small, functional, no ads. I've added Google, Microsoft, CloudFlare and Humble Bundle accounts. I keep using it, but I can't add stream account (it's quite special case), neither look or exports secret keys to transfer the 2FA data to my other phone. Also, app can't use a site's favicon, and doesn't even have dark background mode. +1 star for letting it be FOSS.
Great! Very eay to setup and add authentication for different apps. I've tried adding security keys but I can't work out how to use it. Only bad thing is I can't scan my Yahoo! Mail authentication QR Code; I don't know if there is something wrong with the code or the app. The feedback/help link in the app goes to an inactive wiki page...
It works flawlessly. No updates required. For those who want a backup export feature - save original QR-code pictures for recovery and keep them in several secret places, one in Veracrypt container in a cloud, for example.
It does what it's supposed to, nothing bad to say about that part. But there is no option to export to a new phone so I had to manually disable 2FA in a dozen of sites and re-enable with the new phone, using another app this time. Use another app, to save you the headache in the future.
This works fine, however it's hopelessly outdated and looks like it's abandonware at this point. Key features like displaying the secret or an export/backup function are painfully missing from this. Other apps which are also open source have a clear advantage in these regards nowadays.
App has a bug that causes account icons to no longer work in modern Android versions, and while it's fixed in code, there's no indication that a new version will ever be released on the Play Store. I can no longer recommend this app as it appears to be abandoned. Find an alternative.
The app works well, exactly as it promises. I only miss the posibility of transfering the codes to another smartphone, and that the images that I asign to each number generator are lost from time to time.
A simple, functional OTP manager; much more light-weight than the official Google Authenticator app, and as far as I've been able to tell, just as functional, if not more so. The official Authenticator app is easier to use, but the learning curve for this is actually pretty shallow. Definitely consider it if you value preserving the space on your device.
Redhat surely can afford a simple update making the app officially compatible with the newest Android versions? Also note that it's cumbersome(impossible?) to transfer tokens to a new phone. This is certainly a bit more secure, but be aware that you make this convenience/security tradeoff.
Not a flashy as others, but I think it has been well vetted. I read that these apps should stop screen capture when running where as other will know OTP apps don't. That is a BIG security flaw. Some well-known OTP authenticators forgot to include that feature.
Safe and simple and easy UI, not relying on SMS (which is unsafe, and country-dependant), works for all countries. And it's open source. No need for export (there are password managers to keep the main code for you). Thanks for deveping this
Does what it has to do but very minimalistic. The main reason I wanted this is because it automatically hides your code after a while. On the iphone version you can choose to require fingerprint authorization, but on the android version this feature is absent which makes it almost the same as other authenticators to me.
Couldn't be easier to use, works with anything and doesn't require accounts or sharing data. Brilliant! The one downside is no easy import/export method.
Keep all your tokens in one place! No need to hunt for Code Generators among countless menus nor rely on insecure SMS for two factor authentication. Will read the QR codes that other apps use even if they don't say anythong about FreeOTP. You can also attach icons to each token (do an image search and get them) which makes it visually easy to identify which token is which.
Easy to use. However, there is no export or backup feature (which may be intentional), so you'll have to make a copy when you first set up 2FA to have a backup.
Please add import and export functions, it's a hassle to replace phones without this function.. If one have more than 1 or 2 codes on phone, it just takes forever to migrate... Please add it.. Please!
❤(Still waiting for to hear from you guys)❤ (Before they delete this app please) This is a message to Red Hat who makes this app . From all who love this app please please update this app and don't allow this to fade in the distance as so many other apps has done. I am keeping my old message I had on here. It is below this message. So you know this person love this app. Please update this. We respect your app......🙏 🚨Awesomeness!!!!!! Make sure you keep updating it. I love it.🚨
Code not generating, it's telling me that app was created for an older version of Android. I use this for work would love it if it got fixed quickly. Thank you.
This app is out dated. It's made for an older version of Androids. So I still can't get into my Samsung account. I've had no luck at all. I need to get into my Samsung account. HELP!
No idea how to make this work, no guidance at all. What is the field which is pre-filled with a 64 hex value? I was not allowed to leave it unchanged, so I could never get a single OTP code added. I installed "FreeOTP+ (2FA Authenticator)" instead, a fork which has fixed small things like this.
The app worked great until I had to change my phone. No export, migration or anything similar made it a nightmare.
1. A search function must be implemented for when you have many pages of codes. 2. Sometimes it is unable to scan QR codes in while others can.
I have 2 cameras on my device, and the app chooses the wide angle one, which cannot focus on the QR code on the paper. There is no way to change this behavior. I cannot therefore scan the QR code
I need help... I had to change my mobile and 're download the app... now nothing works and I can not use the system neither generate an otp from the app Can you assist me
Ad-free and open source. The only thing that is missing: dark mode support
Worlds better after recent update. Now loading content. Would be nice to search for news ,as there seems to be notable gaps, for example no content on Womens Super League on the final day. In fact no coverage womens football at all)
This app needs to get updated. I can't scan a qr code with this app since it won't recognize android 11. Also like a few updates have already said no backup feature. I'm using a samsung S20+
I've used this app for over a year without issue, and it has served me well. However, as noted by others, it's been a while since it's received an update. There is also no way to backup/retrieve secrets. As such, unfortunately, I've decided I should switch to andOTP, which appears to be current and actively developed as well as being capable of backups, etc., while still remaining free and open source
