I miss this app so much. It was so fun and easy to discover new music-I loved listening to this app at work and it made many long nights more enjoyable. If I liked something, it was so simple to mark it as a favourite and purchase it later. The Intuitive UI, smooth streaming and ease of use were a treat. (I especially liked the new music page with the purple neon exclamation mark!!) YouTube music keeps mixing my music with my videos, there are too many commercials, and it's hard to navigate. :(

I'm trying hard to be fair, but Google is trying to force its users into paying for its premium subscription service by downgrading its app. It's little annoyances--now you can't download songs over a cell connection, only over WiFi (good luck if you don't ever have access to WiFi! I'm deployed and cellular data is all we've got). It does sync with iTunes, when it feels like it. There's no control over when it syncs. It does provide cloud music access, which is nice.

such a pity that I am leaving this app after almost 3 years of building up a playlist! the app is great and the recommendations are also good! The app has one huge problem... you can't download it for desktop and it doesn't have an app that works with the Samsung Galaxy Watch! Spotify does all these things so I can have the same playlists on all my devices! I travel a lot so it's important to me to be able to switch from one device to the next and have my music the same!!! Sad to go!! FIX THIS!!!

This was such a great app, it was easy to navigate and great if you have songs that aren't going to be found on youtube. Which is why youtube music makes it a thousand times more difficult to manage my music! I cannot change the file information, if I close the app it stops the music, the interface is hard to get used to. I find myself constantly screaming: "I hate youtube music!" I miss this app! I never leave reviews but I simply cannot stand this change! Google, this was a choice...

This was an amazing app. Overall, the best audio player i've encountered. It's the only one i could stand using for any length of time, and i loved it. Years of add free music were enjoyed, even on the road where i know there were no towers anywhere around to get signal. This is now the case of, it wasn't broke; you shouldnt have tried to fix it. The transfer to YouTube music was not smooth. Lost most of my library somehow. The shutdown of this app is one of google's biggest mistakes.

Pretty good, IF it works. There are times when it will sit in silence until it decides to work and then randomly skip several songs. The ads are AWFUL (but I still won't pay $9.99 unless it's going to work 100% of the time). Sometimes it will still play songs that have been given a "thumbs down" and other times it will keep timing out. Very easy to navigate at least!

Seriously, what a dream! So sad it's gone now, because youtube music is terrible, now I'm stuck finding an alternative... Like the saying goes, "you don't know what you got, till it's gone" it's very true with this app. It was my go-to music app until now. It had all the features I needed, sleep timer, playing already downloaded songs, easy selection of an "in the moment playlist". So easy to swipe away songs, or reorder them. I got so used to how easy it was. Thanks Google... 😑

Pretty good music app overall. Nice to manage my library in the cloud. Except there's one thing that has annoyed me for years! The scrolling doesn't work like any other Android app I've used. I'm used to touching near the right edge of the screen to scroll. In this app, it causes the list of artists to suddenly jump around to different letters far away from the current position. I know it's meant to do that, but it makes me scroll differently than I'm used to.

If you're a classical music listener and an android user, this is the streaming service for you. It has almost all the albums and songs I've been looking for. However, there are things that should definitely be updated. First, the app doesn't show lyrics, which is ironic because they do show up on Google. Second, the covers are squares but they are cropped to fit in a long rectangle, which makes them hard to see. Lastly, I wish this can just be merged with YouTube Music; it feels unorganized.

Extremely disappointed that Google is disabling this app. It was great that you could purchase music and it would automatically be added to your library. As well, it was user friendly and laid out in a great way. YouTube Music is difficult to use and cumbersome. My purchased music is not easily accessible and the default for searching is not my music library. I can only hope Google improves the replacement app since there is no other suitable option.

This app still has quite a few issues in functionality and performance. From glitches that do not allow it to read my own music libraries, to intrusive advertisements about bands they wish to endorse. I've uninstalled this app, and decided to go with VLC for playing my own music. If you need to stream music like a radio, there are quite a few other apps that make this seem like an AM transmitter in an area of satellite radio.

Overall this app works fine, except for one thing. When u make a playlist and try moving songs around, for some reason the app undoes all the song movements I made. I'll have moved 10 different songs to where I want them in the playlist and then it stops for a second and all of a sudden the songs are back where they were before I moved them. This is extremely frustrating and happens very frequently. If this can be fixed that would be AMAZING.

I found this app so brilliant in comparison to any other music app out there, and have been in love using this for years ever since I got my first phone. All these years and happy memories - and now you want to shut this down?! It feels like a breakup that I'll never be able to let go of. Being able to support artists that you love by buying their individual songs, or whole albums was the jam! Now for a rebound I'll have to revert to a CD collection. That's fine. But it's not Google play music.

I use it all the time and I like it. But it could use some more work. For instance we need a way to edit our albums. Like changing the artist , art and name of an album. We also need a way to move a song from one album to another. Also for some reason my playlists randomly lose all their songs and I have to add them all again. Sometimes the app just stops working by that I mean I can't click on anything the only why I can fix it is by restarting my phone or uninstalling the app's updates.

very hard to use. i tried to get to my song, but when I get to the specific music that I like, it goes to a different band and song of a totally different genre and plays that instead. I am sure they did that just because it is 'free' music and artist do not like the fact that people can get that 'free' music. So the application is only made for you to get a sliver of the music and pay for it when the headache gets too much to bare with this app. Btw, its ok anyway.

I keep trying to clean up my music library but in order to delete songs, you have to click on the three little dots next to them, which is next to impossible (and I have had this app through several phones). About 75% of the time, no matter how careful I am, it clicks the scroll bar instead and takes me to the middle of my library and I have to scroll all the way back up and start again. Usually I get frustrated and give up after a few songs. Also, there's no way to select multiple, so you have to do this one song at a time. It's INFURIATING. Please make it so you can hold down to select a song and select multiple at once. You can't delete whole albums or artists either...you have to do it one song at a time. Massive oversight IMO

For the most part, this does what I need to do for music and podcasts, and I like the interface. HOWEVER, why I rated it 2 stars is because it CONSTANTLY skips episodes of podcasts I follow - as in, they don't even show up in their listings. I thought this was a one off problem, but it's now happened enough times and I have to download the missing ones on another app, anyway, that I'll be switching and uninstalling this app until it actually gets addressed.
