It's so annoying that reminders (e-mail + notification) are automatically added for 30mn before every event I create. I have to remove these two reminders manually evrytime I create an event, otherwise I receive tons of e-mails and notifications since I plan everything with the calendar. Please remove this. PS: My previous comment seems to have been removed ?? I wrote it yesterday. Really weird... 🤨

Can't believe they removed the ability to assign each event an individual color. What were you thinking there?!? That was like the main reason I found this calendar useful. This thing is junk now. Thanks a lot Google, not sure what's going on with you guys recently (past 3-5 years) but this is just a small example of a much larger set of problems with your products lately

I'm updating my review because it seems that my issue was fixed. I only gave 3 stars because one extremely annoying thing is that the big calendar widget doesn't have a button to get back to the current day, so if you scroll months ahead you have to slowly make your way back. [The following has not happened for a long while now] App will randomly delete all self created events. I checked online on multiple different threads and there is no solution. This has been an issue since 2019.

I really like how well this app works, simple, practical, and universal. The only improvements I would ask for would be to instead of have color options, have color assigned event types, such as allowing an event typ like work to be created and meals. Each could be assigned a color per the users preference. You could even have event auto-detect to make it more intuitive. That and the creation of a downloadable desktop app would make Google Calendar perfect for people like me.

I find this app very hard to use. The layout is bad and the app is tedious to use if you're setting up multiple reminders. Whenever I set the calendar to the the month view it will swap back to daily. The reminders are very limited without having any major choices of customization or being able to make a new category.

Edit: The problem is not in the things you say sir. I already installed the app now. The problem is not cache. I give an example: I set up an event for 6-7 o'clock, the notification comes to the phone just in time. There is no problem with that. But that notification disappears by itself after 1 hour.

Pretty solid, if I do say so myself. Although the new interface is very confusing. It's been a bit since I've last opened Google calander, I've finally wanted to get my life together, and decided to use a nice, trusted company to help me with that. Google. Only to see my previous memory of this apps interface completely wash away. The side scrolling view for the calender when you open the app is very unusual to say the least. Not what I'm used to, but hey, its free with no ads. Who cares.

You can't edit or add other calendar subs. So you need to use the desktop version of Google Calendar, and this app won't let you as it autoads instead. Google is doing a great job of making all their apps frustrating useless. Also, too much screen estate is wasted with cartoon pictures. No option to adjust the view, font size, etc. Makes the month and week view pretty much useless. unless you only have 1 appointment once in a blue moon. In which case you probably don't need a calender. :(

Keep having a weird problem. When I set multiple reminders and they pop up on my notification bar and I click on one, it will not go to the one I clicked on. It will pick a random reminder from that day and go to it. I then have to go to the actual app and click on the reminder I wanted to edit or whatever. It's been like this forever. Other than that, good. But 2 stars cuz I expect more Google lol. You run like, the world.

Best of all calendars. I use Microsoft 365 Outlook Calendar, Apple Calendar and Google Calendar. Google Calendar has best fields and layout options, able to add descriptions. Easy to use and view. EXCEPT no recurring last day of month option. Otherwise Excellent! Wish I could set as default on Galaxy phone and remove Samsung calendar. Not possible. Disabling does not hold, Samsung syncs and duplicates notifications.

This app can be better. For instance, it would be extremely handy if events could be dragged or be assigned priorities. There are also a few bugs that make the experience horrible such as: (1) when a task is programmed to end at a given date, it ends one day before instead and (2) when an event is programmed to last all day but then it is changed to happen within a time period, it starts today and ends the other day, like why would I want that? No one would schedule an event that way.

I find the app usefull. However, the calendar can be improved even more. A nice feature that I would find very convient to add, would be to be able to move/postpone all calendar events in a certain day by a time period (e.g. 15 minutes, 1 hour etc.) all in once (keeping the sequence of the events the same), without having to manually drag them all individually later in the calendar. Also, it would be nice to be able to add differrent calendar categories and to classify events between them.

As always incredible product, but I would like to see some improvements such as: Push notifications/toasts instead of or on top of emails as well as the hability to block emails that are continuosly sending meeting requests just to make it harder for scammers. For the rest wonderful service, I don't know how to live without out it now :)

I live by my Google calendar, and the color coding makes it so easy to keep everything organized. However, there must have been a recent update because now all of colors are faded and the calendar is more difficult to see and has lost the ease of access that I count on from it. I'm hoping there is simply a new setting that I am missing so I can continue using Google calendar, but I've had no luck finding it and may need to find a new app 😪

Mel. R. Apr 2, 2022

The new update messed up the colors on the widget. In the actual calendar (in app and in a browser) the font text is white on the colored event backgrounds and easy to read. The update made the "lighter" colors have black text instead. The white was easier to read on every color and now it's very hard to look at on some of the colors because they're not light enough to justify black text. I'm looking for an alternative until they either go back to how it was or give us a choice of font color.

Bri. L. May 5, 2022

There are calendars and events that I can see on the web version but not in my app. Some of them are ones I've had shared with me that I used to be able to see in both places, but then all of a sudden the calendar disappeared from the list in the app. Some of them are *my* calendars that just are not showing up in the app. It's really frustrating because the app is my go to place for viewing my day to day schedule and it allows me to coordinate with family.

Pam. D. P. Apr 11, 2022

I liked it before it updated. I would color code my calendar and could easily see my events. Now all my colors are lighter (pastel/dusty) versions of the original colors. Red looks orange, grape purple looks lavender, etc. I don't like it at all. I've tried uninstalling an reinstalling but the colors only correct for a short period before they go back to being pastel.

Pau. Apr 3, 2022

I love Google Cal typically, mostly due to the color coding system, but with the recent update, the colors are all lighter/black text, which is hard to read. As a result I am having a hard time following my appts, daily system, etc. all because it's difficult to read. Please give us the option to go back to our colors!

Jim. F. Apr 3, 2022

The color choices an the latest app update are terrible. I use my Google calendar app on an hour by hour basis for my work. The bright bold colors made scheduling very easy. The pastel look is worthless. Tomato (red) is now a faint orange and nearly unreadable. It makes no sense to me that Google would release such a worthless update. Please give us the bold colors back.

I've been a loyal user of Google Calendar for more than 5 years. Somewhere in the latest 2-3 updates, something happened and now I can no longer drag and drop events or create them in a tap + adjust the times by dragging the top or bottom of the event item on the screen. It has been very bothersome to have the event created and then be obliged to change the times by manual input. Or to not be able to just drag events across different days. I updated and reinstalled my app to the latest version.

I have spent all day trying to get my calendar to sync with my new phone. I just got the pixel 6. My old phone was a Samsung s8. I also have the Google calendar on a Samsung tablet and it works great. But for some reason the Google calendar works on Samsung devices, but not Google?! If I can't get this to work in the next day or two I'm going back to Samsung. **in reply to the developer-i did all of that. Still not working. I even tried to call for assistance and was told that my only option is to leave feedback as there is no one that I can talk to for assistance. Maybe try having a customer service number.

Since the latest update my calendar text keeps turning white. This is awful. I have not selected white! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. This results in black text but then after a few minutes it automatically turns white! I have never had this problem before. This is seriously annoying to the point thst I am considering ditching Google calendar.

Tom. C. Mar 30, 2022

Has been useful, colour selection has gone and has allocated colours to things. Need an alternative that doesn't force me to keep spending time adapting. To be selfish I want a calender to help manage time, not cost excessive time in managing it. Historically very happy with it. It has controlled group allocation by colour, not a choice I made myself. Overall historically very good, the constant changes have been irritating though. Recent changes are too much and need to find an alternative...

For 9 months, since July 2021, this has had a bug that causes me plenty of issues. Notifications for "reminders" will often take you to the wrong reminder if there have been more than one notification that day. It sounds minor but it makes it very easy to accidentally reschedule the wrong reminder. This means that reminders, which were supposed to be helping make my life easier by stopping me forgetting things, are actually making things less reliable because I can't be sure that I've edited or dismissed the right one. This bug is acknowledged on the Google Calendar Support Forum as a regression affecting many (all?) users, yet Google has not bothered to fix it for 9+ months. 9 months! Dear developers. Please do not respond suggesting I clear my cache. This is a bug in your software affecting many users. Please just fix it. And yes I've submitted feedback in the app, as have many others, for 9 months.

Dan. S. May 25, 2022

Has a bug where tapping reminder in my notifications doesn't always open the right reminder. Been like this for about 8 months. Happens consistently when I have two or more reminders in my notifications. If I tap "mark as done" on reminder A, then tap into reminder B from the notification, the app opens reminder A instead. Edit: Read the review properly before responding please.

I've used app for quite a while and it is incredibly useful and convenient. With that said, the latest app update no longer sends invites to the individuals selected once the event it saved; it only saves the event on my calendar. I've disvovered the invites are only sent to the selected individuals via the website version. Why the change? It is less convenient as I always use the app. Thank you for time reading this.

Color of events are very faded after the last update and very difficult to distinguish clearly between colors. Red look like orange and so on. Also the background text changed to black make it difficult to see. Been using Google calendar for awhile but if nothing changes soon I going to start looking for another app soon! Suggest either changing colors back to the way they used to be or give us options to choose the color of our choice!

Use Google Calendar daily, for years. Love the app. I wish there was a way I can set notifications as a change log. For example, if I or another person adds or makes a change to an event, in a shared calendar you'll receive a push notification of that added or change to an event. I know you can get email notifications but a push notification straight to mobile announcing them would be faster and better.
