Grindr - Gay chat, meet & date

App is getting worse instead of better. I have to close and reopen the app several times when messaging and then resend every message. The app freezes up often and needs to be closed and reopened. It needs to have updates installed almost daily. I did have a paid subscription but I decided not to renew because of the technical issues.

This app is getting ridiculous. They want you to pay an insane amount for a month and half of the features don't even work most of the time. The app is constantly freezing or it gets hung up sending a message. So you have to close out of the app sometimes several times and keep trying again and again to send a message. If there was another app that was as popular as this one and had better features and didn't cost a small fortune I'd ditch this altogether. But nobody uses other apps near me.

I have to keep force stopping app because messages stop delivering. Also, the 6 or so photo limit in the album is pretty pointless. There are too many scammers, and I want to be able to put my pics into an album that I can retract and that others can't screenshot. The app otherwise seems to have improved quite a bit, with many more features that can be helpful. In ways it is better than Scruff, but Scruff has the edge on things like albums. This app tends to aim to attract trash, however.

Don't know what has changed but the ads constantly freeze on my device so literally every time one of the many ads come up . I have to force quit the app and start it again . I would report the bug but the support page has no feedback or support request options unless your a premium user . But since premium users don't see apps I'm sure they see no problem.

Much better, not as many ads anymore and the interface has improved. Good job listening to the public. 5.19.22 Alas, why must i down vote, you all were doing so well. So apparently I cannot send a single message now without restarting the app. This is extremely detracting when trying to chat and you cant send a single response without first clearing the app from your phone then restarting it. After every message.

I think this app does what it's meant to really well!! It's interesting, I've made friends on here and I wasn't expecting that 😂 Honestly the only negative thing is that people with specific reqs you won't be allowed to view a lot of profiles on free mode? Also messages are always failing to go through and you have to resend it a lot. Also the back-out button takes like 10 taps to work. Those are annoyances, but aside from them it's a really good app!

Never works when I need it to. It's OK for finding guys, but it refuses to work sometimes. I'll be in wifi or data , and it refuses to refresh or send messages. It's happened more than once that I'm refreshing and suddenly someone goes from 10 feet away to 1 mile away. And in the messages, for kk reason they just don't send. I'll check my data, restart the app, but they just don't send

The app is getting worse every few messages I send I need to restart my phone so messages will go through, nit just leave app and go back phone needs to be restarted continuously. Why would you pay to be frustrated. This has been going on for months now and has not been addressed in the the last few updates. It is an ongoing problem, very frustrating.

The adverts are so god damn annoying. Tap to skip and it takes you to the play store. This app is getting worse with every update. At least the annoying ads used to be bearable but now half the "features" are behind a paywall. These same features used to be "free" a few years ago, supplemented by ads. Nowadays you have to pay and put up with the same obtrusive ads just to achieve the same functionality. This app is a good example of how to sell out.

I would rate this app higher but the amount of times messages fail to send is awful. And then you need to exit the app at least once for it to work via resending them. And the back button (to go back out of a conversation) often takes a few seconds or taps to go back? And I heard that if you block many people the first person you blocked eventually gets unblocked? That is a serious safety hazard as we dont block for no reason. At least give a warning or option on who to unblock then.

Something new goes bad with each update! Now the map in the Explore feature will not zoom in and out!! Also, in the favorites, when I look at a profile I've saved way down on the bottom of page, it always goes all the way back to the top after I exit profile! What's going on with this app? I'm a paying customer and you keep screwing it up more and more. This may just be my last subscription renewal!

App is easy to understand and use. Quite satisfied with their response to a report of an incident. Although, there are a few issues that needs to be resolved. Like the frequent issue of messages not going through creates a headache from time to time. And also there's this new bug of having to press the "back" button 2 or 3 times to go back to the inbox menu after a private message, which is a bit of an annoyance but nothing too major.

Good app. They've come a long way. Biggest cons are: pro features are ludicrously expensive ($20 a month or $10 for a *day*), search functions are limited without pro features enabled, and app crashes my phone quite often. It's a quick close and reopen, but it does happen a lot. I think the ads are what does it.

Grindr has simply gotten worse over time. These days, it's constantly crashing, glitching out, failing to send messages, etc. And to make up for the people they've lost to this, they've decided to add more and more ads, rather than fixing these problems. Edit: The glitches have gotten worse, and the ads with it. I will likely be deleting this app, once I have added the people I need to on other platforms. I have updated the rating from 2 to 1 stars accordingly.

Horrible experience with really buggy UI that wasn't there in versions years ago. When you tap back from messages to enter the default browsing page, it takes a good 5 seconds. Additionally, swapping between grindr and other apps will render sending of messages non-functional, forcing u to restart the app, just to resend a message. All these bugs have been here for at least 2 years now in addition to the ads I have to deal with. This is unacceptable.

Repeatedly fails to refresh and open until I manually go into phone settings and turn off and on again my WiFi connection. No other apps on my phone are affected by this issue, so it's (not) anything to do with my WiFi connection. It's an issue with this particular app!! Wasn't experiencing this until a few updates ago and it has never been resolved.

Everytime you do an update... it glitches the app... What is the point in paying for it. I have already cleared the cache and still don't work properly. You try to send a message and it fails. The app keeps saying it is connecting. No point sending an email as the wait time for a response is long. I think it is inappropriate to pay for something that keeps glitching as it is a waste of my money.

It's okay... But it's too expensive. Too many options that cost way too much to access. I'd be okay paying a flat rate each month for total app features. But WAY TOO expensive for anything over the basic options. It costs to interact in any way. Now you can't even tap someone without having to pay. It used to be a fun app. Not so much now.

It's been ok for many years but the recent update prevents you from closing adverts after 5 seconds or so. Not sure if it's a bug but there doesn't seem to be a way to not click on the advert. Majority of messages these days are just spam. Really not sure why that are struggling to filter out the same message being sent to thousands of users at the same time.
