Cannot adjust volume with phone. One of the worst most annoying things is to have to continuously get up and down to adjust the volume on my TV while streamkng. You'd think the Google TV app would fix this. This is the message I get when trying to adjust volume on my phone "Surround sound enabled to adjust volume use your TV's remote". Hulu, YouTube, Amazon prime video I can adjust the volume on my phone........ I'll just rent my movies on there from now on.

This app is destined for failure. To say that it's limited in its capabilities is an understatement. It does a better job suggesting shows and movies through services that you're not subscribed to then it does services that you are subscribed to. Did I mention that it doesn't include Netflix? How can you not have Netflix in your lineup of Channel offerings. Also, I am a YouTube TV subscriber it does not include the ability to pull up the channel list inside the app. Use Google Play. It's easier.

What is this UI? It's completely unintuitive, painstakingly frustrating to navigate, and just an overall mess. Sure the old Play Movies and TV wasn't the flashiest looking thing, but at least I could find what I was looking for. This on the other hand, just down right unusable.

Whatever this highlight thing is, is absolutely garbage and now I can't even use this app to watch the movies and shows I own through Google. I wish they had actualy done something usefull like make it easier to find a movie I own to I don't have to scroll through the 100's that I have. Can't search in the store because if it's ever gotten a "name change" (customer services wording) it thinks I don't own it anymore.

Trying to watch a movie on my computer, stuck with descriptive audio. I do not have any settings on my account that would tell the program I need it and clicking audio/caption settings on the video itself does nothing but freeze the movie and then it won't start again. Closing and reopening? descriptive audio is back on.

One feature I'd like to see is when you buy a bundle or "box set" it recognises those individual films/shows in your library. I've had several occasions where family members have bought individual movies where I already had a copy in the library. I think this works in Google TV but not the app store. Also, it would be nice to be able to transport a digital library across apps (audio books from one app to google and vice versa). Maybe that's hoping too much.

Waste of time. I run the exact same apps through my 10 year old Xbox and they work fine. Bought a Google Chromecast with Google TV and it spends 90% of the time buffering and the rest of the time telling me to check my network connection. Absolute waste of time and money. Don't bother.

One of my movie purchases stopped working. Google TV always jumps to half way through the movie every time I try to launch it and reports an error or crashes. Have tried deleting caches, downloading, streaming, switching off and on, quickly repositioning time line in the film before it crashes, to no avail.

The app keeps closing saying there's a bug and that y'all need to update it to fix it. Found out what the bug is when trying to watch the newest episode of Bob's burgers the images and the audio is out of sync and occasionally there will be some type of like green streak going across the screen so you need to fix this Google now.

I have purchased movies that I cannot watch. Constantly trying to load the movies and get the error message to close the app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to make sure I have the latest version to no avail. I don't have this problem with any other app. Don't spend your money here buying movies!

Just as good as other movie apps I use & have found quite a few older or hard to find films that I had trouble finding on Prime & even Netflix. Didnt use this for the longest time until I found it was the only app that had a particular movie available I wanted to watch. Now I use Google TV almost as much as my other movie apps. Good addition to ones TV library.

Why they are moving all rental movies and tv shows to Google tv is beyond me. It all works perfectly fine through play store. Google tv doesn't show movie titles under the movie, the thumbnails are tiny and some of the movies don't even display an image, just a grey box. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Much prefer to just do it all through playstore. Uncool guys, super uncool. I tell you what, better not become a sub service either! *shakes fist* why I ought'a. . .

Doesn't work on tablets, at least not Samsung tablets. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still constantly stops and buffers then starts again. Works on my Sony TV so I know it's not an internet issue. Now I have to find a new place to rent movies, thanks Google

Missing many features that competition has, especially in terms of managing my wishlist. The basic ones are filters to browse for TV vs Movies, genres, and ratings. The expanded streaming info like JustWatch. Also, lists for movies would be helpful. Kind of like Trakt.

I have a few movies and shows that I bought over the years. Some upload and play with no problem but others it will be continuously loading or laggy even if I have wifi on or off downloaded or not. If I wanted to deal with skipping I would have bought it on DVD.

Having to have two apps installed to use the remote is very nice! And then you don't even make it clear in how to get the remote to show up in the quick settings.

Couldn't fetch license (error 1), none of some 40 purchased movies can be watched after being downloaded onto a sd card. Tried switching with different cards, no luck. Wasting my internet data usage attempting to remedy the problems. Please fix!

Tends to be really buggy. Videos I play go for a few seconds then stops and the app closes the video and goes back to the main menu. Or crashes outright. Force closing the app seems to fix it for a single video, but if I change videos, close the app, or the screen turns off, the same problem occurs again. It is very annoying. Aside from that, the app works great. I like the selection of shows and movies, and although prices can be a little high I certainly don't mind.

Half the time movies and shows that I have downloaded just don't show up. If I'm lucky, they'll reappear later in the day. Usually though it takes days before they randomly reappear. I have been trying to fix this problem, but support either ignores me or sends an automated response asking for more info and screenshots even when I have already sent screenshots and all the requested info in the original message. I just want to watch the stuff I paid for and downloaded.

Works terribly. Bought and paid for a movie. Phone wouldn't cast it, so I tried opening it on my Google TV. Doesn't work because it's downloaded on another device. It's not, I only tried playing it without downloading. No way to remove it from this device because it's not on this device, but Google thinks it is. Thanks for ruining my movie night with a disfunctional app. Back to Netflix then.

Hard to navigate, hard to find free movies, hard to filter by genres, difficult to find interesting movies. Only good thing is it shows you what movies are on which streaming platforms.

Useless app that only offers purchases. We have three of the Google TV dongles and they work great. You can browse apps like Pluto, Xumo and Tubi which show free options. We also have Hulu Ad Free Streaming and it works great. I installed this app on an emulator and I have it on my phone but the app is nothing like the dongle. All it gives you the ability to buy things from Google. It's a total waste of an app. Thanks Google.

I cannot find Extras/Bonus Content in the Google TV app for my purchased movies. I used to be able to play deleted scenes, interviews, alternate cuts, etc. on Google Play Movies, but on Google TV they are completely missing. It's like someone forgot to include this feature. Like how can something like this be overlooked, it's such an integral part of watching movies. Hooray for the digital age...

How does a big company like Google have such an awful video service? I can't even watch the videos I have downloaded. I had a whole series downloaded and now nothing is there. This has happened to me a few times. I also have a movie that's still showing as downloaded but it won't play. My internet has been down for over a month at home. Now would be a great time to have downloaded videos.

Awful app. Play movies was far superior. My biggest annoyance with this is as follows. On the previous app 4k purchased movies played in HD on my phone without issue. Now 4k movies just buffer and won't play . And yes, I'm only expecting HD on my phone... But I do expect it to play my purchase at the very least! S21+ on super fast fibre... So, no, I don't need to try resetting my router or turning it on and off again.

Use this app when I don't have wifi or good network to keep me entertained- downloaded the movies I've purchased. But why does the app try to stream these movies even when I have them downloaded, and when I've selected them from the downloaded section? Only get them to play from my phone when airplane mode is on. Please fix this issue

While I can browse the list of movies I've got the player crashes as soon as I have started a Chromecast session and try to bring up the progress/control panel. Annoying as hell. And makes the app almost useless. Good thing the YouTube app can stream my movies. Update, 2022-05-13: After uninstalling and reinstalling the app seen to work well.

Most of my movies and TV shows that I own are all digital. The issue with Google TV is that I can't watch half of my movie list. It just constantly buffers until it shuts down, which is super annoying. If I'm paying for the movies, I should be able to watch them wherever I am able to stream. I dont have this problem with Amazon Prime, which I also have digital movies and shows on.

The idea of having everything in one place is really good but it definitely needs improvements. What I don't like is that if I'm paying for movies (Rent or Buying) I should be able to have more options for audio or at least for subtitles. It's 2022 for God sakes, at least subtitles in different languages especially if you're spending 20 plus on a movie here on Google.
