I can take what I need and leave what I dont. I am very body positive and it's hard to find workouts that are along with this. This app definitely doesnt fit the bill to me. But in general I love the idea of just have the audio I instruction so you can do them at the gym without watching a video. The music is fun but there should be option to add your own. I like the variety of classes available.
I've been using this app for almost a year. It's been pretty good for me, especially now that I am only working out at home. I love that it's just audio and I can pop in my wireless earbuds and go! The app glitches sometimes but not enough to be a big issue for me. In general I think there is a pretty good variety of workouts, however there isn't a great variety in the specific areas and types of workouts I am wanting. But I can make do... I am definitely considering another year subscription.
My only critique is that I would find it helpful to see the exercises involved in each class without starting the class first. Other than that, my experience with the app has been really positive. edit: when I said my only critique I forgot about this one... Incorporating my own music into the classes would be amazing. either pairing with my music or even letting me select playlist/genre/etc. from your pool of music is very desirable. that would make this app perfect! EDIT 1/11/2019 - I found out how to change the genre of the playlist during the workout. That is a nice feature.
I think this is a must have app for anyone who is looking for a fun new workout. My favorite part is that you don't have to be looking at a screen while you are working out. The instructors are very clear and detailed in what each exercise should look like and if you're confused there's helpful illustrations. Take if from someone who has tried the Sweat app, YouTube videos, Sworkit app, and others, this is my favorite way to workout at home/at my home gym.
I have been using the running routines. They definitely help me keep going and motivated during running. Like a few others have commented on, the music tends to randomly cut off, and frequently the app pauses half way through a work out and when you click play to resume, it plays routine from the start, frustrating on a 50 min run.
The app very wonky. The trainers are great, the music is 10x better than Aaptiv. The workouts are similar to Aaptiv, but the app itself crashes entirely too much to be worth the cost. Took away a star because you cannot download exercises for use when there is no WiFi or network connection. Add the ability to download!
I've only taken one cycle class so far. Some of the cues were not as safe as I prefer (max resistance out of the saddle, then sit... you should probably take a bit of resistance off since your weight is no longer helping... and hand position seated should be 1st or 2nd, not 3rd to strain the back)... but other than that, the music and cueing were clear, the music was a great tempo, it was a great way to show up at the gym and not have to think :) I'll use it again for sure!
Such a nice companion to the classpass app. I love the audio workouts. Would be super helpful if theh added photos of positions in case you ever need an example. If they added kickboxing if be thrilled. I left aaptiv because they stopped offering kickboxing and I can't find a good app for that. Otherwise, awesome app hope they add more content!
the music stops after every song and won't start again until I load it back up. The class itself stops if my phone is locked for a few minutes. Can't keep unlocking my phone while running for 30+ min. Tried to contact their support to alert them of these issues and it wouldn't even let me do that.
I love the variety of workouts available and that the trainers provide clear instructions, including fitness level and whether or not you need equipment. My only complaint is that the music keeps cutting off during the spin bike sessions. I have to unlock my screen for the music to start up again.
The classes are awesome and quite varied so you're sure to find something that fits what you're looking for. I would like better descriptions of the workouts but now I'm just being nit-picky. Thanks for a good app. 23 Jan: music still stops as do the classes now. Using google phone. 8 Jan 21:Still love the application. 19Dec21: Great app.
It's a grewt concept but the app freezes up constantly. I have to reboot the app a handful of times before any class will start up. the background music is wonky too and stops part way through each class. Then if you try to restart the music, the instructor audio will cut out and the app will shut down.
Workouts are good, when you can get the app to work. Logs off often and I've made suggestions like enabling a playlist option so users can pair workouts together and bookmarking sections of the audio to skip the intros. For a good example of a good functional fitness app. Check out BSY. TV.
So many bugs. Classes randomly stop running or restart. Music stops everytime the screen shuts off. The app randomly logs you out, so you have to log back in and then restart your workout. I'm actively trying out other apps so I can switch.
Workout was solid, but the feature that shows the exercises doesn't seem to work, and that would really enhance the audio (it showed images once, but then wouldn't scroll to next exercise, and another time images didn't load)
Have used the app today for 2 rowing workouts. I was frustrated by the app crashing during the workouts on several occasions. I have tried to email for technical support but I have been unable to as it states that I failed captcha verification.
Glitchy. The video content didn't load /play throughout the workout. The voice and music played, but not being able to see the images made following a bit difficult.
Really wish the app would stop pausing in the middle of my workout, and the music only works for the first few minutes. But I love this app and all of the trainers and workouts!
The workouts are awesome but the app is pretty flaky.. music stops randomly and today the trainer audio stopped while I was in a sprint. Would be great to be able to sync at least the trainer audio down to my device.
I wish it worked but it freezes halfway through every single workout and forces you to start over defeating the entire purpose of the App. I will consider paying for it once the issues are fixed.
Has the potential of being a great app. Used 3 times each time it cuts out during workout. Music does not play throughout workout. Tried to make contact but not successful
is ok but a lot doesnt make sense. like, in plank program it has on day 3 a 45 second plank but also sets of spiderman pushups. If a person can do multiple sets of 6 spiderman pushups they would already be able to hold a plank for more than 45 seconds. i mean i can plank for 2 minutes but i can do only 1 spiderman pushup. it would be useful if the programs shared requirements beofe you start. like "You need to be able to do at least 6 spiderman pushups to do this program" This is not "beginner"
Literally coaches just giving commands with huge pauses in between. No encouragement, just directions. Times of a run were started but then WAY off - sometimes 30 seconds was 10 seconds; other times 1.5 minutes was 6 minutes.
I've been using this app for a while now and I still love it. It's great for a challenge or for a reset. No irritating ads, just an awesome app for all types of workouts. Definitely worth the download!
Very similar to Aaptiv. Two things which this app does better is there are programs made for progression, and you can pick what music genre you'd like in each workout. However, there's no search function and you can only search by their categories or by searching an exercise. You also can't see which exercises are in each workout, so it can be hard to find upper body body weight because there's no collection for it. The bookmarking system is minimal. And the app hasn't been updated in a year.
