GM Wizard: Character Generator

Very good tool for making npcs very quickly! Only problem for me is that it has only 7 choices for races, and doesnt even have all the races from the Players Handbook yet. I can totally understand that it takes a lot of work to get the stats and put it in the app but thats the only thing keeping a 5 star rating so far!

Pretty darn useful! makes generating npcs on the spot easy as pie, and is helping me during campaign planning, too. Weird issues: the Rate This App and Feedback buttons don't seem to work, and i can't seem to get a Charisma score over 7. That's not an issue for a half orc fighter, but it's weird for a human bard.

Good and fast character generator, i just wish they would add in the newer races. i want goblin, minotaur, tabaxi, and goliath npcs as well.

This app is very hand for churning out some quick npcs. It would be great to have races of ravnica added like the goblin, Minotaur, centaur, simic hybrid, vedalken. Another app that I use has different names for certain races wotc have trademarked for instance vedalken are violetken. Really hope to see thos possibly in the future

What happened to your insult generator?

I really enjoyed this app. A big part of why I bought it was the bartender banter/rumor bit. I'd love to see more on that end. Or maybe a random rumor/investigative lead generator. It's always a lot of fun to have some intrigue or gossip floating around, even if it's not true.

I'm new to being the DM so I don't have much experience creating good characters, this has helped me create an entire town of NPCS and has made my story a much more fun one, definitely worth it. I really wish the randomizing was a bit more random though, and a few more choices of magical items for the characters, but all around this is an awesome app.

I really like it except for the randomized ability scores. Every randomization seems to have low-low scores (3-5) and some really high ones (17-18). Not a deal breaker by any means, but maybe some threshold options would be good? Not really sure how I would fix it, to be honest.

Could use more races and classes. But still very very useful when the gang decides to walk to the park instead of the classic bar..... So much wasted potential story line....

It's okay, but if you're wanting to fill in your own race/class/etc, don't bother. Pretty restrictive in certain parts, and is missing a good chunk of D&D 5e stuff (Dragonborn and Tiefling, for starters). Hasn't been updated in two years though, so don't expect it to change.

I need to search/organize folders by race/class - could we get that feature added please? --Having to make too many folders. Otherwise this App has been very useful.

To reply to your response, last time I checked this app was missing all of the classes from the Advanced Classes Guide which was released last year. These classes include: Bloodrager, Skald, Warpriest, etc.

This app is great and is usable by all Game Masters. I use it in my GURPS campaign for the generation of NPCs and it does an excellent job.

I would really like to see more races added, or ideally an option for a fill-in custom race. Same with class. If I introduce players to a Tiefling Noble, for example, that isn't something this application currently can support.

I would like to see a delete character/file option in app. I have a folder that duplicates each time I save a character to it.

Streamlines a tedious process and great for populating your campaigns with quick, but memorable characters. There are lots of options and character traits. The ability to lock in certain traits is useful when you want something specific but not sure what the rest should be. App is fast and responsive, works great on my gs3. The art is great too. Would love to be able to export a .pdf. This app is well worth $0.99

Not only is this this great for role playing games it works for video game stats of npcs. Has really great art work and unique character types . Id love to see if these guys do any mission packs. Can tell by the writing company is very creative Im sure they will have more in store. I would love to see . Games and character sheets . Phones are such a big part of everything these days. Why not have character sheets done as well. Great job guys !!

I'm satisfied since I use this app to enhance my adventures. I hope in continuous update. I'd like a feature to export in clipboard all the generated stats, eventually in pdf or better in txt format. I'd like also the availability to extend the list of values in many fields with own ones.

I've tried a few of these NPC generators but this is the first one that works for me. The format is simple and less cluttered than other gens I've tried and yet the characters feel more fleshed out. Some of the personalities it generates are pretty hilarious, it adds a lot more character to our games. The barkeep is a really cool bonus, reminds me of my dad for some reason. Also, this is a niffy little tool for helping me create characters for the Sims and RPGs/MMOs. I agree with making it printable or perhaps just making it so you can email it to yourself?

The traits and random inventory items give the characters some depth and quirks. They lead to more ideas of back story or for a campaign. Had fun just reading some of the generated characters out loud to friends. Useful for dungeon masters. And it's great to have a fantasy name generator that provides usable, pronounceable names.
