Create your own inmate and attempt to survive in a prison where every sentence is a "death" sentence. Rub shoulders with up to 100 fellow inmates in a sprawling jail of 12 unique areas, each filled with fully interactive furniture and props. Plus a life beyond the jail populated by real civilians, with wardens enforcing dozens of different laws to stop you from making a break for it.
Each day, you will find your health and mental state slipping away. Both can be restored by sleeping
- which is also a good way to pass time. You won't always be permitted to sleep, though, so consuming food and drink bridges the gap. These, along with many other activities such as reading or watching TV, can also help to improve your mental state. If you "lose your mind" you will break down and will temporarily lose control of your character (almost certainly getting into trouble!).
Your character also has a set of attributes that you are challenged to improve:
- STRENGTH indicates how much damage you can inflict or absorb. You can improve it by fighting or lifting weights.
- AGILITY determines how fast you move. You can improve it by jogging in the yard or scoring baskets.
- INTELLECT reflects your knowledge
- including fighting skills such as counters. You can improve it by reading books.
- REPUTATION is how much other prisoners respect you. It can be improved by accomplishing tasks or intimidating others.
There are also opportunities to earn money
- whether you work for it with a broom, trade items at a profit, or run with a gang. Having money increases your opportunities to grease the wheels and make your life inside easier.
You may find that you need to go to the toilet from time to time, in which case you must race to the bathroom! Alternatively, you could find a toilet to sit on or grab some toilet paper to spare your blushes. Failing to do so will damage your reputation and mental state.
I regret that there is more to this game than I could ever explain here, so I hope you enjoy figuring some things out for yourself.

OTHER CONTROLS
- Press ATTACK and RUN together to launch a powerful attack.
- Press any button with any direction (or none) in a grapple to trigger different moves.
- Press RUN and PICK-UP together to set fire to a small object (which can then be used to set fire to a large object).
- Touch the clock to pause the game and bring up options to exit.
- Touch any speech bubble to speed through conversations.
PERFORMANCE
- If you find your device struggles to display lots of characters, considering keeping the "Population" option low.
- "Speed Up Frame Rate" sleeping will require good performance at the default frame rate.
- Head to the "Display" options to tone down other features.

It's been a few years since I last played this game when I was a child, and I decided to try it out again to try to get some nostalgia, and I was really disappointed in what the game brought. For starters, 40% of the game consists of unskippable ads that last for 30 seconds to a minute long. On top of that, you also can no longer pick your character design, its move set, or it's attributes. It's all random, and the only way to get around this and the ads are by paying 3 USD for it. To top it all off, if you pay those 3 dollars, you still get a buggy product. Randomly I loose control of my character (beyond just when my character goes insane) and I randomly get control back at random. I don't know how well the PC version still holds up, but the Hard Time on mobile is garbage and there are better prison simulators on the market.
Completed the game, the controls were a bit wack but got used to. Encountered some glitches, like when I'm in a call (literal call) and enter another room and everything goes on the top left side of my phone. Rather than that, the other inmates and wardens have Bipolar disorder(hope you get what I mean when you play this game). I like the real life photo-graphics with the in-game graphics (hope I made sense). Also I found a way to cheat the game. But overall I enjoyed this.
very good! Very minimalistic concept done to the T. It's a very engaging experience for the player, and the insanity it brings makes it truly a HARD TIME. The Wrestling Engine used on this game makes NPC's easily agitated and aggresive, causing the experience to take an interesting turn when you accidently kill someone and go insane and lose control of your character. Overall, a pleasant experience
I don't understand why we can't our characters for free anymore. There's no problem with the ads because I just put my phone on airplane mode but I feel it's best if there's an option to skip the long ones.This isn't a big problem but I feel it was best to tell you that I was given a black character named "Fight Figga" and I just feel best if you think twice about the names you give(just to be on the safe side)I always been a huge fan of your games and I hope you at least consider fixing few!Ty.
I used to love this games. The ads were around then but this new pay to edit thing is new. In the old hard time I could choose to be a female and it made me excited that females were getting included. Now we can't choose our characters so we must be what they put they as or keep resetting. This game and Pop scene have really upset me. I know 2.99 isn't a lot but it's still sad that I don't get to at least choose a gender. 😭 I've been playing since I was like 12. Wish we could fix this.
Was a great app. Great idea, used to love it!now its money and you get adds every time you sleep and you need to sleep all the time. On top of that stats dont mean anything and even when you are spamming the controls to get out of a hold it sometimes does nothing at all and your literally stuck looking at your character die for many minutes. It's frustrating. I would change it to 5 star if these two things were fixed. And the game would be way better if yout new games features were added.
It's a simple and easy game to play. Its fun, and a great time passer. Decent graphics, and simple, easy to use controls, I've been playing this game for around 4 years, the only problem I have are the amount of adds I get. when I first downloaded it, rarely any adds. Other than that, it's a great mindless game.
This game used to be halfway decent, but that was before they started to put ads into every time that you go to sleep or you get caught doing something "wrong" which is about every two minutes pretty much(oh, and the ad's unskippable too, lmao). Also, they got rid of the character customization at the start, and now you have to buy every single thing. Screw you MDickie, and I was just starting to think that you were one of the good ones.
While it is a fun, realistic game, there are some aspects that can be improved. I suggest an idea that will be both better for the company and us. I believe that us players should be allowed to revive by either watching an ad, or buying the gamepass. All in all, MDickie's games are amazing, and I'd recommend it.
It use to be better, where you could customize your inmate to some extent. Now they have changed it to you cant change anything at all without buying the upgrade, there is unskippable 30 second ads every time you go to sleep or load somewhere new, i decided to buy the upgrade but it doesn't even show up in game, even when i hit restore purchases
omg this person Gr8potato person is dumb for the bit that losing control at random. Bro it's part of the game when the brain meter is all the way down you "lose your mind" making you lose control. Only way to avoid it, is to keep the meter up. Other then that I have no problem with the game
Interesting premise, but i don't feel i properly learned the controls ecxept for messing around with them on my own. An actual tutorial might've helped. Touchpad controls are almost always a little cumbersome, so i dont fault the game for that. Ads everytime you sleep, and sleep is required, though? That's annoying. Its a free mobile game so i expect an ad here and there, but that's a frustrating way to implement them from a player perspective
Dear Mat, This is not a Terrible game. However whenever an ad pops up( I wait for skip button to appear) I click that or tap rather and it returns to game mode and freezes in portrait position (the game screen itself) and i have to hard restart the phone by holding power key and then waiting for phone to load just so I can get back to the game . Please fix bugs. Thankyou!
This game is good and I've it for a for like 3 years be there is now a ton of bugs EX: crashing, items in sky, etc. Most bad comments are just people who are bad at the game, but I do agree that you getting arrested every second for every little thing is super bad. Other then that I like the game and I name it one of the best mobile games out there.
This game has really gone downhill, it used to better than what it is now. When a character was chosen for you, you were able to customize the character to how you want it. Now more restrictions were added, so you have to upgrade in order to anything at all.
Absolutely epic! The game is fun to play and you can kill some hours because it is totally offline. It never gets boring because something new always happens, you won't be able to avoid fights in the days you spend in prison. You can buy the editor for under 3$ and you canedit your role, charcter and stats like reputation, strenght, agility and intellect. Great game, only a few mb and fun, you should definitely install it.
This game used to be amazing, really it was great, but now you need to pay to be able to customize your character, and not only that there are some issues that I don't like for example, when your sanity meter goes all the way down your character starts controlling themselves? Why? I get it's an insanity meter or something but just make it so we have very little health or something cause with the self controlling I'm just sitting there waiting to actually play the game again
The game is sick. Easy controls, some funny,some serious moments. I liked the feature that the characters lose their minds for some time. But this also causes havoc in cops. MDickie u are a great team. I would recommend your team to create some online games and that'so not related to WWE. Anyways thanks for hardworking for players enjoyment.🙏
I used to play this game a lot when it was completely free to make your character look however you wanted them to and honestly that hint of personality made the game a shitton of fun and now I have to pay just to be able to customize my character. I really liked these types of games but all the good content is paid content not even fun to play anymore because everything is locked until you buy the upgrade or behind ads. Really lame.
Your game was good, but now you only want "money money money" so you take away the skip button on the ads. Really smart.... And what happened to FREE Customization??? We can't customize the characters anymore and it's not fun getting characters you don't want to play as. You made your game boring when it used to be so fun. All of your games were fun, until you turned into a cheapskate. Very disappointed, please change it back.
This game is awesome but the reason of 4-Star is when I fight then after some time the button gets disappeared and I cannot control the game, game controls it on its own, button needs to changed or else I'll delete. This game is fun, just fix the issues then no tension.
(Been playing on and off since 2014) I must say, your games are some of the best. Great time-passers. My favorites are this and SuperCity. I wish there would be more updates or if more reviews could be responded to. Although I've learned to accept this, the AI characters can be a real pain at times with the fighting and the player not having multiple options. More realistic AI characters would be great, but then again, I'm playing either way. Keep up the good content!
