the products.
The sonar disconnects frequently, the biggest problem I have is I had to reinstall app, now I cannot sign in, which you need to do in order to use it. So I can't use because I can't sign in. My ibobber is getting more use than the fish hunter.
Very easy to use and set up. Great for kayak fishing as well as on the lake. I use it to find brush piles in the boat dock stalls
It won't let me login, login with Facebook, or create a new account. I just errors. *UPDATE* I can login with my iPhone (work phone), but not my Galaxy S8 (personal phone). So frustrating!!!!!!
Great product this was very cool casting over a brush pile and marking the fish and being able to catch them! makes easy work finding out which piles have fish on them while anchored without spooking the fish
Became unstable and unreliable: After it was changed to Lawrence app and updates the app often fails to connect my Fish Hunter 3D unit. I cannot figure out why.
I downloaded this app after I purchased the Lowrance Fish Hunter 3D. I absolutely love it! This is a great way to see fish if you dont have a boat or you want to cast it out by a dock, rocks, etc
App hangs, doesn't stay charged long. And the dependency to an account is poor design. I should be able to use this without an account. Won't recommend.
The app connected right away for me. I had to change my phone's wifi network to connect to the fishunter 3D. After figuring that out then connecting was seamless. I fished mostly under 10ft of water and the depth seemed accurate and the sonar screen updated consistently. When I was farther than about 25' from the sonar, the screen would start to lag or skip, so I assumed that was the max range. Overall, I was happy with it for my needs. It will not be replacing my other units on my boat but it was fun to use while fishing from shore.
