Foscam IP Cam Viewer by OWLR

Works great, from setup to use (if you're having trouble, first make sure the cam is connected to your WiFi and working by loading its web interface on PC - WiFi cams are just hinky by nature.) Caveat: does not give the full suite of config settings as the brand app. Pros: does not bombard me with popup ads for other cams like the brand app; allows you to control the external access instead of 'just trusting 'the cloud™️'.

The app was working fine until I discovered that when adding a camera it would remove another. Can't seem to get past 2 cameras. I did have 3 at one time. I will say that the app audio is nice and clean and picture is clear. It's very easy to operate except for the add camera quirk. I deleated the app and re installed it. Same problem. I also will say I like some of the improvements in the new version.

Connects easily and even has a way of checking the external viewing, outside of your personal wifi connection. Update: At first, everything worked great but then something happened and now it takes forever to load and is feed is extremely slow. The speaker was working at first but then it stopped working.

When I first tried to login I was having trouble..my camera was not being recognized on my internet. I tried troubleshooting to no avail. It turned out the extended power adapter was not correct for my camera. Once I plugged both into the electrical outlets my internet connected right away. Easy to setup and once it starts working you are happy all it took was perservance!

The app used to work with my cameras but no longer does for some reason. I'm able to set them up and I can see video just fine in the setup screen but once I go back to the "My Cameras" page it just says "Configuring camera" and never works. I've tried resetting the cameras and the app itself but nothing works. Found dozens of others suffering from the same issue on the OWLR support page but OWLR hasn't bothered to respond.

Hardware was fine but the software is lousy. I ended up giving the camera way because the software was so obnoxious it was much easier to buy a better brand and get rid of the frustration that this device caused. Software is just too big and too cumbersome and doesn't play well with others it's also slow to respond and every time I've ever heard a noise outside it was always long long long gone before the camera would respond to my request.

OWLR IP cam viewer app was a very pleasant surprise! I have used it for about a week now. OWLR immediately found my 4 Insteon cameras (2 std def pan-tilt, 1 HD pan-tilt, and 1 HD outdoor) and displayed the video with minimal setup. I opted for the motion sensor alerts ($0.99/mon) which I felt was quite reasonable. For every alert OWLR sends me an email with three snapshots almost instantly. A great value, I think.

Worked good for about 2 months... the all of a sudden 2 cameras stopped streaming live and would send motion alerts. tech support was good with responding quickly... but couldn't seem to help me. I've cancelled my subscription and moved onto another more reliable app. there are plenty better apps and most are cheaper than this one. shop around folks.

Broke with And-10 on Pixel 3. Install the app and go thru the process to find phones. Says I need to turn on wifi and connect when I already am. Been this way since Android 10 update. How can software not realize your wifi connection exists and how can it not be an easy fix? Free software but useless until they fix it. **Update: still no change. just deleted the app. Nothing takes this long to fix. Paid for tinycampro and it's working across all my devices, including and tv.

After installing Android 10, the app says that it cannot detect an internet connection and can no longer display any camera video. My other video apps display the camera videos just fine. Hoping it will be fixed soon. Before the update, I really liked this app. Discovery and setup of the cameras was quick and easy!

We have been using this app for years with no issues. A few months ago we started to not be able to connect to camera. If I delete camera and read it, it works. We have one camera set up and it is internal only. We have Google wifi with three pucks. I finally figured out that it will not connect to camera unless I am in range of the wifi repeater that I connected to when I added the camera. So, now if I want to open the app to look at camera I have to go to the room that repeater is in.

App did not detect my camera even when adding it directly with the network settings. The company has terrible customer service, after several attempts to contact them they never get back to you! 9/24. Even after they contacted me regarding my review I again advised them of the issue and still have not received a response. They just never get back to you.

We run 5 camera's and its ok. Its only for our home. Its easy to set up and use. The only pain is when the camera's change when they reset themselves, like after a power cut then you have to go and change the settings but other than that there good. I find it easier than other app's.

Update 1/25/2021 I'm out. No longer works. Fix didn't work. Too bad. Bought new cameras. I hope they work better with their app. worked great for a long time and then just today motion detection ($.99 a month) stopped working. please help! edited review 2.5.19 changed from 2 to 5 stars. got the app working with some of the best cust service i've ever experienced for an adroid app! thanks! Update 12/25/2020 back to 2 stars. Motion detection stopped working again. Help!!!

UPDATE (8/16/20) -- found APK for older version 2.8.2.20, that has everything working again. Will turn off Play Store auto update til this is all resolved. Have always loved this app, better than the regular foscam app. But your latest update broke things. The app won't let me view my cameras and says "Looks like we had trouble configuring your camera for external access.". I haven't changed any settings in app or on my home network. Hope y'all can fix this or I have to begin looking elsewhere.

Was able to reset camera in about 30 seconds. Quickest way to reset a camera that was not visible on the internet. Update 5/7/22 cameras still running strong 6 years later.

Junk app. always freezing says it can never find my camera. when it does see camera works for 10 seconds then freezes. Update. This app seems to work fine for IOS but not for Android. My wife can control the camera and move it around on her iphone. Mine on Android it just doesn't let me do anything but view if that works have the time. Ill find the model of my camera and report back.

Very nice and user friendly interface. Cannot view recorded footage from SD card, otherwise would be 5 stars. Has a nice alerts feature, but requires a very affordable subscription for $0.99 a month.

3rd update 3/3/19: After leaving a review a week before, app was working well... Until today. The app would not go to the motion detect option and will just stay on the main view of the cam, saying initializing, then nothing happens. I tried it with the phone connected to the same router and then on my phone data, still did not work. For this app to be glitching is an inconvenience. This is the 2nd time in a matter of 8 weeks. Please fix this. Reinstalling did not work.

Doesn't support FOSCAM latest firmware update for the R2. System Firmware version 1.11.1.13 - works fine System Firmware version 1.13.1.6 - does not work What is odd is that the picture will display when I go into video settings... it just won't display outside of settings. This is true in both the FOSCAM-specific app and the Multi-brand app. Can we get an update for that?

My Camara works fine and everything, the app recognizes it and I have it set up but its says it can't connect when I try to go into the camera yet it shows the live feed in the "My cameras" section when I'm not in it. I downloaded a different app and its connects perfectly fine and when I go back to this app it says it still can't connect.

great experience, except that there are multiple OwlR apps and it is confusing. on the plus side, all of them have a different color icon, so you can have them all installed while you figure out which one works.

been using this app for years now. worked flawlessly until recently I get no notifications or email. motion ditector not working anymore. please fix asap so can give 5 stars. I've tried again by cancelling subscription and surviving again with no change. I get emails but still no notifications. please fix.

Absolutly perfect and works great, with total coverage and live alerts to your google account and mobile txt alerts, as well as realtime security snapshot photos and video records sent directly to you in several different forms, as they are detected, plus many other great features,, impressive

App is great if you can successfully connect with cameras. Having continuing problem with one of my two cameras. Contacted customer support via email on multiple occasions they sadly never respond. Would give 5 stars if they made the effort. They should maybe consider subscription to offer qualify customer service.

well took a bit of browsing to find the ports that neede forwarding (88 and 554 for my foscam 9816P) but i got it working. sometines when 'm not on my home network (away from home) the foscam app can not receive the stream... think it's a camera bug. owlr on the other hand works when my foscam app does not. so i use it when i am away. if it had motion notifications it would completely replace the foscam app. it is just faster and better than the foscam app.

This so used to be extremely reliable, but it has recently become unusable. It keeps losing connection and then doesn't recognize the cameras. I have to keep deleting and re-adding the cameras basically every day.
