First off, I enjoy this game, especially the historical figures represented. There's a lot to do, probably too much. The fact that there is a lot to do is very much hindered by how unstable it is with constant crashes. It's almost like they shoved all they could into the game at the expense of smooth gameplay. This is, in my case more annoying than aggravating, which is why I haven't uninstalled it yet. Love the artwork of the game, which keeps me interested but wish it had more story behind it.
It looks nice overall but has a lot to be desired. The fact they throw some random sell at you every few minutes in an attempt to convince you to spend money is frustrating. Even more so since they do it in a way that makes it seem like it's a deal. The game constantly crashes. I haven't seen anything about the story past chapter 2 and I played up to chapter 10. The overall spike in difficulty as the game progresses makes it difficult for and f2p players. Just bad design.
The animation and illustration is fantastic, illustration especially. Brilliant and deserves recognition. The rest though... The game kind of throws you in there in one of those fast forced tutorials which I never liked. I wasn't fond of the sound effects either. They were fine... Just not right for the game. The writing in English needs work, I was straight up called a "connector" instead of commander (unless that was intentional?) It would probably look better in Japanese or Chinese.
A lot of the gameplay is rather automatic. I have found a problem in the main campaign, on level 1-7 I can not pass the level because of an infinite loading screen. The tutorial was rather confusing, as a lot of things in this game so far. I've now experienced a lot of crashes, nearly every match. I do not know what the cause of it is, but its extremely apparent in Dark Hunting. This is making it very difficult to accomplish tasks that should be trivial for my harbringers.
It's a hot mess. Good character art, good combat. But the interface, achievements, who knows what is going on or what to do next? When do events end? When does the day reset? How do certain functions work? Where are they - learning the menus is a hiccup, and even then, still don't know how to do certain tasks. Can't find a rhythm with this one. Very flashy.
I have now hit a wall that prevents me from upgrading units. You literally have to wait to get xp and gold. With no real way to farm and the difficulty spike in each chapter. It seems like they are forcing you to buy upgrades, not to mention the ridiculous amount of gold and xp you need to upgrade units. The art is awesome, but the progression is truly holding the game back.
The game is decent. I have no hate for it, however there are a few things that have made the gaming experience diminish for me. Such as animation bugs, freezing, and being unable to access things easily. For example, you can "equip all items" but there is no option to "unequip all items". This I find rather inconvenient, but not really much a big deal. (Edit) There is also an animation freeze with Cleopatra's Ultimate.
If I could give you a zero I would. Great graphics cool character models. Seems really cool at first. Then as you progress you take a closer look. This game encourages you to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars WEEKLY. By no means do you HAVE to but EVERY time you upgrade or fail or pass a lvl you are "offered a package costing between 30 to 50 dollars. Also the story starts out "meh" then disappears entirely. Biggest scam I've ever played.
One of the worse games I've encountered. Big p2w game. You can't make any progress in the game without spending tons of money and it is a nightmare to upgrade the characters with impossible way to obtain the material evolution. Trust me, I spent a lot to get vip 13 and it doesn't help at all, I still can't beat the material evolution battlefield and now I'm stuck. They merge servers together which is unnecessary, all the p2w people get to dominate everything. A perfect habitat for whales.
To be honest I have a soft spot for games like this, but i do love the animation style they chose and the gameplay is very simple to understand. It gets straight to the point and most games downfall in ny personal opinion is a to directed and long tutorial which this one has a nice and short one or the option to skip which I do appreciate. But over all I do enjoy the game and its art style again is very pleasing to the eye.
Gameplay is fun however my game crashed and now i don't have access to the account i was using even after spending money on the game. Edit: Customer support was very helpful and helped me get my account back in order, turns out it was user error (oops my bad). Definitely happy to change from a 2 star to a 4 star review. The game isnt perfect but its still really good for the genre and its actually really fun. Plus the story is pretty interesting!
Barely 5 minutes into the game you start losing pve missions. It doesn't explain how you can get stronger. No way to replay missions. Instead it keeps pushing purchases on to you. Worst new player experience I have ever seen anywhere. After ages figured how to progress. I've improved rating because of the fantastic art and the beautiful designs. They have put a lot of work in.
Really enjoyable. However, I really wish the exp and coin gain was more frequent. Also, the power scaling is way off. Example: my team composition is 4200, versus an enemy team of 2700. I lose. Some balance adjustments would be fantastic, less focus on diamond purchases and more on content and playability. Thank you much, for what it is. The game is amazing with FANTASTIC animated design.
Update: has SO much potential to be a great game but falls short in a few areas: broken mechanics/aspects, too much uniformity in itemized sets leaving very little room for creative builds, the period between events is far too long, very little incentive for transactions or too pricey/no low ticket items for a game you'd want to actually spend money on, tooltips are confusing a majority of time, items needed to grow are hard to come by and more. Would like to see this one to it's full potential
Ever wondered what it would be like to play HSOTD with a persona interface, well you'd get harbinger or course, and I will be playing this game for a while. The strongest aspect of it is the subtle details in everything, the people, the environment on and off the battlefield, and even the things scattered around and collected for your benefit. Although the weakest point IMHO is the lack of variety in enemy types, most are run of the mill, that you see in most zombie games. That's just a nitpick.
Buggy game. Artwork PNGs and other graphics don't load in correctly 70% of the time. During cutscenes where characters are talking, a large black box will appear instead of their PNG. Also, it sometimes freezes at the beginning of a level. And that's if the game doesn't black screen and freeze while loading. The game itself doesn't lag. It's just jenky and has lots of issues with the graphics and imagery. Unfortunate since the art is probably the main aspect bringing players in.
I will definitely download this game again once I get a new phone, it's a really good game and the graphics and the characters are awesome in its art style. However, when I play it or when I do summons, fight my matches it crashes and exits me out of the game which is annoying and I suggest that to keep the UI simple because it's hard to see what's going on when there's too much stuff going on in a single UI.
Everything's good. The watch ad option doesn't work though when trying to retrieve lost rewards. Please fix. EDIT: Don't know what happened but its been working lately. EDIT #2: Is there any way you guys can put in a skip button within exploration for us f2p players ?. Yes we will start each battle manually but with the skip button, it would make getting through all those levels just that much faster. Thanks.
I really love the game especially during my times before, The problem now is that. I can't seem to hear some of the Characters' Voicelines and/or music when activating their like Hyper Skills, especially Amadeus. Also another is that I'm stuck in the screen before the part where it says you Completed or Failed a stage after pressing the Next Stage option, Please fix it. Thank You.
This game is a chaotic mess. While the graphic design and layout and character art is very good, everything else is terrible: player is thrown into the deep end without being told anything about the world they're in and why things happen. Character classes are confusing, as is some of the basic GUI. Events are a mess. Not much rewards for beginner players. There doesn't seem to be any point to the game at all other than levelling characters.
It's a cool game, I just downloaded it. But when I was playing, one of the starter heroes were glitching during battle. The female character would cause my game to hang when she attacked. I had to restart it when I hear the game finish, so I don't have to redo it with her. And when I check on some of the character profiles, it would also hang. It's actually frustrating for someone who just started playing. I like the game, but it's way too buggy.
The game is great. Despite being auto, theres a great deal of strategy required to build a team that can compliment one another and since we have control over our active skills, it adds even more reason to it. Its only been a week for me but i haven't faced any sort of paywall. I would 5* stat this if i could watch the ads for the camp rate up but for some reason, the ads won't play.
This game is buggy. It freezes, force closes, or specific menus just wont work temporarily. No tutorial to explain combat mechanics. They try to pressure you to buy limited time packs available only for 2 hours! The cutscenes between missions rarely show story progression, your better of skipping them. The characters are more concerned with joking around than the zombies. Overall its buggy and not immersive. I do like you get up to 30 free pulls though. You only keep 1 but its nice.
The characters and art in this game are very cool. It's very generous with free draws, and doesn't involve any obnoxious energy system so you can play as much as you like. The one major drawback in my opinion is the gameplay. During battles your team pretty much handles every aspect of the battle by itself. The player's only involvement is choosing when to use their ultimate abilities, and setting it to use them automatically is generally the best strat, so there's very little for you to do.
Great art. Love the concept and enjoyable story so far. My only complaint is that the game keeps freezing. Is it just me? I would start battle only for it to load an empty screen. I can't back out and nothing happens even if I wait. I have to close the entire app and restart. Gets annoying after a while. *edit: mainly happens early on in the game (chapters 1-3). Hasn't happened in a while since I moved on.
