I was a GYM user and I was recommended by the Freeletics team to swap to this one. I loved it. It's more fluid, the coach is better, and the "gaming experience" added to the well designed app really kept me motivated. For the first time in my life I'm almost addicted to training. Actually, I've got a question to the team: will we be able in future to log non-Freletics "training days" to the program? That could help the coach in the evaluation. Thank you!
I love the app, and the coach. I train at least 5 times a week lately. I feel better. I don't see time running by while focused on the exercises. It seemed a bit repetitive to me at the beginning but I guess that is inevitable when you start. The dark mode is really enjoyable. This is regrettable that it seems to have disappeared in the last past days.
I'd rate Freeletics' concept 5 out of 5. ALTHOUGH, I think the app can be better. After years I still find quite complicated the use of this social media side the app has. Also, for Premium users workouts can be a little repetitive after a while. They should propose more equipment when starting a new coach program. In addition, I don't think they really know how a gyms are (in Europe or elsewhere). One cannot run 400 meters and then do some pull-ups, we'd need the entire gym for those mixed exs.
Work outs are ok but the functionalities are really bad. Can't edit/log work outs (if you forgot to click yes at the end of a work out for instance). Just let us log previous work outs! You also need to click a lot of stuff every time to log work outs which is pointless and takes forever. I don't want to broadcast workouts to the world. Get a clue! Very frustrating.
This app is only really worth downloading if you pay for membership. Free features are very limited... once you pay, it is quite good, though for the moment it doesn't look like I can do more than one training session at a time... which is disappointing as I'd like to be simultaneously trying different training journeys...
Freeletics keeps me fit without the bother of having to decide which exercises to do every day. The data i work out are also entered in the app so a lot of the planning related stress disappears. However, each time I start HIIT, eventually, i sprain or hurt parts of my body. I wish the app would take more feedback and suggest stretching exercises only when you are hurt.
I just started working out using the coach. The workouts were challenging and left me very satisfied that I was making progress towards my goal. The app is well made, and the videos work very well. If I could change one thing, it would be to make editing the weight used a little easier. It's hard to hit the button in the corner. Maybe have an option to edit weight at the end of the workout?
It's okay, but needs more for a paid app. I've been enjoying the HIIT training but it annoys me you can't add you own exercises in that you have done. For example, I do a cycle and skipping before every session but can't add that in. Also you can't write what size weights you used on the workout so you know to go up or down next time. Just a simple notes section would do. On the running, it just has set distances or free run. An interval sprints option on top or the free running would be nice.
I've tried this and Kayla Itsine's app - this is the winner by at least the UX alone, it's so easy to navigate everything. The coach is also very well done and takes you current strength and endurance well into account, adjusting very smartly to your feedback. The only thing missing is a post-pregnancy program, lol (though honestly, if you would do one, that would be great. Just the amount of bad post-pregnancy exercise apps is sad, and the quality even sadder)
Updated to 5/5!!! They added the time gap for transitioning from 1 exercise to the other. More workouts and versatility. *4.5* Great app, easy to use and the feedback factor is great for adjustments even if you are a complete beginner. Love the fact that there is a function to amend workouts based on available time and other circumstances for the given day. It would have been 5 stars instead of 4.5 if there was an additional 5-10 second pause/gap when transitioning to a timed exercise/stretch.
Don't download this app if you're looking for a variety of free workouts and a user-friendly interface. You won't find it here. They work hard to trap you in a subscription and then refuse to refund you if you want to cancel. I was never refunded, even though I contacted them the very same day that they charged my card for renewal. The hassle really isn't worth what the app/workouts have to offer.
I wanted to give it a solid chunk of time before I reviewed to see if I stuck with it, 6 weeks in and I'm still engaged and using the app on a daily basis! I'm seeing the impacts of the workouts, and the workouts themselves keep you motivated - each time I feel I'm getting stronger and the workouts easier, the app ups the intensity and difficulty. There's variety with the workouts to prevent boredom, and they also allow you to go at your own pace which I haven't found elsewhere. Worth the money!
Good, using it since several years. But skill progression doesn't work so well. I would like to get more complex exercises into my workout plan from the coach, but the "skill progression" doesn't fit to the workouts. For example, I can do one handed push ups, they were part of my last plan as well, but now the progression starts to teach me normal push ups again. Would be great to set the marks manually so that the coach gives you more complex tasks in the skill progression part.
Been using this app for a while (read 2-4 years) a bit on and off. The last 6+ months I have stepped it up. Keeping the discipline is the hardest. The streaks I have had over the last few years has been in conjunction with peers, either 1-2-1 sessions or with team sports on the side. The app has a community, but is varies a lot based on where you are located. Would recommend the app. For maximum success bring a friend!
It's my third subscription after a few years. I like the new dumbbell program. But I hope there'll be combo equipment of choice (Dumbell, Barbell , kettlebell, pull up bars, etc.) in the next update. I would love it if it supports split screens so i could also play music apps. I would also love if app has a voice over explaining how to do the exercises and also prompt you of the next exercise..
I maintain that this is overall a pretty damn good fitness app. I'm happy that they finally added running and the ability to specify the circumstances surrounding your setup, like whether or not you have space to do certain exercises on your pullup bar. I'd appreciate it if they added dip bar based exercises as well. That'd pretty much make the app perfect as far as I'm concerned.
Loving it so far, but there is 1 major thing lacking-the ability to stop a workout halfway and save it. Currently of I'm able to push to the end of a workout, I can only end it. This means even if I did half of the workout, it doesn't get logged for that day, and it's as if I didn't do anything at all. My request, please please add the option to end a workout mid-way, and to save the progress we did even if not 100% complete.
I really like the app overall, have been using it for ~2 years. But I wanted to report a bug that I found most recently. Whenever I am in the middle of an exercise series and navigate away from the app or turn of the screen and then come back to the app, the countdown sometimes gets frozen and doesn't move to the next step. This forces me to exit the exercise, restart it and skip to the step I was previously in. Please fix. I am using Galaxy S20FE, Android 12. Thanks
I am on the third month of using the app, and I am beyond happy 😊. I though i give it a try and will see after. So many apps to choose from, i just though Freeletics sounded good for me and I wasn't wrong. Exercises i tailored to your level but in the same time they are challenging enough for you to reach the next level. I am happy the way i have progressed and the way I ve started to transform my body. I will definitely keep it up and continue beyond the three initial months 😉
All my life I've struggled to consistently work out. I can't even remember how many times I've started and stopped. But freeletics makes staying motivated easy by providing you everything you need for your workouts: Custom plans, information on wellbeing, diet, etc. After downloading this app I've been able to get a perfect week streak of 10 and I haven't looked back. Can not overstate how much I recommend this app for anyone wanting to start working out with no idea where to begin
A great app, with good workouts. However, i don't like the number of pages of statistics it insists on taking you through before allowing you to finish a workoit. I wish there was a setting that would make "ending" a workout a one-press affair. That's my only complaint.
Zero subscription renewal notification. Once you sign up. They do not notify you a year later your subscription is renewing. Not a very transparent approach. When contacting them, they simply tell you that "we told you that when you signed up" ( over a year ago) and that their t&C's are there to read "at any time". I personally don't randomly read a companies t&C's on a rainy Tuesday, but hey may some people do. All they need to do is send a simple email stating they are taking money from you.
Great app with enough variety to keep things interesting. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is that the cardio days offer running as the only option, and my knees are too bad to allow me to run. It'd be good if, instead of running, I could choose the cross trainer or exercise bike etc.
The core app itself is great. Love the format, love the exercise demos, love the workouts themselves. Could do without all the prompts to share my journey, buy stuff for my journey, and the programmed cheers after every interval. If there's a way to turn all of that off, it would be an easy 5 stars.
The variety of equipment-free exercises alone is excellent for a non-athlete or someone who can't afford a fun membership or have enough time to get to one. Still on my second week. Even if I don't lose weight quickly in very satisfied with the high intensity workouts.
This app is great for body weight exercises, and I loved this journey, but not so much the hybrid journey running/exercises. You cannot choose the order of when you run/exercise (for instance, I do long runs on Sundays, but they are suggested for Tuesdays). I can't use the data of my garmin and the app's GPS is way off, so I end up running way more than the workout says (for instance, Garmin shows 300m done while Freeletics announces 200m, it's especially frustrating for interval exercises...)
