The game book captures the 40k atmosphere nicely. However I'm not impressed with the graphic design especially compared to other Tin Man books. My biggest frustration is with a battle against 4 Wytches that must be done in 3 rounds. When you lose, one possible choice is that something intervenes to save you otherwise it's game over.

In order to get the best ending, you need to succeed in "Wheels of Fate" during one key point of the story, this makes all the choices and accomplishments that you've done previously useless as wheels of fate really depends on luck. Also, there is only 1 good ending, once u reach that there aren't much point to reply, unless other gamebooks such as "To be or not to be", which has diff of endings to unlock.

Short, but sweet. The book feels a bit more linear than most choose your own adventures, where all roads eventually wind back on each other several times. The purity system does help bring the 40k feel by encouraging you to stay in character, but considering the best ending requires you to not only break character, but also get lucky on a random chance too...in all honesty, this is part and parcel of choose your own adventure books but the bitter feeling can't lie...despite the fairly fantastic situation that comes because of those choices.

Like it. Not sure about support for this game though. I emailed developer about a problem but have had no response. Section 197 gives 2 choices however, both go directly to section 6.

Aside from RNGesus occaisionally deciding to grant waves of crits against me while I flail and die against embarrassingly low level enemies I dont really have any complaints. But... uhhh.... why am I finding medkits if I cant use them? Am I just too stupid?

I grew up playing GW tabletop games and reading the books. This is a master crated mix of the two.

A well written 40k story that you can participate in. Damn that Tombship though.

Only a few hours of content even to do/see/get 100%, would have liked a lot more. More colors would also be an improvement.

The save system is weird and confusing. Messed up my game.

Fun and with lots of replay value. However, there was supposed to be a sequel...but it has never materialized. Any word on when or if it's coming out?

I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of space operas or Warhammer 40k

40k universe is the only thing which made me play this game for several days. Huge amounts of text, poor visuals and controls. And if this was not enough, choosing between two doors has 50% of instadeath! And guess what? Sure, you have to start over again and spend all that time once more. In a loop. Developer guys, please read something about gameplay and remake this one.

I'm hoping for a sequel!

Excellent as always from tinman games

It's a good game for w40k fans like me... but feels like overpriced for such short story

Entertaining read if not a little short for the price. but one great thing with it is you can always reread, the shoot em up bits are a good twist on things, they reminded me of early pc games. On a side note the datapad feel was fantastic and I would like to see that as a theme for phones and tablets. I hope the next ones are going to be cheaper, as they will essentially be dlc for those that have already purchased this one, unless you plan on redoing the whole layout? Anyway thanks again :-D

This is a big step forward for Tin Man Games over their other gamebooks. The polish on the graphics and the audio is much improved and the new combat system gives additional choice. I especially like the soundtrack in Herald of Oblivion, it's a definite space theme with hints from the Alien movie soundtrack which really set the mood of exploring and battling on a ancient space hulk! The graphics for combatants are excellent. I do like the painted art in other titles but being a 40K storey the computerised pict graphics really work with the story line which is right up there with the good work done in the Horus Heresy novels. Gameplay is nicely sectioned with distinct quests for individual team mates allowing you to break up your game time if you can resist!

Hi guys love your games, saw this one on your website and bought it without two thoughts. Unfortunately when I ran it , there's no visible writing in the menu, anyway hit what I assumed was new game, and got the intro, but once I reached where it says combat tutorial I couldn't go any further. Can you help me please?

Interesting combat mechanics with dark story and quality 3d graphics & artwork. This game book is a great step forward for TMG. Keep up the good work :)
